View Full Details of Clarence HouseMy father has been in your care for a few months now. As a family, we all agree that the staff at Clarence House have always shown a caring and kind nature, which has made the transition into care a much smoother process. Now he’s been there for a few months, he’s settled and less anxious, even now accepting this is home for him. On a personal level, I have found the staff to be welcoming and supportive, giving good advice based on their experience of dementia care. We consider ourselves fortunate to have our dad in your care.
I am writing to thank the manager and their team at Clarence House rest home. From the moment we contacted them, they supplied all of the information we needed and much more for my father's stay. On the day he moved in, the team were relaxed and did everything to help. The bedroom was spacious and well-appointed. Unfortunately, his stay was short but the staff kept us well informed daily and we were allowed to visit at all hours of the day and night. There was always a smile and a cup of tea to keep us going plus many biscuits. The day my dad passed away was a Saturday. Despite not being on duty, a particular member of staff made a special trip to meet us, to make the process smoother, which we appreciated greatly. Clarence House went above and beyond our expectations and we are so glad that we chose this home. On behalf of our family, we thank you for everything.
I cannot commend the staff and management of Clarence House Rest Home too highly. They cared for my mother for 6 years until her death aged 101 in December 2020. The doctor recorded her cause of death as 'frailty of old age'. That we had our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother for so long was due to the support, skill and intervention of the staff of the home. They monitored her wellbeing closely, calling the doctors and my sister and/or I promptly whenever there was any cause for concern, prioritising her needs proactively whenever required. My sister and I dispute the exact number of homes we viewed - it was between 20 and 30 - before alighting upon Clarence House as our choice. What characterised the home above all others immediately on arrival was the cheerfulness and laughter amongst the staff and their support for the residents. It was a choice easily made. The wisdom of our decision was reinforced as the time went by and as my mother needed additional care and attention.
The staff provide excellent care - they are highly professional and extremely caring. When my mother was ill on several occasions during her years there, and particularly in her final days, I felt very supported and cared for myself. My family and I cannot speak highly enough of the quality of attention and concern they have consistently shown to Mum and I will always be grateful to them. Management, nursing, auxiliary staff - all staff included.
My mother and mother-in-law were both residents at Clarence House Rest Home. The quality of care, understanding and respect they received were outstanding. The staff are very efficient, warm, friendly and very caring. Both mothers had different kinds of care requirements and each had care provided for their specific needs. We sadly lost both mothers, but they were both so happy to have had Clarence House as their final home.
We needed to find a nearby care home for our father, specifically in the Wimborne area. There are some very nice, large, hotel-like, and very expensive options around, but it was important to us that we found a friendly and caring environment for our lovely father. Clarence House immediately stood out as being the right place. Nearly 3 years on and we are very happy with the care provided plus the warmth of the staff. The manager and her team are great, the main lounge is excellent with plenty of activities for residents to engage in. The home have worked really hard throughout Covid and put their residents' health first throughout. Thank you to all the team!
We cannot thank you enough for everything you did for my father. All the team went above and beyond our expectations to ensure he felt happy, cared for and safe during his time with you and that means the absolute world to all of us family members. We couldn’t have asked for any more from any of you. Keep doing what you are doing - you are all amazing!
My mother arrived at Clarence House following a few weeks in hospital after which it became clear she could not return home. She spent just over 4 months at the home and we only moved her out to bring her to a similar home very near us, meaning I could visit regularly and avoid a 70-mile round trip. A few weeks after she joined Clarence House, covid became a real issue and lock-down began. Throughout, I was immensely impressed with how the care home dealt with what was an extremely difficult time for all concerned. I received regular updates and knew my mother was in the best hands. I appreciated that visiting was out of the question. She transferred to the new home towards the end of June with happy memories, especially for the staff who treated her with respect and kindness at all times. Thank you to everyone at Clarence House for your help and assistance.
This is the best care home I have ever been to, or had the privilege of visiting! The staff are just incredible, the garden and placement of the home are lovely, and the manager is the glue that sticks all this together to make one fantastic place to live.
