View Full Details of North Ferriby Nursing HomeI cannot speak highly enough of the North Ferriby Nursing home the staff are welcoming to every one. Their dedication to the clients is wonderful to see. Our daughter has the best care and attention as do all the residents.
My mother sadly passed away at Ferriby House Care Home, and our experience was heartbreaking. She was transferred from Hospital without a care plan in place, which immediately raised concerns. During her stay, she suffered from neglect, particularly regarding her ability to feed and drink independently, which was completely disregarded. Her end-of-life care was deeply distressing, resembling a discredited Care Pathway, where pain relief was inadequate, and her comfort was not prioritized. I want to acknowledge that the staff did their best with their limited time, but simply weren't enough of them to provide the care residents deserve. The real issue lies with management and poor staffing levels. If you're considering this home for a loved one, ask difficult questions. No family should have to experience what I did.
I was looking for a facility to have two weeks of post-operative care following a hip replacement. I called in and was given a comprehensive tour of the home. The home has met my expectations and enabled me to recover from my operation. Staff were excellent, letting me have my own space and taking good care of me.
My Mother has been a resident for over 4 years and we've always felt that Mum received great care, however, the love and support shown to her by nursing staff since the loss of her husband and our Dad in August has been the biggest credit to North Ferriby Nursing Home.
My husband has been here since August for respite care. The staff are very good. The house is always clean and friendly. I am very pleased with my husband's care and progress.
Overall I'm very happy with the care my mum is receiving at North Ferriby Nursing Home. The staff are excellent and she gets on really well with them all. They listen to her needs and act on her requests.
My grandmother is well looked after in North Ferriby Nursing Home, after a turbulent time. The manager has reassured us and made our family feel so welcome, the staff at North Ferriby Nursing Home are caring, and compassionate, and will always make us feel welcomed. We are so glad we chose North Ferriby Nursing Home, as it's not just a 'Care Home' it has such a warm welcoming feeling, my grandmother has advanced dementia and is nonverbal, the home has got to know her and she feels safe and comfortable. If you are looking for a home that your loved one wants to be cared for in, do not hesitate to contact the manager and her team.
My relative entered the home feeling very unwell and her needs exceeded what relatives and neighbours could provide. We were greeted by very professional and caring staff who attended to my relative, settled her into a light, bright and airy room. My relative has been assessed by visiting GP, nursing staff within the home and a care plan produced. Staff have undertaken a thorough assessment throughout the past for weeks and they have always been available for discussion. My relative is very well cared for, comfortable in her own room with good facilities. I have no concerns for her welfare.
My father was admitted to North Ferriby Nursing Home after being in hospital. The care my father received was exceptional. All the staff cared for my father with dignity and respect. I cannot thank them enough.
I visit my aunt about once every six weeks. She is always well looked after. The room is clean and nicely furnished (the bedding and curtains are pretty). She always has plenty to drink and snacks and dinners are homecooked and look very tasty. She tells me she is very comfortable. The staff are always very kind and helpful. As a visitor, I feel welcomed and included and can drop in anytime. It seems to be very well run. Management always says hello and is keen to help. I cannot rate 'Value for Money' as I don't deal with the money.
Dad was initially admitted to North Ferriby Nursing Home as a fall risk. We were concerned he would not settle. This however was not the case. In extreme circumstances, whilst in the home, Mum (who was in NFNH too) passed away, and dad struggled without her by his side after 62 years of marriage. Dad had many moments of sadness and low mood. During these times. The staff were so patient with him. And very supportive to our family too offering words of wisdom. Visiting hours were great, we visited around our and Dad's needs. Whenever Dad was leaving the home he was always ready and prepared. The nurses were knowledgeable and fast to act in emergencies which happened with Mum and Dad both due to failing health. The service provided by the local GP to the home is fantastic. Dad was allowed to be as independent as he was able with his frame. Dad found the food usually good, loved the soups, and Friday Fish and Chips. A beautiful home with loads of character, it's currently undergoing room upgrades.
Cannot recommend highly enough for this home. My mother was admitted here for the last few weeks of her life and the care and respect the staff showed to her was exceptional. She was treated with dignity and her wishes for the end of her life were respected and adhered to. The information and advice we, as a family received was outstanding. Our thanks go to each and every one there for a job well done!
My father is very content and well cared for.
My husband was admitted to the nursing home. The staff are all lovely and so encouraging. He settled in very well and looks like a new man. We are extremely happy with the care and treatment received by my husband. We would be very happy to recommend the home to others.
My family have been very happy with the care and attention afforded to our mother over the last 5 years. They must have gone through the most difficult time possible with the COVID pandemic in recent years. The fear of the illness entering the home and the damage it would cause must have given all concerned sleepless nights. I am happy to recommend this home, its owners and staff have provided a caring home in the last difficult years of my mother's life.
My dad spent nearly three years at North Ferriby Nursing Home and I am very happy with the quality of the facilities and the standard of care he received. It's a very homely place and the staff are very friendly and helpful and Dad seemed happy throughout his stay there.
Absolutely fantastic nursing home. The staff were exceptionally loving and kind to my mum. Every single member of staff I spoke with were so helpful and always available. Mum and I were made to feel special and we felt like it was a second home. It felt like the staff were a team, a family, and most of them have been there 20-30 years. That says it all. Thank you!
My 80-year-old mother has been caring for my stepdad for the last 5 years until she could no longer lift and manage him in his own home and reluctantly placed him in care at Ferriby Hall. She booked in to make a visit and we rang the bell at the conservatory. The senior carer opened the door and abruptly told us that only my mother was booked in to see my stepdad. My mum has been so worried and concerned if he had settled and the fact that her partner has been so ill, we had travelled a fair distance to see him, we were not expecting such a horrible greeting. We were not made to feel welcome at all. We were not offered a drink or given any information on how he has been. We were told so abruptly to put hand gel on and to put a face mask on. Then left to wait at the door until the senior carer went to ask if it was ok if my husband and I could also see our loved one. After gaining consent we were led to a dark room where his water and pee bottle was out of reach. Not a nice place.
The overall impression was very good to excellent. The ones marked satisfactory I had no person contact with - ie activities.
My daughter was so well looked after she is very happy to come in for respite.
