View Full Details of Summerdyne Nursing HomeMy mother was a resident at Summerdyne Nursing Home for 18 months. She had Alzheimer's and following a fall at home which cause a fracture she became unable to walk we could no longer care for her at home. Summerdyne was amazing from day one. The staff are great and really care. The activities are amazing my mum was really happy. She passed away in her home with the amazing care till the end.
The nursing home has a lovely peaceful atmosphere which is created by the management and filters down to all members of the staff. Every attempt is made to make sure the residents are in a stress free environment, that they are relaxed, and that all their needs are being met. All dignity is preserved when receiving personal care or dealing with sensitive issues. The staff remain professional and respectful and will either give advice or find someone who can.
Everyone was very helpful and kind. Nothing was too much of a problem when I asked a question. Very good.
Mum was a resident at Summerdyne Nursing Home, for four years from 2021 until she passed away in March. Throughout that time the care that Mum received was exemplary in all aspects, personal care, activities, food and drink. Her room and clothing were always kept beautifully. End-of-life care was sensitive and respectful. Most highly recommended.
The staff are extremely professional and sincere. Summerdyne has a lovely atmosphere, and you feel that everyone really cares. The standard of care was extremely high. Dad couldn't have been in a better place. We can't recommend them enough.
As a family, we are extremely pleased with the care Dad received. The staff were so attentive and always greeted him with affection. Dad was in the new part of "Summerdyne", so his room was lovely with great views. He thoroughly enjoyed the food! The staff always made visiting Dad enjoyable as they always acknowledged us and took time for updates.
Mum passed away at Summerdyne earlier this month. The care and attention prior to her passing was nothing short of exemplary. During her stay at Summerdyne, she was always treated with compassion and humour by the care home staff, who showed the same warmth and humour to visiting family and friends. Spontaneous visits to Mum were always fully encouraged, day or night. I would highly recommend Summerdyne if you are looking for a home where you want peace of mind knowing that your loved one is in safe and caring hands.
My mother has resided in Summerdyne since June 2023. The family were unsure if she would settle, but she is very happy. Mum is well cared for and enjoys the company of all the staff. Family and friends visit frequently and all are made welcome. There is never an inconvenient time to call and I can go at any time to see Mum. All rooms are clean, tidy and you are made to feel at home.
The lifestyle and wellbeing lead and her assistant took over in May 2023. I feel that the girls have gone above and beyond with their kindness towards my husband. I have very often arrived to see the lifestyle and wellbeing assistant sat in his room, trying to persuade him to take part in various activities. My husband's life always revolved around cricket, football, rugby union and garden birds. He is a lifelong Wolves supporter, also Shrewsbury Town. The girls have tried to organise sporting events for him. Personally, I think these two girls truly care about the lifestyle and wellbeing of the residents at Summerdyne. Thank you for all your input with my husband.
I find them truly professional and treat all the residents with respect and dignity, catering for their personal and mental needs. The team bring joy and smiles to the resident's faces. Thank you for caring for my auntie.
I am very impressed with Summerdyne. My mum had been in a couple of others prior to getting a place there, and this far outstrips the other two. Mum has been there for coming up to two years, and the improvement in her is amazing. The staff are lovely, kind and very approachable. Summerdyne was recommended to me by another resident's son, who said it was like being part of a big family, and I have to agree that that is my experience too.
The staff were kind and caring and made me feel at home immediately. From the home visits by the manager, I felt I would be looked after well during my respite stay. All staff could not do enough for me. The food was very good. I enjoyed the activities, such as the visiting birds of prey. The handyman was extremely kind and helpful, just like all the staff. It was good to see the manager mixing with the residents on a daily basis.
My experience at Summerdyne Nursing Home has been fantastic. The staff are really friendly there and are passionate about their job. They get the residents engaged with lots of different activities, so everyone can participate and socialise. They have a wide range of facilities at the home which everyone can access and which are well maintained. The food and drink that are served there are good quality meals that are nutritious and healthy. The rooms are clean and spacious for the residents. I think Summerdyne is a lovely nursing home who have your best interest at heart.
Sociable, friendly staff. Food is very good.
My mother-in-law has been at Summerdyne for some time now, and she loves it. The staff are great and so accommodating. I recently got married (to her son!), and the staff made sure that she got to the wedding in all her finery, and she looked fantastic. There was also someone with her all the time, so we didn't have to worry. They do loads of other activities too, and we have often joined them in the garden for a sing-a-long with local musicians. Watching the staff with all the residents is humbling and heart-warming. I really hope there is somewhere like this if I ever need it!
My mum has been at Summerdyne for over a year now, and I have not known her to be as happy as she is now. All of the staff are so friendly, and I don't know how they pack so many activities in; they are always doing something or visiting somewhere, whether this is the safari park or various singers coming in or just celebrating someone's birthday. Mum appears on Facebook more often than the rest of the family put together! I feel, in some ways, that they have given me my mum back, and although she cannot speak very well, we can have a giggle like we used to when I was young. It's a real pleasure to go and visit and see the relationship she has with staff members. I really cannot thank you enough
My father was cared for with the utmost respect and dignity whilst at Summerdyne. All of the staff we encountered were truly wonderful, caring, very deeply, and going above and beyond what would be expected. All of our requests and wishes were acted upon swiftly, and nothing seemed too much trouble. I have enormous respect for all of the staff who work at Summerdyne, and I am deeply grateful for everything they did.
My mother spent 7-months at Summerdyne. She was immediately welcomed into Summerdyne and treated with kindness. Covid restrictions impacted approximately two months of her time there, but gradually activities developed once again allowing the residents to enjoy interests in the garden, arts and creativity, dance etc. This brought pleasure to the Summerdyne community. Even when mum was unable to join in an activity a treat was shared with her in her room. The staff worked hard to find out what she liked. Mum was kept very clean, encouraged to eat as her appetite waned and treated with dignity and respect, particularly in her final weeks. As a family, we are so pleased we found Summerdyne their care, kindness and teamwork are a credit to them all. I loved hearing staff laugh with residents.
The staff are very observant, and I feel we are well looked after.
My experience has been brilliant and the staff have been friendly and h helpful. My nan is h happy in the home even though she struggled to start with because at 102 she suddenly couldn't walk. She has fun with the staff and they are very caring. They are always pleasant and happy and helpful. I am glad we chose this home for my nan to live out the rest of her years.
