View Full Details of Deangate Care HomeMum has lived in Deangate Care Home since September 2024. A few weeks before Christmas I asked if my family and I could share Christmas day and have a meal with mum. No problem, was the answer, it could get busy though. On Christmas Day my wife and I and my two grown-up children arrived and to our joy we were lead into the cafe room and a table with all the trimmings had been arranged just for us. We all had a lovely relaxed meal and were able to chat with mum all afternoon. The staff were lovely and engaging. We never felt rushed to finish. We were left with lots of lovely memories of that special day. Thank you!
My heart goes out to carers for what they have to put up with from some of the people in care. There never seem to be enough carers.
We work with the home on various projects with the residents. The staff treat all the residents with care, dignity and respect. There is a real family atmosphere, myself and all the church volunteers feel a real part of the community whenever we come to do activities. The staff are caring, facilities are always clean and most importantly the residents are happy and well-loved.
When we first came to the home we didn't know what to expect. Everyone is so kind, the care is amazing mum is happy and settled. Absolutely excellent couldn't find a fault anywhere.
My mother has been a resident for over 4 years. She has high dependency needs, and throughout this time she had her complex care needs met. I would like to shout out for the manager who runs a lovely and friendly supportive team. The food is superb and they regularly run activities. My mother seems happy and content and I would find it difficult to fault any aspect of her stay here at Deangate Care Home.
The best care home I have ever been in. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Very attentive, such a a friendly environment to live in. I've been made to feel really welcome, I can honestly say I feel very comfortable and at home here.
Great atmosphere as you go in, friendly staff, nothing is too much trouble for them. Nice room. Lots of stimulation for residents with the activities coordinator there from 8am-5pm. Two lounge areas separated by French doors.
I visited my grandma in February, all staff seemed really friendly. My gran was sat in the lounge, she looked lovely. She'd had her hair cut and she looked settled. The activities coordinator was chatting to us and making us aware of upcoming events and to us and grandma about her past. This made me smile and I felt confident my gran was getting good care and attention.
All staff give me a warm welcome. My mum has told me how much she loves living in the home and loves the 'girls' (carers). She is always treated with dignity, respect and empathy. My mum is very anxious and the staff reassure her, she's not got a good appetite so they sit with her at mealtimes and encourage her. I have no worries about leaving my mum when I go home. A big thank you from all my family.
From the first day of my mother becoming a permanent resident at Deangate Care Home all of the staff have been extremely welcoming and friendly which enabled my mother to settle in very well. The staff are very caring and helpful and have a lovely interaction with the residents.
When admitted to Deangate Mum was made very welcome. She has dementia and Alzheimer's. Staff took her for some tea while we went through the paperwork. When we went to say bye to her she was sitting upright looking around, smiling and had found her voice. All these things she hasn't done for a long, long time. We as a family couldn't remember the last time we saw her smile. She's relaxed and comfortable. Thank you staff at Deangate.
The staff are all very good and caring and look after Mum really well. The cleaning of tops of wardrobes etc could be a bit better. Mum is very content and enjoys the food.
The care home is just what my mother needed. They are very caring and thoughtful of the residents' needs. The place always smells nice and the food/kitchen always gives off a good aroma. All the staff are lovely and kind.
I am extremely happy with the care my auntie is receiving at Deangate. The staff are very attentive to my auntie's increasing needs and always go that extra mile to ensure she is comfortable and well cared for.
Our aunty has only been in Deangate Care Home for a couple of months, but we are extremely happy with the care she is receiving. All the staff seem genuinely concerned and want to do their best to cater for my aunt's needs. The home always looks clean and tidy and from what I've heard, the meals are home-cooked and delicious. I have no concerns regarding the care my aunt is receiving.
It's my mum's first residential home, we weren't looking forward to Mum living away from us, but Deangate and all the staff have made Mum feel welcome and at home. They can't do enough for the residents - hospital appointments etc.
From day one, I have been satisfied with my wife's care. The staff are always willing to help should I need anything during my visit and they always look after my wife if she needs anything during my visit. I can go home after my visit knowing that my wife is getting the care and attention she needs. Overall, rating 5-stars.
Couldn't run a party in a brewery comes to mind. If I could name and shame I would but obviously, that's why you don't let reviews do this. You should take good and bad. It's been the worst seven and a half months of my life. Things surely can only get better. I would love to name the few people that have helped me with my progress, you know who you are, and all the kitchen staff are amazing and feed you. Amazing with what they have to work with. If you are reading this and you have family in this facility, I would say to keep your eyes open as lies and complaints have led to me being removed from this home because it's my leg I lost not my eyes and ears. I feel for the residents and the few carers that do really care as they get treated like a dogsbody. Sorry if you don't like this review but as I've always said I only tell truth and if the truth hurts then that's it. I hope the staff all get swapped around and let them run the place. I bet things would run more smoothly.
I like it here. Always made to feel comfortable and involved in choices about my care.
I think that it is run very well here and the staff are always very nice.
