View Full Details of Brook HouseMy mother initially moved to Brook House for emergency respite care when she became unwell. The move was very sudden and distressing for her, having lived independently until she was 90. The staff were kind and considerate helping her to adjust and settle in. They were also very supportive of my sister and me as we were upset that we had not managed to look after Mum at home. We were always welcomed when we visited and given regular updates on how Mum was settling in. When it became clear that Mum would have to stay for longer than a couple of weeks she was able to move to a slightly bigger room that was brighter and had easier access to the ensuite facilities. We really appreciated this. Mum continues to be well cared for. The staff listen to our requests and are always kind and supportive.
Mum has been at Brook House Care home for almost three years. She has always been treated with kindness and respect, any concerns that she has had or that I've had have been listened to and addressed quickly and without fuss , I have complete trust in those caring for Mum.
I found the home clean & tidy, the staff were good. We had our lunch with my brother and it was hot, tasty and very nice. My brother was happy and content. I left feeling he was being well looked after.

My mother has been a resident at Brooke House Care Home for nine months and in that time, she has been extremely well looked after. All the staff at the home are very well-trained with a lot of care and attention given to the needs of the residents who get treated with the dignity and respect you would expect from such an excellent care home. I couldn't wish for a better or safer environment in which to look after my mother, helping her to enjoy her later years as much as she possibly can.
My mother stayed at Brook House for 6 weeks, post-fall recovery, with very little notice my mother was admitted. The home manager and the managing director were extremely helpful with the admission. On visiting my mother, the staff were very accommodating, nothing was too much trouble, my mom said all the staff were extremely helpful, the meals were restaurant quality, support with personal care needs was with privacy, dignity and respect, activity and reablement were very good. Overall, I would highly recommend Brook House to my family, friends and the local community. In my opinion, Brook House is outstanding with its care delivery and attention to detail.
I spent six weeks at Brook House for respite following an accident. It was most definitely the right place to be. The whole place was kept spotlessly clean. Staff were very able and willing to minister to all one's needs without exception. The meals were superb all fresh & very tasty. I would without hesitation recommend Brook House for professional care in all medical circumstances.
Mum felt she had made a new family whilst she was at Brook House for respite care. The love and care she received got her back on her feet and back to her flat. Brook House is super clean, organised, friendly, it has multiple areas inside and out for everyone to enjoy, it's welcoming to visitors, the food is delicious and there are plenty of activities. The staff are lovely, they work so well together and make every effort for each individual's well-being. Mum had a very happy time there.
My mother stayed at Brook House for respite care and settled so well she is staying permanently. She enjoys the company, the activities, and the food! All of the staff that I have met are caring and considerate and are aware that Brook House is my mum's home as well as their workplace. It is an excellent care home.
We have been using Brook House for a number of years for respite care for my mum-in-law. They have amazing staff who are so caring and make my mum-in-law feel so welcome. The staff are so approachable and easy to chat to and we know how safe and cared for my mum-in-law will be while we're away which for us is so important. Wouldn't use anywhere else.
My father suffered a major stroke. If it wasn’t for the prompt action of the carers, my father would be in a lot worse condition. They recognised early warning signs and called an ambulance, without hesitation. They were super calm, efficient and reassuring when dealing with the paramedics, my father and myself. Whilst my father was in hospital, Brook House Care Home genuinely asked to be updated with his progress. Upon his discharge, everything was in place ready for him and he received a lovely, warm welcome. He has since needed a lot more care and support which has been there in abundance. The thought they put into adapting to my father's new needs is so refreshing and much appreciated. The communication is second to none, the staff have endless patience when he gets frustrated and he is treated with the utmost dignity, kindness and respect. We have total confidence he is in the best hands.
Brook House Care Home was highly recommended by a friend and was definitely the right choice for Mum who has dementia. All the staff are wonderful - highly professional, caring and compassionate, exhibiting patience and understanding to all the residents. The bedrooms are very comfortably furnished, the food is first-class and the range of activities that are provided is outstanding. It has taken such a weight off my mind to know that Mum is safe and so well cared for after we had to make the difficult decision for residential care. 10/10 from me and my family!
Brook House is such a welcome, warm and loving environment. Staff go above and beyond to make everyone feel welcome, comfortable and so well cared for. I can’t speak more highly of amazing care they give. It has given me so much reassurance and peace of mind that my Mum is in the best environment possible with love, warmth and friendly faces all around.

My husband has Alzheimer’s and severe mobility, he was first accepted by Brooke House for respite care which has slowly increased since his health has deteriorated. It is more likely that he will become a permanent resident in the near future. I am so impressed by the care and kindness which he has always received and the support and reassurance that we, as his family, have also received. It is a happy house, with excellent food, a daily offering of games and entertainment, regular hands on introduction to animals which is therapeutic for all. I have so much gratitude for the wonderful staff at Brooke House.
My sister entered Brook House in July 2022. On my first visit, I was impressed with the home and staff. Since then my sister has had excellent care. The staff are so loving and caring. Their attention to detail is outstanding. The home is well maintained, food and drink are plentiful and of a good standard. The activities and fun days are well run. I am very satisfied with the care my sister gets at Brook House. Thanks to all the members of staff.
My husband, who had Vascular Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease, was a resident of Brook House from April 2022 until November 2022 when he passed away. I have only praise for every aspect of Brook House, especially all of the wonderful staff and their unfailing respect, kindness and loving care, which they gave not only to my husband but to all of our family. The rooms are warm and cosy, cleanliness is paramount and the food is exceptional with wine available for those who like a glass with their meals. The enrichment activities are many and varied, not only the organised events but also the impromptu ones when someone starts to sing and then all of the residents are singing - lots of fun for everyone! My daughter and I visited other care homes and when we came away after looking around Brook House she summed it up perfectly, when she said, ‘Mum we’ve seen several ‘care homes’ but Brook House is a ‘home that cares’, and it does.
Brook House care home is a fabulous place, and I am super happy that they are looking after my mum (who has dementia). There is a real brightness about the place, which shines through from the moment you are greeted at the door with a big smile. All the facilities are excellent, the food is absolutely gorgeous, having tried it for myself, and there is always something going on. The most important thing I can say about Brook House is that they really care about their residents and treat them with the dignity they all deserve. Top place and lovely team who are patient, understanding and kind.
Absolutely love Brook House Care Home, everyone is so welcoming, the food is to die for. Everyone looks so happy and contented and lots to do, there's never a dull moment. What a lovely way to spend the last years of life.
Brook House Care Home is truly a home-from-home. On entering you are always greeted by chatter and laughter from both residents and staff. Everyone always greets you in a friendly manner and the residents always seem very content and happy. The staff take time to engage with the residents and there are always a variety of activities and events being held. In the better weather, there are weekly trips out in the minibus. Residents are encouraged and supported to go out with their friends and family and any visitors are always made very welcome. The food served is of a very high standard and everyone really enjoys their meal times and some even enjoy a glass of wine two! It is always a pleasure to visit for the day.
