View Full Details of Turfcote Care Home with NursingMy mother is a difficult case with complex needs and medication requirements. She is managed extremely well by staff and I am always kept up to date with developments. I can always rely on the care home to ensure she is clean and tidy and that she attends any medical appointments that may be necessary. She is kept safe and secure within the care home and there are pleasant surroundings and gardens to view.
My husband's mother is 98 and very happy, which makes us happy. The nurses are on strike for more money, well we think the carers should be paid the same as nurses for how hard they work. We have looked at a few care homes before choosing Turfcote and half of them stink.
The love and care our mother received during her two years living at Turfcote were absolutely exemplary. She was treated with dignity and respect, as were we. The staff are amazing. Mum was treated like family by the nurses and carers. We can’t thank everyone enough and would definitely recommend it.
Since moving to Turfcote Care home in October, my Mum was much happier and significantly more comfortable. She was treated with respect and dignity which she deserved and ensured that she was kept clean and well-fed. As you can understand, this was extremely important to us as she was a very special lady to us all, especially given her unfortunate experience in her previous residential home.
I cannot put into words how wonderful the staff have been when caring for my late grandad. He was treated with dignity, respect and kindness right up until his last day. The staff have been so kind and thoughtful at such a difficult time, particularly with what is going on at the moment with Covid19. We can not recommend this care home enough. My whole family sings the praises of the home, staff and communication with family members. We cannot thank you enough. Just know you are all wonderful people and we hope you continue this level of care always. You will be highly recommended.
The whole stay has been spot on. Carers are very friendly and so helpful. The food has been and is outstanding especially the soup each day. Staff have been and are so supportive and willing to give a helping hand on every occasion.
My parents moved into Turfcote when my mother had to accept nursing care after a fall and my father elected to keep her company. This was not an easy decision - my parents were fiercely independent. My father and I selected Turfcote from a number of homes because it felt warm, friendly and welcoming. It was an excellent choice! Every member of Turfcote staff, whatever their duty, is incredibly caring and supportive and every aspect of their care is brilliant. My father finally had the help that he needed to care for my mother and support, at 89 years of age, for himself. My mother unexpectedly passed away shortly after - but her last months were less stressful for her and, especially, my father than they would have been. Turfcote were brilliant in their support of my father and made my mother's passing much less painful and difficult. My father is now a resident on his own - and, as ever, Turfcote are excellent in his care and support. It is a great comfort to know that he is in a safe and caring place.
I visited all of the care homes in the area looking for a place for Mum and then shortlisted 3 to visit with my Father. I already had my own definite favourite, so I was pleased when my Father also agreed that Turfcote was the best place - and by a long way! We talked to various members of staff before making the final decision and found them all to be professional, compassionate and caring. Mum has now been in Turfcote for 4 months. Everything is spotlessly clean and the staff are extremely professional. I have to say that I now no longer worry about Mum. I know she is in the best hands. Turfcote is very different from all the other places that we visited. It doesn’t feel like a hospital or an institution, it just feels like a calm, welcoming place, where you know that your loved one is being well-cared for. Dad has also recently been diagnosed with dementia, so if and when the time comes, I would not hesitate to have him cared for there as well. I wouldn't even look anywhere else.
A massive thank you to all staff and management who looked after my sister. There appeared to be no problem with the release of information when I asked them what the position was. I realise how difficult and frustrating it must be, so with heartfelt thanks once more, it is appreciated. yours faithfully
My mother has been a resident of Turfcote for 5 years. In this time I have visited annually and always found the care to have been of an excellent standard. Given I reside in Australia I tend to stay for long periods of time when I visit so am privy to the daily comings and goings over the course of a week or so. It's not an easy task looking after such a varied group of ageing people and the team at Turfcote do so with kindness and compassion.
My aunt has been a resident of Turfcote for some five years. I have been delighted with the care she has received. The manager and her team have provided a safe, clean, protected environment for her and clearly do their best to ensure her contentment. They are quick to respond to the family's requests and have adapted to her changing needs really well. I feel safe leaving my beloved aunt in their care and she often comments on their kindness.
Both my parents moved to Turfcote in October 2014, sharing a beautiful and large double room. Sadly as time progressed the needs of my parents diverged - they both needed different care and this was all recognised and taken care of seamlessly by the staff. After my mother passed away, my father's mental health deteriorated and - again very smoothly - he was transferred to the dementia unit. My father was always treated with the utmost respect and care - the staff (who were fantastic) really cared about him. Thank you Turfcote!
My wife moved into the home two weeks ago. I find all the staff friendly with patients and visitors. The home is always clean and tidy on my daily visits. All patients are happy and look to be looked after with care. The staff are always polite with patients and visitors. The bedroom my wife has is clean and tidy and is a good size for one person. What I have seen of the meals given are of good variety with help given if required for patients to eat as much as they can. There are games to entertain people, books to read or to be looked through. Staff try to get to know patients background in their previous life so they can talk about the past and bring back memories.
