View Full Details of Cowbridge Residential Care HomeWell overall, pleased with dads care. All the carers very good and caring. My only concern has been all along is there never appears to be enough staff to allocate 10 minutes - 30 minutes per day to take dad for a long or short walk depending on how he feels. This greatly affects his mental health. He is very independent still, but does love his walk each day. He requires very little care other than this. He has a 10 minute walk at the moment, just to get some fresh air and that's all. It is in his care plan, but wonder how much of this plan is followed. Also I have no way of checking what dads doing with the new computer system.
My mum is at Cowbridge Residential Care Home and this will be her first Christmas away from her home. She is so well settled that she feels this is home and is looking forward to Christmas. Today, we have joined mum and all residents for a wonderful Christmas lunch. The amazing staff team work so hard to look after families too and to make sure we are included. Highly recommend.
My partner was in Cowbridge Residential Care Home for 11 months and all the time he was there, all the staff in every department were so good with him. They were so caring, always cheerful and when I visited him they always made me feel very welcome with tea or coffee as soon as I walked through the door. I can feel happy that my partners last few months before he passed away, he was full of love from family, friends, and all staff at Cowbridge. Thank you all.
We went to the family Christmas dinner, the home is lovely. Staff friendly and can't do enough for residents. The home is kept clean and residents are occupied and encouraged to join in.
The family Christmas lunch was a wonderful experience, the staff were so friendly and my Dad said how much he felt the spirit of Christmas. Dad has been a resident here for just over 12 months and he is always complimentary about the level of care and how attentive the staff are.
We had a lovely Christmas dinner with mum here today. The staff made a lovely early Christmas day. It feels like home from home. Mum's been here for a few weeks now and she looks so much happier. She settled in really well. All the staff make you feel really welcome. It's a massive relief when you know that your mum's getting looked after really well. The staff are amazing, so friendly and professional.
My grandmother came into this care home towards the beginning of this year and she has settled in so well. The home is always tidy and clean. The staff are so friendly and always in high spirits and spreading their happiness and smiles. They have the most amazing team of staff, and host fabulous events and things for other family members to attending, encouraging still being able to make wonderful memories! They have a week planned of things to keep them occupied as well as pamper and nail/hair activities. She was even able to make me a Christmas tree decoration this year, which she loved doing! This home is so welcoming and very good with communication about nan's well being and health.
Cowbridge has just put on the most incredible family Christmas lunch for the residents and their family. They always go above and beyond to provide the most amazing family experiences. Making sure the residents and their families have wonderful memories. The staff all work so hard and provide so much care and compassion to each and every resident. My mother is so settled and happy and I know she is always getting exceptional care.
Whilst my father has been in residence at Cowbridge, he has received the best care possible. Because we are not local to the area, we have always had updates and have also made use of the WiFi meaning that we can video call Dad. The staff have always made us welcome when we have visited providing drinks and biscuits. The whole team are very passionate towards residents and families.
I would like to express how impressed I am with the professional compassionate care Cowbridge staff show towards my friend who can be quite a challenge at times. The manager in particular knows just how to help my friend when he's having a difficult time. I have full confidence my friend is receiving the highest kind of care and his needs are being met.
Wonderful atmosphere, caring staff extremely understanding, patient and friendly. Great food. It was more like staying with family. Lots of hugs and best wishes when Mum left even by kitchen staff, although it was respite for her I had the feeling she wanted to stay longer, she made some good friends amongst residents and staff lots of laughs and she came home much brighter than when she went in. Thank you to everyone at Cowbridge for taking such good care, time and love during Mum's stay. Mum has already said she wants to go back for her next respite.
I had a lovely time whilst in respite. Staff showed a great deal of care, consideration and catered to all my needs. Cooking (food) was excellent.
We popped along to Cowbridge to visit a friend and join in with the Easter egg hunt. The home is a very welcoming place and all the staff are friendly and went to great efforts to make us feel welcome. My son enjoyed meeting everyone and it was great to see everyone getting involved.
My mum has now been in Cowbridge for about six months, not able to return home after a fall. It has taken several weeks for her to settle, but the staff have been absolutely fantastic. Could not wish for any better.
From the outside, the home looks lovely. However, the room my relative was allocated was dark, gloomy and only had an internal window facing into a squalid uncared-for courtyard. There was no room for personal belongings, and the furniture supplied was standard hospital issue. There was no en-suite just a commode chair situated in line with the door which was kept propped open. Everyone walking past stared in at her like she was an exhibit in a zoo. She was taken to the bathroom by 2 male carers. There was no privacy, no luxury and my relative called it a prison.... all for £1000 per week. The staff were polite but clueless and, when the Council decided to move her, refused to pass on any information about her to her new care providers. She has since moved to another (cheaper) home with en-suite facilities, knowledgeable cheerful staff, and is much happier.
Staff are really good here, I have no problem with anyone here, even the gardener is really friendly. Food is nice and everything is perfect! I'd rather be home but I can't be, because I have dementia, but there is nowhere else I'd rather be!
Mom was admitted to this home from hospital. After two weeks she has settled very well and we, as a family, are delighted. Upon admittance, the manager was exceptionally helpful and reassuring. We found that all staff we came in contact with were both charming and helpful. Mom is very happy here and interacts very well considering her disability. This is down to the staff and the leadership of a very good manager. We are so grateful.
Overall, I'm happy with their care and the staff but would like more information on the state of their health etc.
Excellent care. Always kept informed. The manager is excellent.
A wonderfully situated residential home with fantastic views and home from home feel. The staff are warm, friendly and caring, putting the needs of the residents first. The food is amazing and the additional activities that residents can participate in are excellent.
