View Full Details of Hector House (Glasgow) LtdDementia affects whole families not just the person. Hector House provides excellent care for our mother. As a family we are all over the world, but know she is being looked after amazingly. So much better than we could manage because now Mum needs 24 hour care. What makes this home so special are the staff and how it's managed. Because we are still part of life at Hector House. We feel welcome when we we turn up randomly. We manage to have the sort of family get togethers we used to have at Mum's and generally feel like her home at Hector House is absolutely her home not a "care home " We are lucky. I recommend this home 100%.
Since my mother-in-law moved into Hector House, she has blossomed. She has put on weight and socialised more than in the last 30 years, and most importantly, the distress that vascular dementia can cause has lessened by 90%. The team are fantastic; they get to know each person's needs, wants and likes. They go out of their way to ensure the care is so personalised. As a family, we will not have the words to express our thanks to all of them. You become part of an extended family and get to know all that live and work there. Thank you.
Amazing staff, who demonstrate true care and deliver the highest quality service. Their enthusiasm shows and they appear to love the job they do and you can tell - all their residents are so well cared for, happy and so settled.
Hector House (Glasgow) is very welcoming to everyone. All the staff are very professional and do their job very well. They go above and beyond their duties to care for residents. Great staff morale. Not at all like a care home very homely and happy.
Mum moved to Hector House over a year ago with deteriorating dementia. Her quality of life had become poor. Due to the plentiful and targeted activities that the staff provide, as well as the level of overall care, Mum is now thriving and her quality of life is as good as it gets. I can eventually now sleep at night. Thank you Hector House.
My wife went into Hector House July 2021 because I was not able to give her the care and help that she needed 24/7. Broke my heart doing this but as soon as we arrived there the staff couldn't have been more helpful and friendly. They made us feel very welcome and helped her settle in. She has came on brilliant since she went in, eating better, more life in her eyes and that's all done to the staff and residents at Hector house. Every time we go up to see her we are made welcome and feel like one big happy family.
My aunt is so happy in this home. She was socially isolated at home but since moving here she is living her best life, staff excellent. I have seen my aunt’s old personality come back. Nothing is too much trouble for staff. It’s very homely and welcoming.
This home excelled as always recently by launching a worldwide campaign to get a 101 year old birthday cards. Excellent community-orientated care home. Residents always have attention to detail celebrations of their choice. Don’t have a relative in there, I have a friend in this home but I would have no hesitation in putting my relative in here. In fact, I wouldn’t put them anywhere else.
This home has treated my dad as an individual from the minute he moved in. My dad has always been strongly independent and they have managed to make him feel completely at home. He has engaged in so many varied activities and every care worker is simply brilliant with him. What I love most is that I have seen more of my dad via all their videos etc than before he moved in (as I live abroad) and although he is sadly drifting away in his own reality, it is so reassuring to see him being so well looked after. I could never have imagined my dad being so content in a care home setting and it is down to the staff’s approach to all residents individually. From I can also say that they do wonderful things for all residents and clearly genuinely care for everyone in very special ways.
The care offered to my partner and our extended family was second to none. Hector House (Glasgow) Ltd offers very person-centred care and as it is a smaller home this makes for a lovely family feel in the home. Everyone is very friendly and staff are visible at all times.
I visited Hector House to see a lifelong friend who is a resident there. The staff were very welcoming and the home was getting ready for Halloween, the atmosphere was lovely. My friend had been in another care home initially but she was very keen to praise Hector House and the staff there and said she was much happier there. I live in England and cannot visit often, however I follow the home on social media and I am always impressed by how much they do to engage the residents in interesting activities. My friend’s relatives all speak highly of Hector House too and are pleased with the care they take of the residents. Keep up the good work, Hector House!
Fantastic staff, fantastic support for the residents, the care and support provided for my relative was second to none. The activities are great and enjoyed by all. A very resident-centric care management.
