View Full Details of Orchard Manor Care HomeOur daughter died at Orchard Manor in February this year after 21 months of continuous care. She was high dependency and met with excellent care, kindness and consideration consistently over her time there. She had been given a a prognosis from the hospital of 3 to 4 months but began to improve steadily because of the attention she received. Every member of staff plays a part in looking after residents, smiles are freely given, attention is prompt, cleanliness guaranteed, laundry is turned around at speed, food is varied and generous but above all care needs are met with kindness and understanding and nursing is attentive and assiduous. Until her illness began to overcome her my daughter was contented, if she could not be in her own home she could be at home in Orchard Manor. The home is managed efficiently but not officiously, staff have regular input and requests from residents and visitors are usually accommodated. We never regretted choosing Orchard Manor from the start. ,
The Orchard Manor Care Home gave 'end of life' care to my husband who had spent 5/6 weeks in the local hospital. Whilst he was only at Orchard Manor a short time, nothing was too much trouble for the Home to make him as comfortable as possible. I'm unable to judge the 'Activities' + 'Value for Money' section due to the short time he spent there.
My Mother, and now my brother were and are very lucky to have been residents. A kind and always welcoming care home. Really feel part of a family.
My sister has been a resident for over a year. Although younger than majority of other residents and cared for in bed, the staff recognise her limitations and whilst walking past always acknowledge her, say hello and when appropriate have a conversation. Staff are welcoming to her visitors, are professional and caring towards my sister. They understand how to meet her needs and show kindness to her. Little things such as a manicure improve her wellbeing tremendously. Well done to the staff at Orchard Manor Care Home.
Orchard Manor will forever hold a place in my heart. I was devastated to have to put my dear mum in a nursing home - but her needs were so great it became impossible to continue at home. Right from the start my mum was treated with utmost care and respect. I don't know how Orchard hired their staff but even their agency staff were always so caring and respectful. Mum's needs were extensive but were always met with a cheerful face. In the inevitable last few weeks a member of staff would sit with my mum when I went home and would phone me immediately if she deteriorated. I thank Orchard Manor with all my heart as I don't know what I would've done without you all.
Dad lived at Orchard Manor for the last 3 months of his life having been discharged from the hospital into their care. We do not live in the area and have not had the opportunity to visit any care homes but had to make a choice quickly. Thankfully we decided on Orchard Manor, it turned out to be the best choice. Right from day one we were regularly updated with Dad's progress. The staff were wonderful, the nursing care was excellent and Dad was extremely well cared for in his final months. We visited every weekend and were welcomed at each visit, the staff always made time to listen. The nursing staff on the top floor of Maple building felt like part of the family and we knew that when we left Dad each week he would be in safe hands and well cared for. Sadly Dad's illness progressed and he died within 3 months of arriving. We will be forever grateful for the loving, compassionate care given to both Dad and our family by the wonderful staff at Orchard Manor. Thank you from us all.
Where do I even start to say thank you to Orchard Manor Care Home. They looked after our Dad until his sadly recent passing, the love, care and attention shown to Dad throughout his stay here but also in his final days and to us as a family was unbelievable, we would not have got through the last days without all of your support, all the staff were incredible and from the bottom of our hearts, we will always be grateful to each and everyone for everything you did for Dad. I hope whenever you hear Neil Diamond it will always make you all smile Thank you all again.
Always happy with the service and care of my mother-in-law. Keep me updated on all events and requirements for her. Nice to see the activities and time spent with residents. Kind and happy staff. Can recommend.
As a family, we are thrilled with the care my mother is receiving from Orchard Manor. The staff and everyone involved with her care are caring and we are kept in touch at all times. Cannot thank them enough for the love and utmost professionalism, highly recommend this care home enough..
I cannot fault anything at Orchard Manor. The staff are very friendly and so caring towards all residents. It's such a lovely place. A big thank you to all the staff there for looking after me as well as my husband.
Although my mum wasn't in your care for very long, we are so glad she came to Orchard Manor Care Home. Every member of staff, from management to the floor staff are all nothing short of amazing. The way you treated us like we were family, being there to talk to, making us a brew, offering us food, you really are all on a different level and you all deserve every ounce of praise you receive. Thank you for everything you did for us, as a family, and thank you for the care you gave my mum in her last days, We will always be grateful that she got to spend her last few weeks with you.
I am satisfied with the way that my wife is being looked after because she is bedridden and cannot communicate properly. I know the staff have some difficulty but they do a very good job and they are so kind to her and also to me when I visit her. They always make me welcome when I visit.
My husband, a dementia resident, has lived at Orchard Manor Care Home for three months. He has settled. I find the staff are most caring and very supportive of me at this difficult time. I'm kept informed of my husband's care. Excellent doctor. Decor - I think the bedrooms could be made more comfortable and homely.
Generally good.
I had the pleasure of visiting Orchard Manor Care Home and was thoroughly impressed. The facilities are top-notch and well-maintained, providing a comfortable and modern environment for residents. The staff’s friendliness and attentiveness truly set this care home apart. Their dedication to making residents feel at home and cared for is remarkable, especially considering it’s a relatively new establishment. I highly recommend Orchard Manor for anyone seeking excellent care and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.
My dad was in Orchard Manor Care Home in Chester for three and a half years. The staff are all absolutely amazing, could not fault anything. He was truly loved and cared for could not have wished for a better care home for my wonderful dad. Nothing was too much trouble. My deepest thanks to all the friendly wonderful staff. I salute you all.
My mum was transferred to Orchard Manor Care Home from a hospital. She arrived in poor shape. Thanks to good nursing and kind care my mum made a miraculous recovery. I live three hours away so my visits were infrequent but each time I was welcomed regardless of day or time. The strength of this home lies in the quality of its staff from the senior nursing staff right through to the laundry persons. The staff work as a team. Despite the challenges of trying to meet the needs of a range of residents, the staff do so with kindness, respect and humour. Certain staff members stand out as going the extra mile in helping to make residents comfortable and this makes such a difference. I have just transferred Mum to a home near me. If I hadn't felt this to be necessary I would not have moved my mum away from Orchard Manor as I felt she was in safe hands there.
I find it hard to put into words how amazing the team at Orchard Manor Care Home are. My dad was only there a short time but he was shown so much love and kindness as were our family. The staff will forever remain close to my heart. They are earth angels. Thank you.
My father was a resident at Orchard Manor from 9th March 2020 through to 23rd July 2023. He was always treated well and with the utmost respect and dignity. While there the huge problem of Covid-19 was ever present with numerous lockdowns being imposed to comply with government and NHS restrictions. The care home always made sure my father was kept safe and 'pod' visits were arranged and coordinated. Once restrictions were lifted, normal free access was resumed. I would have no problem in recommending Orchard Manor to any relatives and/or friends.
Mum has been at Orchard Manor for almost 5 years and we were made to feel very welcome from the beginning. She has had many ups and downs and at times is not easy to look after because of her condition - she receives great care from everyone and the wonderful staff on Willow 1st know just what to do. Mum can't really join in with activities but they do their best to find something she can enjoy. All of the staff I have met over the years, no matter which role they do are friendly and helpful, not just to my mum, but they take great care of me as well. Their work can be very challenging and tiring but it's always done with care and humour. A recent request if a facility could be improved was listened to by the home management and I have been very impressed by the way they have kept me informed of progress on a regular basis without asking.
