View Full Details of Hill House Nursing HomeMy mother has been a resident at Hill House for over a year and recently passed away. She has received such wonderful care from the staff at Hill House and they made her final months with us so much more comfortable for her. I have been so impressed by all the stimulating social experiences like the musicians and pets. The staff have been so caring and welcoming.
My father spent 5-6 weeks here and would definitely not recommend this home to any loved ones or friends. Always understaffed, management is awful! The actual care team (nurses, carer assistants) are lovely people, they just can't manage the workload. The rooms are adequate and the food is okay, but that's the only real positive thing I can say. More of a business than an actual "care" home in our opinion so definitely avoid if you can.
The moment I was received, the welcoming was very warm. I settled immediately into my room. Ample room and lovely window view. The staff were outstanding and nothing was too much for me to ask. Everything, and I mean everything was done with great alacrity and sincerity. The food was "fantastic" home-cooked, and the care put into the daily bakes "wow", superb food. All in all, I would like to give a big thank you to all of the team. Keep it up.
The staff are wonderful, friendly, caring, and supportive. They work very hard although I feel they could do with more staff, sometimes they are all so rushed! The food is very good, well cooked but served cold at times. Overall I would recommend this home to friends and family. I spend at least 4 hours every day to help feed my husband and do his personal care (shaving, cleaning nails and teeth).
My husband has been a resident in Hill House Nursing Home for just over two years. My family and I are completely satisfied with the care he has been (an still is) receiving. All the staff are lovely and the home is always clean and well-run. As visitors, we always feel welcome and I truly believe he could not be better off anywhere else.
My husband is cared for with dignity and respect. The staff are caring and supportive of us both. The manager is readily available and visible on the floor and never makes you feel she is too busy to listen. There are dedicated entertainment staff and activities and entertainment is provided almost daily. The staff of all grades work together as a team to create a professional but warm, friendly atmosphere. Any small problem is dealt with timely and respectfully. Open visiting makes me feel welcome. I knew immediately that Hill House was the best place to help us both adjust to the difficult decision of my husband going into care.
A very caring home. The staff are very attentive to their residents and needs and nothing seems too much trouble for them. Activities are organised and seemed to be enjoyed. Certain events of the year are always recognised and seem well received by all. A lovely home with a pleasant outlook, well organised, always clean and tidy.
Recently my dad has been very poorly and unable to eat or drink anything. The dedication the team showed him has been amazing. They were quick to respond to his difficulties and contacted all relevant parties. He is now sat up and bright! Really can't thank everyone enough for the devotion and care they have given him. They have really shown that it is not just a job and they really do care. Thank you.
Everyone at Hill House has been excellent in care and support and would recommend it if asked.
I am not a religious person but if you believe in angels, they are working at Hill House. Every single member of staff deserves praise and endless thanks. They are all very special people to deliver care with love, empathy and unbelievable kindness. Everyone is treated with dignity and respect, despite of challenging circumstances. For the first time, I had piece of mind that my beloved mum would be cared for as I had cared for her. Thank you from my heart.
Outstanding is the level of professionalism at Hill House. Exceptional are all of the staff, nursing, domestic, catering, activities and entertainment, maintenance and of course the management. (Hope I have not forgotten anyone) My experience is from March through to July, thus far. I have had previous experience of long-term residence, for both of my parents at Hill House and without any doubt, knew where my loved one would be cared for and taken care of when I was no longer capable of doing so. I applaud you all and thank you sincerely. Anyone reading this and undecided about where to look for a placement for their loved one, need look no further.
My aunt is at Hill House for palliative care. She is 96 and on end-of-life care. The staff are very friendly and attentive, and she is very well looked after.
I have been in the nursing home daily since my wife arrived. The staff have been cooperative at all times considering the number of dementia patients and the pressure of work they have I found all of them very good. Caring for someone with this condition is not easy, as I well know. Thank you. PS: We all liked the live music.
My sister is so well cared for by very loving staff. She is always clean well dressed and very happy. We are made so welcome when we visit even when we have our dog with us. Her hair and nails (manicures) are regularly done.
The staff at Hill House Nursing Home are amazing, always got time even though they are extremely busy. My mum is very well cared and looked after. Having access to the online care control, I can see the daily comments that are made regarding Mum and what she has been doing (mainly singing!). I would love to move my mum closer to where I live but know that would not be in the best interests for my mum and whether she would get the same care/assistance/cuddles/tea cakes/nails painted as she does at Hill House. Thank you to all staff involved.
My mother was placed here for end-of-life care and was in the home for about five weeks until her death. During those weeks she and her close family visitors were treated with the utmost kindness and care by all members of the team. There was humour and tenderness in how the tasks of caring for a very frail person were undertaken and the attention from the medical staff was first-class throughout. Thank you to everyone at Hill House who accompanied my mother to her peaceful passing.
Nursing care for Dad until he died was wonderful. Mum also in the home but she is moving to "residential care" as she doesn't currently need nursing. Staff very kind to her. Thank you.
I would like to offer full praise for Hill House Nursing Home and their entire team: they are exemplary. Nothing is ever too much to ask; from the managers to the carers, nurses and auxiliary staff - each and everyone I have spoken to have always been courteous, caring and efficient. All requests and queries have been attended to immediately, with the greatest care and to the highest standards. Despite being incredibly busy, they always make time to give full and detailed updates over the phone. Their online system gives us peace of mind knowing we can check on Mum whenever we need to. Having the ability to monitor her happiness, health, food intake, weight etc, at the touch of a button is a source of huge comfort to Mum and the whole family. All the staff are amazing, but our regular contacts are all worthy of the highest direct praise: they all provide excellent services in nursing, nutrition and activity care - wonderful!
My mother in law has received great care during her time at the home. She is there to receive end of life care and I feel she has received a high level of care with dignity and respect for her wishes. All the staff have been friendly and approachable which is important during this hard time for our family. Thank you all.
I certainly like being here, the staff are lovely and look after me.
