View Full Details of Meadowbrook HouseMy mother seems settled, as we only visit at the weekend we don't see the activities. It would be good to see a timetable or schedule for these. I might have missed it (I appreciate also she cannot participate in some) but it would be good to know what she does other than sit in the TV room. Staff interact with her when we are there and she has drinks and snacks. Where is the menu so we can use it as a topic for conversation? She is always clean and has her nails done sometimes which is great. Thank you for your care.
I visited my brother as he was having final care in the home. I had to travel from my home in Sheffield and stay in a hotel nearby. The staff were very helpful from my first phone call enquiry and made what I was expecting to be a very difficult experience calm and natural. All the staff demonstrated what I felt was genuine care and consideration for both my brother in care, his partner, his daughter, my sister, visiting friends and myself. We were able to visit at any time and stay as long as we wanted. His friend from the Morris dancing group they were part of was allowed to bring his mandolin into the room, and we shared 2 hours of music that he was part of the day before he passed away, he was showing a little bit more alertness on this day. Because of this help, I was present the next morning when my brother passed away. The moment was very calm and peaceful and I believe this was only possible because of the professional but caring way all the staff there carried out their work.
I act as Power of Attorney for one of the residents here. I have visited many homes in my capacity as a Minister of Religion. I have found Meadowbrook House to be the best home by far. It is always a pleasure to visit.
As soon as you walk in the door you are welcomed very warmly. The staff are so caring to residents and their families. The place is clean, tidy and the food is great. Home from home for the residents. Best care home I have visited, the management always ready to assist and help with any needs that arise.
My experience with Meadowbrook House has been really good. All the staff are second to none and most important my husband likes them.
Mum has been a resident here since September 2022, and I cannot fault the care and attention she has received since moving in. Housekeeps, carers, nursing staff, admin staff and catering staff are all excellent.
My mum became a resident at Meadowbrook House in July 2023, first impressions were what a lovely, clean, friendly home, the staff and management excel in everyday, doesn't matter who you see there you always get the same happy smiley faces. My mum has settled in and loves the staff who care for her. I have peace of mind that she is being well looked after and lovely food.
All the staff are caring, friendly and professional. My husband received amazing care. I cannot praise them enough they were always making sure he was comfortable and pain-free. They also listened to any worries I had and showed great kindness towards me. The atmosphere in the home is warm friendly and relaxed and the meals are delicious.
Outstanding staff. Could not have wished for my grandmother to be in a better place. The staff are so kind and caring, thought of everything. Places like these are hard to find, especially with current circumstances, but the care my grandmother and our whole family received was exceptional. Thank you.
Our Mother became a resident (family member) of Meadowbrook House a year ago. Mum has advanced dementia and can be characterful. This is our first experience with a care home. The level of care the team at Meadowbrook have afforded to Mum has been outstanding. The home truly feels like a family home, and all the residents considered as part of the family. I am extremely impressed by the way the home is managed in all capacities whether it be carers, nurses, the catering or domestic team, the activities team through to the handymen who ensure each resident has their pictures in place and everything is as they would like it. Its a credit to the group. Thank you.
My mother has been living at Meadowbrook for about 18 months. She is at the end of life now and I can say emphatically that I and my family could not have asked for or been given better care. I have always been given utmost confidence in the team of staff (night and day care) that they carry out their duties with loving compassion, care and dignity. Thank you.
I think it is an excellent home for my wife and they look after her very well. From what I can see, the food is very good. The staff are very friendly to everyone who comes in to see her. I class it all around as very good.
During the eleven weeks that my mother was cared for by all the staff, the service could not have been more considerate. The support that I received throughout my mother's terminal cancer was exceptional, especially from the nursing staff.
Meadowbrook House has amazing staff who care, not only for their residents but the families too. It's clean, friendly and all the staff are dedicated and committed to each other and the residents they care for. The nursing staff are professional and I trusted their judgement to the end. They became an enormous part, not only of my dad's life but mine too. Wonderful, amazing people who care.
I wish my Dad had more time at Meadowbrook House. He only had two weeks in their care and it was so refreshing coming from hospital into Meadowbrook. All his needs were met and even beyond everything was excellent and nothing was a problem. Dad was unable to take part in activities but would have if he was more able.
My husband spent the last 10 days of his life at Meadowbrook. He was looked after with great care, understanding and sympathy. I am truly grateful, it is just a shame the time was so short.
My Mother in Law was a resident at Meadowbrook for 11 months before she died. We could not fault the loving care she received whilst there. From the cleanliness of the home (no smells) to the wonderful food and the excellent nursing care, all was superb. We could relax in the knowledge that she was well cared for and enjoy visiting and spending time with her. The staff became a surrogate family to her and we know they genuinely feel her loss as we do. Thank you, Meadowbrook for everything.
My uncle was only at Meadowbrook for a few weeks as he came in requiring 'end of life care'. During his short time there the staff made him feel comfortable and showed a high degree of care and attention. The staff were friendly and understanding. The chef went out of her way to find meals that he could eat during his short time there. I witnessed the utmost care in the home, the staff seemed happy and willing to help in any way they could to make his last days as manageable as possible.
Dad has lived at Meadowbrook House since February 2018. The past week has seen Dad receiving palliative care. I have spent up to eight hours each day at Meadowbrook and have witnessed outstanding care and support. Firstly and most importantly the care that Dad receives is professional, considerate, friendly and always delivered with a smile and patience. Dad is happy and content and is made to be as comfortable as possible. Secondly, the support that my family and I have received has been incredible! I could not have got through this past week without them. I will be eternally grateful to every one of them for this. Throughout the week, I have witnessed fantastic care for all the other residents to the same standard as my Dad. The home has a lovely positive energy and drives to deliver the best care possible. Thank you so much Meadowbrook team for your outstanding care and support! You should be very proud of yourselves. Just brilliant! Cheers.
Respite stay May 2018. Staff encourage you to do as much for yourself even if it took longer. My family noticed no odours in common areas - always a good sign. Nurses & carers were clear nothing was too much trouble, day or night. Bells were quickly answered. Personal care, medication, meals, were all adjusted to my needs which made it feel more like home. My special diet was well managed. Once they got to know me I didn't need to repeat myself over personal preferences, which can be tiring. Checks were made overnight when doing pad changes but they try to keep the noise down - understanding the importance of sleep! Everyone seemed to enjoy their jobs which makes a difference. I'd hear them chatting to residents, laughing, even having a sing-along. The activities coordinator spoke about my hobbies & gave me craft projects to pass time. The only improvement would be name badges, as it's hard to keep track of faces. I would thoroughly recommend Meadowbrook for respite/long-term care.
