View Full Details of Windmill CourtThere is a distinct lack of communication both internally and externally, and the administration leaves much to be desired. The nursing staff are excellent, but there is a lack of daily interaction with residents who are confined to their rooms, which leaves my aunt feeling isolated and lonely. There still seems to be a shortage of staff, and those staff that are there always appear rushed, and there is still an atmosphere of unrest. Would like to see more permanent staff and less Agency. Daily personal care requires improvement, as showers are refused on a regular basis. Residents' rooms are given a deep clean once a week, but the daily cleaning regime needs attention. On a more positive note, my aunt is always clean and dressed nicely in well laundered clothes. The hairdresser and beauty therapist are nice extras, but there have been no regular activities for residents to participate in during the month. The home is currently undergoing a welcome refurbishment programme.
Thanks to the staff for the care, attention, patience and indeed love.
We have found all the staff caring and supportive to my sister and to us. They have been very accommodating with our requests. My sister's care has been exemplary in terms of her medical needs and her dietary needs. My sister's last weeks have been full of ways to make very special memories for her and the staff have been both encouraging and supportive of the activities that have been arranged and at the same time taking account of her wishes and needs. All staff have been sensitive to her condition, including the occasions when she was distressed. Communication between manager, nursing staff and care staff and family has been exceptional in our view.
There is a great lack of communication between the manager and resident's families. There seems to be unrest amongst the staff who are doing a very good job. There is a lack of transparency with resident's daily care and their families. The outside of the home is looking very shabby. Windows and guttering are disgraceful. However, I cannot fault the care staff. I wish there were more permanent staff.
My friend has just enjoyed 2 weeks of respite at Windmill Court. I am very pleased to say that the care is fantastic, the Manager is supportive and runs a beautiful clean home. One can see that each member of staff wanted to be there, in fact so did I! Friends and loved ones are welcomed in to visit. The cleaning team, laundry department keep everything looking good. The chefs are passionate with their menus. The activities coordinator keeps everyone stimulated with fun things to do and live singers. The nurses each and everyone are amazing. Last but certainly not least every carer is a darling and has empathy and intelligence to give in abundance. Thank you so much for looking after my dearest friend and we will see you all soon.
I am very impressed with all the care given to my husband. He is treated as an individual. All staff seem to know him and his needs. They are very aware of his conditions. I was a nurse in my employment and know good care.
My friend is a resident of Windmill Court and has been there for several months. She is extremely well looked after there and is very happy to be there. The home, in general, is immaculate and the staff and management are extremely professional and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble and they go the extra mile to ensure comfort and dignity is if the highest level.
As a family, we are so impressed with Windmill Court. The home is clean bright and happy. There is a wide range of daily activities, and often families/friends are invited to attend and enjoy the entertainment. The food is delicious and nutritious. Staff are friendly, kind and courteous, nothing is too much trouble. They really care about the residents and their families. Management is extremely helpful and efficient. I am so glad we chose Windmill Court for Dad.
The staff are caring and supportive to both the residents and their families. All staff are extremely friendly and take time to get to know the residents. There are regular activities for those who want to participate in a varied weekly entertainment programme. Mum loves the visits from the pony. Virtually all rooms are ensuite and on a single level. Food is a familiar favourite and tailored to the individual. Mum eats well and enjoys the food. The home smells fresh and clean. We feel confident that Mum is receiving good care and would highly recommend Windmill Court.
Windmill Court and the staff have been amazing. Both Mum and Dad were residents together whilst Dad received palliative care. Since we lost Dad, Windmill Court has been amazing. They not only look after all of Mum's complex needs but also make sure the family are alright too. Mum is happy, well fed and cared for. We are so glad we found Windmill Court at this time. Thank you.
My 96-year-old Mum has been living at Windmill Court since August last year. She decided herself that she needed more care than we could provide for her in her own home. We as a family decided that the care provided at Windmill Court was just what she needed. Mum really likes her room and has a beautiful view of the countryside. She also enjoys going to lunch and is now joining in more with the excellent activities provided. She especially enjoys the singers who regularly come! The weekly visits of the hairdresser and beauty therapist are also a great asset to Windmill Court. But the staff are the most important part of her care. They are kind, considerate and friendly yet always professional. Nothing is too much trouble and they involve the family when discussing her care and contact us if necessary.
Our 88 year old Mum who has Alzheimer's, has recently been admitted to Windmill Court, after trying every other care package that is available, even 24 hour live in care. Sadly this was like many other families, the very last thing we as a family wanted to do, but for Mum's safety and continuity of care, it was the only option left for us. At Windmill Court nothing is too much trouble, the building is very clean and comfortable, warm and welcoming. We can call Mum up at any time, and she is settling in well. Mum has the choice of what she wants to eat, has the option to eat with the other residents, or in her own room. The dining room is set out beautifully, with linen cloths and it is welcoming for the residents. Mum has an ensuite toilet and wash basin, which I feel is adequate, as if there were a shower included, it might be that Mum would attempt to shower herself, and this could well bring about falls, as it did when she was at home. We are glad that Mum is safe and cared for now.
My Mum has only just moved into Windmill Court, the staff are very friendly and warm and my Mum’s care so far has been excellent. Over the years I have known many residents there and the standard of the home and staff have always been exemplary and nothing seems to have changed! Such a relief to know that my Mum is in good hands.
Very good care and very friendly staff even when they are short staffed. My father is very impressed with the quality of the food and the variety on offer. If he asks for cake with his afternoon cup of tea, the staff are always willing to bring some even if it means going back to collect it.
My mother has received excellent care since her admission a few months ago. The staff are friendly, kind, caring and supportive. The home is clean and has a peaceful, happy atmosphere. My only issue is that her room is limited in size and as my mother is bed-bound there is little room for more than 2 visitors. However, I would definitely recommend Windmill Court.
Our 95 year old mother is staying in Windmill Court as she is no longer able to care for herself and is very happy there. The Manager, the nurses and the carers are professional, friendly and are very kind. They look after our mother very well, are very respectful and give careful attention to all her needs. Windmill Court has a very happy environment and is a beautiful well kept residential home. The choice of food and how it is presented is second to none. My two sisters and I feel very pleased that our mother is being very well cared for in her later years.
My sister has been in Windmill Court for over 7 years, the nursing and general care is excellent, my point of contact is the deputy manager and she is fantastic. Overall the staff are always helpful, my sister is clean, well fed and most certainly in excellent hands, what more could I wish for.
Very pleasant staff who have always kept me informed in regards to my husband's complex health needs. As he is bedbound he is unable to take part in any activities. His food is completely blitzed to a puree, although he is capable of biting veg so that is a disappointment to him. I am very happy with his standard of care.
It is like a home from home.
Windmill Court is a smaller facility with incredibly friendly staff who clearly care about the residents. As a family member, I have found them likewise very approachable and helpful particularly when seeking clarity or having questions over Mum's care. The facilities, whilst very spotlessly clean are more limited in terms of the sizes of the rooms and the absence of an ensuite shower. This may not be relevant to all residents but it is to Mum hence the feedback. It can be difficult to gain access out of hours as the staff are often very busy. In summary, the staff at the home have become like friends to me personally in how I am greeted and the invaluable assistance I am provided. Thank you for the care and attention that is provided to Mum
