View Full Details of Foresters LodgeMy wife did not want to end her life in a care home, but her health had deteriorated to such an extent that she needed full time nursing care, which was simply not possible at home. She was in the home for just over a month and she received, at all times, the best care possible. I told the staff that I would score them 11 out of 10 because they went far beyond the necessary. They showed her great care and love. She had become very frightened of being washed, or turned, but the care she received makes me weep even now. It was amazing and I am so grateful. I would still have liked her to die at home, but this was every bit as good, and nothing seemed to ever be too much. So I am really grateful and I am already recommending the home to others!
My mum was recently moved to Forresters after being evicted from another Bridlington care home, due to them not being able to look after her because she has late-stage dementia. We wish we'd put her in Forresters from the beginning of her residential care. Forresters are now giving her medication properly and the correct medication, which as now is the case we are seeing a great improvement in the way mum is. She seems a lot calmer and happier in our eyes. She is getting fed very well and is eating plates of food rather than small bowls in the previous home. The carers, nurses and cleaners are doing a great job. We know our mum won't get any better, but now know she is getting the correct care that she needs and deserves. As a family, we now don't feel stressed anymore and can relax knowing she is in safe hands. Thanks to everyone
Wonderful place staff are so very kind and hard-working people. My mum is safe at the Lodge. Meals are good.
My sister is very happy at Foresters Lodge. She was living on her own for many years after her husband and son passed away. She looks very well and is eating much better and has put on a little weight as she had stopped eating at home. The staff are very friendly and she likes to chat to everyone. They are always pleasant when I go and are very helpful.
We do not pay full price as the local authority pays towards it as Mum is on end of life. Her room is very shabby and has not been touched for 5 years. A new door was installed but the frame has not been painted. The carers are excellent and we are satisfied with all they do for her. The activities lady does a great job.
My experience up to now is good and my husband is being looked after on the nursing side, keeping him clean and cared for. He is on a peg for food. His room is very nice and couldn't be better for him. Thank you. All in all very good, for the time my husband has been here.
The staff are all lovely my mother is well cared for. The premises feeling tired and my mother's room could benefit from a decoration. The door to her room has been replaced in 2023 and has still not been painted, remaining in a rough wood state. The furniture is looking tatty.
This house is clean and tidy at all times. All the staff are polite well spoken and very professional. As a visitor, I was treated most kindly and helped with any questions I had.
It's been a settling period for my mum very understanding with all of us. We have good days and bad ones but most of all we understand it's not easy for Mum and the staff understand that and are all very caring with her. What I have experienced is understanding caring staff with great activities to keep them busy.
The room has deteriorated during the last 5 years (mum's stay). Furnishings very old fashioned decor needs freshening up. I am satisfied with the care given to mum by the carers.
Overall excellent care and environment. Staff are kind and friendly in fact it's a grand experience.
Although no one wants a parent to go in for full-time care we have been as a family, very satisfied with the care our mother has received at the home. The ambience in the home is always very positive and the staff respectful to their clients. The food always looks fresh and nutritious for the residents.
My experience here has been totally positive. The care my mum received especially recently through her decline in health has been amazing. The time, effort and commitment from staff has been exemplary, including immediate action for her health and safety and providing interaction and physical aid where necessary. Communication has also been excellent for keeping family informed. Such efforts can only be highly commended.
My relative unfortunately fell really poorly just recently. All the staff cared for her most outstandingly. From the team leader, seniors, carers and activities coordinator, what a brilliant team! Thankfully my relative is improving and that's all down to you guys, thank you. Also, the domestic and cleaning staff go above and beyond. I'm glad we chose Foresters Lodge.
Excellent staff. Clean throughout. Tasty food.
Fantastic staff. Glad to see more activities being done and an outside area with shade for residents. Air conditioning would be great, for both staff and residents during hot summers. Staff and management go above and beyond.
Should be some way for residents' relatives allowed access without ringing the bell.
Most of the month has been spent in lockdown. As always, lack of communication is not good. Emails are sent out a few days after staff already knows the latest opening date. It would be an idea to sent out a weekly update regardless.
I'm happy here. The staff are great.
Since I have been here for care, the staff could not be more helpful. The girls are enthusiastic, I love them all.
