View Full Details of Elm View Care HomeWe needed to get an assessment sorted to see if mum could get a chair supplied that would enable her to spend time out of bed safely and would also mean we could move her out of her room to the lounge, so that she could enjoy the activities. Mum has deteriorating needs so it needed to be assessed professionally. We initially thought this would take weeks or even months for a referral, but it was quickly sorted out for us and mum only waited a couple of weeks. She now has a chair suitable for her needs and that will definitely enhance her quality of life. Thank you to the managers in the home for sorting this so quickly.
What kind people who looked after my wife. Thank you so much. What impressed me and my family who visited the home on many occasions was so helpful. The nurses and general assistants were caring for her in her last days. We shall all. Fondly remember theses difficult times where kindness does especially, count.
A lot of time and money and disruption over more than 4 months has been involved in refurbishment here and it's still ongoing. However I'm disappointed that money hasn't been spent on employing more care staff. My aunt has assisted feeding, yet when I was visiting her, coffee was brought without sugar (she's been there over 3 years so it should be routine); and no one arrived to assist, or to check we were OK helping her. If I'd not been there, it would have been left on a table she can't see or reach to go cold. Answer to call bell is way too long, resulting in residents having an accident when they need toilet assistance. Activities in the lounge are for a small number of residents who are able to access them. A nice activity would be for someone simply to visit the very frail and sit with them for companionship.
My mother has been a resident at Elm View for 4 years now and the care has been wonderful. The new manager is second to none. She is an amazing asset to the home and displays all the qualities one would wish for from a resident's and family member's perspective. She has time to listen, is kind and empathetic and is always willing to go that extra mile for both resident and their loved ones. A true professional, who is proactive, honest, trusted and considerate. Her staff are also superb - always smiling and welcoming. The home's recent refurbishment makes the place feel more homely.
My mother was very well looked after. The staff are amazing and the new manager can't do enough for us. Everything was very good.
From the moment we looked around we have found this a very welcoming and friendly place. The staff are kind and caring and we are very happy with the care my Mum is receiving. The garden area is delightful, and her room is bright and cheerful.
The care home is so welcoming. The smell when I visit is lovely. The staff that I have spoken to are always polite and smiling. Very clean. It's a joy to visit.
The staff have been very helpful. Always with a smile. Garden is very relaxing.
Very happy with interview. Seemed to be aware of all the circumstances. Pleasant and helpful.
I chose this care home in the town where I live for a recovery period following a hip replacement operation (I am a fit 88-year-old). I was pleasantly surprised by everything I found here. My room was well equipped and corridors very suitable for tentative walkers on frames and crutches. All the staff were totally friendly. Food had choices and was always very tasty. Any need was met. Meals could be taken in the bedroom or the dining room. Entertainment was provided in a lounge in the afternoon. I extended my stay by a week so that speaks for itself.
A high ratio of staff to residents. A very caring atmosphere and dignity is observed at all times. Everybody is very competent.
The wonderful staff have given the utmost care and attention to my father. He was with you for five and a half months. I’m sad he never got to see the garden or the restaurant, but this can’t be helped. He was so well looked after, and for this, I am eternally grateful. I truly cannot fault you.
The best care home my wife has been in over the last 15 years. Staff are all friendly, helpful and caring, the catering staff are excellent as are the cleaners and the laundry staff. The maintenance person is also very good and helpful.
My mum has been in Elm View since November 2022. She is very unwell and bedbound and in the the midst of a very difficult time, the staff at Elm View have been very kind and look after my mum so well. They are also very kind to our family. The food is great and the activities are amazing. It gives me peace knowing my mum is looked after and cared for here.
My husband has been in Elm View Care Home for 2.5 years. Mostly the care has been very good but due to the staff shortages and agency staff, there have been times I haven't been happy with my husband's care. Not the fault of the staff, the staff have been very kind and supportive to myself and my husband during some very difficult times.
My mum in laws description of Elm View: "If you want something, you only have to ask. The staff are lovely!"
Staff very friendly.
Find staff helpful and efficient.
Excellent service and always ready to make the residents comfortable. Whilst singing entertainment does not appeal to my mother as she is profoundly deaf. She is quite happy with the personal contacts from the staff.
I came here for two weeks after a new knee operation. Have been treated with kindness and respect from day one. Nothing has been too much trouble for any of the staff. Would recommend this place to all my friends.