Mum only lived at Clarence House for a short time and has now sadly passed away. I have nothing but praise for the staff for caring for Mum with compassion, dignity, respect and good humour. The measures and reaction to the lockdown were fantastic. The staff do an amazing job of making you feel welcome and at home from day one. I would have no hesitation in recommending Clarence house to anyone.
Mum moved into Clarence House, Mid January. We were welcomed like a member of a family and instantly made to feel at home. I cannot fault the care mum has received from the staff and in her own words "they are all lovely, so friendly and caring and always cheerful"
To me, one of the most important standards is the staff who cared for Mum. The carers are both kind and caring. The turnover of staff was low and feel that shows the home is a good and happy place to work. The patience shown as Mum's dementia increased was excellent and at no point after visits did I have any concerns when leaving.
Excellent care home with excellent and caring staff.
I was always greeted at Clarence House by a friendly member of staff. I was able to visit at any time which made me feel that although mum was being cared for by others, she was still my mum which was important to me. As a family, we could take mum out to family functions and enjoy her company and then return her to Clarence House knowing she was safe which gave us peace of mind. Extra care was given to her as needed at the end of her life.
I always felt welcome at Clarence House. Staff were warm and smiling. My requests were met positively, whether for Dad to go into the garden or for us to borrow a wheelchair or for staff time for a conversation with me. My father always turned himself out smartly when in his prime. I was grateful that at Clarence House his clothes were carefully washed, ironed and hung so he always looked as well-presented as his stooped state permitted. The same care went into the cleaning of the premises, which were spotless. The sound of the cleaning trolley was part of the background of my visits. Even the planter by the front door was well-tended. I also experienced Clarence House as a generous place, including the countless cups of tea which we were offered. Dad's meals looked appetising and he was offered a choice. He enjoyed the food at Clarence House and the good nutrition must have contributed to his recovery. Staff were generous with their patience towards Dad, which was touching to see.
Manager and her team are very caring and kind to the people in their care. Cheerful atmosphere, teams friendly, patients very happy.
My Mum had dementia and was a resident of Clarence House for 9 years. She has recently passed away. The care she received was outstanding. Mum was treated with care, love, dignity and respect at all times. I was not always able to visit with Mum as I lived abroad. I felt confident and was comforted by the care given to Mum. During her last hours, I was not with Mum but I know that someone was sat with her at all times. If you are in the position where you need to put a loved one into care, Clarence House should be definitely strongly considered. I know that I made the right decision for my Mum.
My mother passed away in her sleep at Clarence House last Thursday. It was unexpected in one way but at 92 with a failing heart, it was not a huge surprise. Living a good distance away, I have been visiting when I can and my sisters between them on a daily basis. Mum was so happy there, she often mentioned the good care that she received. She loved the staff and I believe that was reciprocated. It took me four hours to drive down. The doctor had not been, but the staff had arranged the covers and mum so beautifully and even found flowers for her pillow - flowers that mum loved so much. There is a wonderful atmosphere in the home, the staff treat the residents as friends. All four of us have nothing but heartfelt gratitude for the provision and staff. We wondered how mum would get on at living in a residential setting, Clarence House exceeded all our expectations. Thank you, everyone, for making mum's final years so happy and fulfilled
When my Father was rushed to hospital three years ago, my Mother was placed in Clarence House Care Home the same day by Social Services. My Father passed away a month later and my Mother remained in Clarence House until she passed away last month. Over the three years my Mother became bed-ridden and developed advanced dementia, and throughout that period, the Clarence House staff were unceasingly attentive and diligent to ensure she had the best of care with patience and understanding. Towards the end, the staff spent more and more time ensuring that she was as comfortable as possible. In the end, she wasn't left alone at all. The key to all this is the excellent management, supported by the trained and consistent staff, who remained virtually the same for the whole three years. Some of them have been there for much longer than that. In addition to that, they have the superb activity management. Clarence House is highly recommended in our view.
Clarence house has been the best possible place for my grandmother. We knew from the day we went to visit and were met int he car park. It made what we anticipated to be a difficult decision very easy and the care she has received ever since has been fantastic. In addition, the staff have been incredibly kind to visiting family members.
