View Full Details of Hillcrest Manor Nursing HomeI am a friend of a resident and have Power of Attorney for the resident. My friend has been a resident since November 2024. Our experience of Hillcrest Manor has been very good in all aspects of care.
I am extremely pleased with the kindness with which my two friends are looked after. There as so many activities that they can join in with when they want to. It is expensive, as all care homes are, but I can't think of anything that needs improving.
All of the staff are warm and friendly. Both to residents and family. Nothing is too much trouble. Having been through a journey of stress and encountering indifferent attitudes, the staff at Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home have shown empathy and real care. Always keen to answer questions and if they are not sure they will find out. Dad is treated with dignity and respect.
My beloved wife has been a resident of Hillcrest Manor Nursing Home for some months now and I feel it is time for me to express my deep gratitude for all the wonderful care and support she has received. Her dementia is fairly advanced now and I cannot fault the level of care and attention all the staff provide for her. They are friendly and approachable and always so willing to answer my concerns or just talk about how she is. Nothing seems too much trouble and there is always time for them to do their best and show kindness in meeting her needs. I always feel welcome when visiting and am always offered to share a meal if I am there at lunchtime. It does feel like everyone is happy to be part of the team and always do their best under the excellent leadership.
Beautiful location and great staff, couldn't ask for a better place for my mother. Very clean and tidy and always so welcoming. I would highly recommend this place to anyone, always look forward to visiting here.
I am writing this to express my deepest gratitude to all of the staff for the love and care they have given my partner over the last five years and for the kindness and support they have always shown to me. At the onset of COVID-19, I was fortunate in being permitted to become a volunteer so that I was able to continue being with her daily and remained in that role for two and a half years. For that privilege, I will be eternally grateful. Because of that close contact, I can attest to the extremely high standards that are achieved in all aspects of the care provided and the wonderful atmosphere and staff interaction with residents now so dominant in the Nursing Home. Thank you all.
After my husband who had dementia died in Hillcrest Manor (his death was handled with kindness and sensitivity) I realised what an enormous support the staff had been for me and I really missed seeing them all and visiting the home. I have just returned four months on and feel overwhelmed by the welcome I received from the staff and their kindness. Hillcrest was an excellent choice for the last 10 months of my husband's life.
This is a wonderful nursing home!!! I booked my partner here for respite in October 2024 and it was such a positive experience for both of us. I had a rest knowing that he'd be in totally safe and professional hands and he was able to experience kindness and care in a beautiful setting. He has PD and Dementia and they were able to meet all his needs whilst nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommended!!
This month Mum has been cared for very well. The staff are always very friendly, the rooms are very tidy and fresh. Mum's room looks lovely as my sister has made the room more homely with pictures on the wall and a very nice lamp and all the things that Mum loves.
My mother has been a resident since June this year. She has settled in better than I dared hope, she appears calmer and more at ease. She likes the staff, who treat her with respect and dignity and seems to enjoy the numerous activities that are provided. I would highly recommend if anyone needs somewhere for a loved one, that they look at this home.
My mother has been at Hillcrest Manor for 4 months now and I would highly recommend it. The staff are lovely, the rooms are clean, the food is good and there are many activities for her to get involved in. Thank you all.
The staff at Hillcrest have cared brilliantly for my father and were very sympathetic and helpful when he recently passed. I can't thank them enough for the care they showed him and would highly recommend them to anyone.
Admission to a Nursing Home after years of personal care at home was a major and challenging step for my partner with Dementia and myself. It was made so much easier by the wonderful care and kindness given to her by all the staff from the outset. She has settled now into her new routine with remarkable ease. Her needs are being fully met and her challenging behaviour is accepted far better than I could have ever imagined possible. It is such a reassurance to know that her regular care is covered so well allowing me to engage with her as a friend and partner instead of a main carer. I can only thank all the team for facilitating this change as we now both enjoy walking in the wonderful parkland around Hillcrest Manor with the backdrop of the beautiful Shropshire Hills.
At a time of urgency, the manager and her team really supported Mum and her family by stepping into the breach at extremely short notice. That really helped us and I will always be grateful and appreciate that. Since being at Hillcrest Mum has been dealt with on a highly professional and caring basis. Strong leadership, integrity and trust. The setting is not quite right for Mum so on that basis, we have moved her elsewhere.
I come to visit my friend at Hillcrest; it is a lovely home, and he is very well looked after. Over the last year, I have noticed that the staff has increased, and I see the same ones when I visit. The nurses are always around to ask questions. I take my friend out in the lovely gardens, the activities staff have planted new blubs and worked hard to make it a lovely space to sit.
My wife has been a resident at Hillcrest Manor for nearly a year. She is very settled and myself and my family are very happy with all aspects of her care. The staff are very friendly and always do their best. We are currently organising a party for her and this will be held at the home with help from all the staff. My wife enjoys all the activities, especially the live music and holy communion and the visits from the local churches as her faith is very important to her.
My Brother was cared for at Hillcrest for the last four years of his life. Throughout this time his behavior could be challenging at times, however, the excellent standard of care compassion, and empathy shown by all members of staff was exemplary. I might add that since the arrival of the new Manager, I have seen a great improvement in every aspect of care. A lovely final touch was having a member of staff (The Activities Co-Ordinator) attend my Brother’s funeral. I didn’t expect that anyone would attend. A heartfelt thank you to all the staff.
Mum has recently moved into Hillcrest Manor. She is improving and settling in well. She has a lovely room. I am very pleased with her care. If I need help with anything, I know I can talk to the manager or any of the staff. Mum is now getting involved with activities, today she sang the Welsh National Anthem, ate some Welsh cakes, and two lambs visited her in bed. I would recommend this home.
The dedication and professionalism of all the Hillcrest Manor staff is above and beyond what anyone could ever expect. This is highlighted by such genuine care everyone gave to my father on his passing, and they all continue to do so for my mother, who is still a resident at Hillcrest Manor. I cannot emphasize enough how helpful this has been at such a difficult time for my family.
Very good standard of care, all members of staff are friendly and supportive. Plenty of entertainment and activities for the residents to join in with. Food is excellent. From the management team to the nursing and care staff I would highly recommend this nursing home.
