View Full Details of Ridgeway HouseEveryone involved in my grandmother's care was absolutely wonderful - she couldn't have been in any better hands. The staff are endlessly patient and put so much time into making her experience (and ours!) enjoyable. I am so grateful for the care and attention they put in, from putting her paintings up on the wall to getting her favourite yoghurts - you can tell how much they care about the residents just from being there. Eternally thankful for everyone there.
My Mother moved into Ridgeway a couple of years ago, a confused old lady. She was unable to stay in her own home any more. She had everything she needed at Ridgeway, a clean warm room, personal care, good food, and a cup of tea at whatever time she wanted. She was much happier. I'd never seen her wear nail varnish until she moved to Ridgeway. They brought out a talent for painting that we didn't know she had. Thank you for making her last days comfortable and very peaceful. You were all so kind.
My mother moved into the Ridgeway in May 2023 and lived there until she passed away in February 2025. During her time living in the home we were extremely impressed by the kindness and compassion shown constantly by the staff. In her final few days the care shown by the staff to all the family was truly wonderful and we will always be grateful for that. Many thanks to all.
Overall I have been happy with the care that Mum has received at Ridgeway. The staff have all been friendly and professional, she has enjoyed the food, and her room is freshly decorated and carpeted. However, there have been a number of niggles and ' teething problems', which could probably have been resolved with better communication between staff members. I am aware that for much of the six weeks that Mum has been at Ridgeway, they have been undergoing organisational changes, and there is now a new manager in place, who seems very 'on the ball', and I hope that Ridgeway will fulfill its full potential under her management.
All staff are pleasant. The carpet in her room is filthy and should have been replaced/cleaned well before now. That is why I have rated very poor under cleanliness. No interaction with management. The alarm in her room does not work or not plugged in. I am only given information about my mum when I ask. I should be told about all recent events e.g. illnesses, bed sores etc. and any changes in medication. These can be sent by email unless urgent when I can be phoned. When I telephone to ask about Mum the members of staff are always upbeat and tell me how well she is doing - I know she is bedridden, incontinent, nearly deaf, cannot see and communication is virtually non-existent. I just want the facts. I am only contacted when money is involved. I appreciate that staff are hard to get but I sometimes find the spoken English hard to understand which makes it difficult for me even though they may be doing their best.
The whole establishment is 100% very good. I recommended my mother to stay here. The staff are superb, management are very good, everything is 100%. However, I would recommend probably two more staff members to relieve pressure on the staff.
My mother is a very shy, anxious 90-year-old. She has been bedbound since her discharge from hospital in December 2021. Her care has been outstanding. The time, love and compassion the staff show her, at all times of day, is remarkable as they are so busy. Cleanliness is super, meals are, as she says, 'delicious'! She is checked regularly, so never lonely. Activity-wise, she doesn't take part but loved the band and carols at Christmas.
We found the care home to be extremely warm and welcoming. Staff were very attentive, considerate and always willing to help. Our experience was extremely positive and we would happily recommend Ridgeway House to others who are seeking care for a relative.
Mum arrived at Ridgeway House on 18/01/2023 very confused and tired. The staff here in all aspects of care have been outstanding from day one and nothing is ever too much trouble. It is very difficult leaving a vulnerable loved one in the care of people you don't don't know, but I have no reservations whatsoever with the care my mum receives. They also keep me abreast of any concerns and changes to her health and regime which is very comforting. Very well one team Ridgeway, you are all amazing.
I think it's been a high experience. I've never been spoilt so much in all my life. The activities have been very good. In my short stay here I have listened to a talk from a charity helping children in Nepal, a talk from Guide Dogs for the blind, listened to a guitarist, heard from an animal rescue centre who brought in a rabbit, a tortoise, a ferret and a Guinea pig. We had a talk from a lady from the knitting and sewing guild. I would recommend here to anyone.
Choosing a care home for Mum was very daunting. However, we certainly made the right choice in picking Ridgeway. The main reason we know it was the right decision is down to the hardworking staff. Every member of the team at Ridgeway that Mum, and we as a family, have met has been kind, caring and respectful. Nothing is too much trouble for them and, as Mum says, "You can have a laugh and joke with everyone". The staff's positive attitude has gone a very long way in helping Mum to settle in so quickly. The building itself is light, airy, very clean and welcoming. Mum has a bright, spacious en-suite room, overlooking the garden, which she was encouraged to make her own with photos and ornaments. The choice of meals available is excellent and tailored to Mum's dietary needs. Activities are available for Mum and any residents who wish to join in and Mum certainly enjoys being pampered by the hairdresser who visits once a fortnight. I would highly recommend Ridgeway to others.
I visit the home on a regular basis as an advocate. I find the staff responsive and helpful. They seem to know their residents well and take steps to personalise residents' experiences and to respect their preferences. As an advocate, I have not seen all the facilities on offer, but the home has a pleasant dining area and an enclosed garden courtyard. The one lounge area that I have seen is divided by a ramp into a staff section and a seating area for residents. To me, this feels a bit like a thoroughfare and quite a busy space. However, there may be quiet lounges/areas that I have not accessed and some residents do have their own sitting room.
This is only our second visit due to the Covid situation. However, we always feel reassured that Mum is happy and well cared for. Staff are extremely welcoming and visits are very well organised to accommodate current restrictions as smoothly as possible.
My friend has only been in Ridgeway House for two weeks but when first contacting the home we had a good impression and feeling about the place. The staff could not have been more helpful and friendly as well as being very professional. Ridgeway House is immaculate in every way and is the best care home that I have visited by a country mile. I have had to visit many care homes all over Lincolnshire as a result of my profession and it is head and shoulders above any other care home that I have visited over the last 35 years. If you or your family have cause to use a care home then this is the one I would recommend without any doubt.
I myself am a Nurse / NHS Director with many years of experience of operating groups of care homes. My Mother has been a resident of this home for several years. I have absolutely no complaints. I find them considerate. The food is excellent. The staff are always pleasant and approachable. It’s very clean both inside and the outside environment too. I have nothing but praise as do all my family members for the care offered particularly through this difficult time. I don’t feel that the CQC rating reflects the overall standard currently. I accept there has been a change in management but I certainly will be contacting the CQC to offer my formal written praise for this home. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this home and its team.
The rooms were clean and tidy. Food was up to par and good. The manager was keen and fair.
I have been visiting my friend in the Ridgeway for about the last 2 years. Have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Having other nursing homes I find Ridgeway very comfortable and welcoming compared to others I have visited.
My mother has been a resident for two years. We live a considerable distance away and rely on Ridgeway House for her care needs. She has needed to attend hospital as an outpatient for the last few months and Ridgeway House have organised things so we can just visit and accompany her.
To go 'into care' is such a difficult decision for both the person and the family, but from being welcomed at the door onwards, we knew it would be OK! Kindness, help, support and showing empathy and care made it a smooth transition, and the home became home. Mum has been encouraged to engage with other residents, tempted by the food and cajoled to exercise and move to her best ability. We have peace of mind. Mum is fine - BRILLIANT!
