View Full Details of Saxlingham Hall Nursing HomeMy mother has settled in well and is very happy with her room as it overlooks the garden. The staff have been amazing and nothing is too much trouble. She enjoys the activities especially the mini bus outing to an animal sanctuary and the visiting owls. She finds the food average and would like more variety in fresh vegetables and fruit.
The care of my 100-year-old father is wonderful. The home has catered for a medal presentation and a 100th birthday party. The thought that went into decorating the dining room was excellent. Wonderful cakes, nibbles, wines and beverages provided for over 30 guests we invited, a day of priceless memories made for us all. The daily menu is varied and the food is excellent. The staff have my highest gratitude, all are caring and attend to their patients with great respect and for us, they now feel like wonderful friends. I now leave for Australia but know my father will be well looked after by our extended family, thank you so much.
A warm and caring atmosphere provided for our mum in her final days.
My grandmother is happy at the nursing home. The staff are all very pleasant when I visit and my grandmother gets on well with the staff. My grandmother has no complaints. However, I feel that there could be some improvements. I feel there needs to be more staff and more focus on the wellbeing of the residents, especially getting them involved in activities so they are not so isolated. Sometimes I feel residents are got up too late also. I also dislike the curtains on the bathroom doors and would like to see these replaced.
My wife has had two fortnight periods in Saxlingham Hall and received excellent care and treatment while there. Accommodation standards are high, food is very good and the atmosphere in the home is of a very caring nature.
My father was very happy at Saxlingham where he felt so at home. The staff go above and beyond to create a happy caring environment and nothing was too much trouble. Their ethos of valuing relatives the same as residents was a wonderful refreshing approach and contributed immensely to the exceptional compassionate atmosphere within the home. Everyone, kitchen staff, housekeeping, nursing, carers and management were tremendous, nothing was too much trouble and I cannot thank them enough for taking the best of care of my father who, I know appreciated you all.
When Mum left the hospital after a stroke and needed residential care, Saxlingham Hall was recommended. From our first contact by telephone, we were impressed by the service we received, so arranged a viewing. On arrival, everyone was helpful and welcoming. The manager took us round the hall's facilities and showed us the rooms available. The standard of hygiene was very high, and there seemed a calming atmosphere which we liked. This was the place for Mum. When Mum arrived after 14 weeks in the hospital, she was very low in mood and had lost her appetite and much weight. The kind and caring staff have managed to reverse this. She’s much brighter in mood, eats better, and her teeth are lovely and clean again. Mum barely spoke when she arrived. Now she is quite chatty and loves to be involved with the activities provided. All staff are kind, friendly and extremely helpful. We are very grateful for the care provided to Mum and for the help/guidance given to us by everyone there.
My mother spent two weeks at Saxlingham Hall earlier this year. At 95, it was her first experience of respite care in a residential home. Thrilled with everything, she is looking forward to a return visit in July. The house and gardens are beautiful. The facilities are clean and second to none, and the staff were professional, kind and keen to do all they could to ensure that the varying needs of every resident were met. I cannot recommend Saxlingham Hall highly enough.
Just a note to thank you for your kindness given to my mother in her short end-of-life palliative care; thank you so much. The staff were very kind and professional and treated us with so much respect. Kind regards.
My mother has been in Saxlingham for a considerable time. All the staff both nursing and otherwise are fabulous. I am unable to see Mum regularly, so I am totally reliant on the care that they give. They are always very helpful if I have a concern and the kindness that they show my mum is second to none. The proof of the pudding, as they say, is that Mum is very happy and content at Saxlingham.
Mum moved to Saxlingham in January 2023. It was a difficult choice to put her into residential care, but choosing Saxlingham was the right one. I cannot praise every member of the staff enough; they dealt with us all with complete care and compassion through a very difficult time. Without a doubt, I would recommend the Hall.
My wife was discharged from the hospital to palliative care just before Christmas 2022. Regrettably, the palliative care system over a Christmas period was unobtainable over such a public holiday period, and it was down to myself to care for my wife. After this public holiday, it was clearly obvious that I required professional help, and Saxlingham Hall was approached, and my wife was admitted. She settled in very quickly with the help of the lovely staff and management. The management gave me information as to the correct financial procedures, which needed to be put in place, and their guidance was invaluable. My wife remained at Saxlingham until she passed away having been treated with the utmost care and consideration. On our regular visits to see her, we were received with friendliness, and nothing appeared to be too much trouble. There is an employee of the month scheme in place, which I felt was applicable to all the staff I had the pleasure of meeting who were very kind to me and my wife.
We have very happy that our father was able to stay for two weeks respite following a serious illness. The staff were friendly, kind and caring. The only negative was the lack of in-house physiotherapy and similar available for the cost of life minimal two-week stay. Lovely location and a calm environment. Thank you.
I found the staff very good and friendly and looked after my mum in her final days with the utmost respect. Even offering myself a hug if needed at such an upsetting time. Thank you and all the staff who work there.
From the moment I rang to make an enquiry the staff could not have been more welcoming, kind and compassionate. The care my mother received from all staff (cleaner/kitchen and nursing) was 1st class. As a family, we were made very welcome and made part of the Saxlingham Hall family. I can not thank all the staff enough for the care they gave my mother and how much they supported my father.
My dad moved to Saxlingham in August 2022, underweight and in poor condition after being in a previous care home. Dad has complex medical needs and is not the easiest person to look after when he has anxious, confused periods, which can last for several days and nights; the staff have always dealt with these in a professional and very caring way. I believe that Saxlingham has done everything it could possibly do to keep Dad safe and comfortable, which has not been easy. Dad, his clothes, his room and the Hall, in general, are always very clean. The staff consulted the family and kept them informed at every stage of Dad's care. I would highly recommend Saxlingham Hall.
My mother has been a resident of Saxlingham Hall for over 12 months. I have been most impressed with the care and kindness of all the staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Saxlingham Hall to anyone needing nursing care.
We are delighted with our mother's care at Saxlingham Hall. The staff are very professional, kind and caring, and Mum is happy, which is so important. She enjoys the food and the countryside views from her rooms, which remind her of home.
My mum moved into Saxlingham at the end of October. She was underweight, and following several falls, my sister and I decided that living independently was no longer an option. I visited many care/nursing homes; however, the moment I stepped inside Saxlingham and was shown around, I knew I had found the one. The swift response from the nursing home meant Mum was in within a matter of days. It took a while for her to settle, but the wonderful staff made her feel at home. Moving forward a few months, Mum has put on weight and is very settled. I cannot thank the staff enough for their care, attention and dedication. I have to travel a distance to see my mum, there were more local options, but in my mind, there was no option. Saxlingham is perfect. Thank you.
My mother moved to Saxlingham Hall after a period in the hospital and another care home following a fall. She had become very frail, and the experience had affected her spirit and well-being - she was also recovering from delirium brought on by her pneumonia and possibly the drugs necessary to treat it. At first, she was reluctant to feel that she could not go back home, but the care and support she received from all the staff at the Hall really revived her spirits, and she came to love her room with the view of the garden and the activities that she could participate in. Within a few days, you could see the return of her interest and engagement in life, her sense of humour and fun, her appetite revived, and her mental health improved no-end. Sadly she was only a resident for six months before she died, but by now considered Saxlingham Hall to be her home. I have no hesitation in recommending to anyone the excellent care and support that everyone, whatever their role at the Hall, gave to my mother in her final months.
