View Full Details of Barnes Court Care CentreBasic care is ok, it's the small things that get missed, i.e. false teeth not in, no glasses on, hair brushed, teeth not cleaned. Often short-staffed, so care is unable to be given to the standard the staff want to.
The manager has been helpful and tries her best to have time to talk if we have any questions relating to my aunty. Always someone around if there are any questions. My aunty is there on a temporary basis until decisions are made but currently, she is quite happy there.
My sister was admitted to Barnes Court Care Centre following a spell in hospital. It was the first time she had stayed away from the family home alone. Due to her mental and physical disabilities, it was very difficult to start trusting others to understand her very special needs. Over a year down the line, my sister is thriving at Barnes Court. She interacts with all the staff and other residents and seems to enjoy her days there. The staff are very caring and attentive and it's a comfort to know nursing staff are at hand 24 hours. Knowing that my sister is settled and happy and in good care is a huge relief.
Since moving into Barnes Court Care Centre, my daughter has settled into her new environment with ease with the brilliant support from the staff and carers. She now has a structured bedtime, now sits at a dining table for meals, has company throughout the day, both with carers and other residents, activities, making cakes and weather permitting, goes out with other residents to the park or coffee shop. She always looks clean and tidy which I found difficult to do. Her communication with others has also improved as she had very little stimulation on a day-to-day basis. I would recommend Barnes Court 100%.
After visiting my husband every other day since he settled in at Barnes Court Care Centre on 27th February 2024, I feel confident enough to give my opinion of the care system to residents at Barnes Court. I am pleased at the way my husband has settled here and am happy at the way food and activities are handled. The staff are all very respectful and warm-hearted to the residents. I would certainly recommend this care home to anyone needing the support they can give.
It was a very difficult and stressful time when my mam, who has dementia, went into Barnes Court as it was in the middle of the pandemic. We were on lockdown, so I was unable to settle her in, and then later only able to see her under very strict visiting restrictions. From the first moment, the staff were lovely and helpful, under very difficult circumstances. Telephoning me to introduce themselves and reassuring me that my mam was settling in and being well looked after after I got upset because we couldn't see each other. Nearly 4 years later, the staff are still great. They are warm, friendly and nothing is too much trouble. From the domestics, admin, nurses and manager, they are all approachable. The nurses have consoled me a few times, when I have been upset after some difficult visits with my mam, which I appreciated. My mam is always clean and presentable and it puts her family's minds at rest knowing she is safe, well and secure. I know I will be contacted if she is poorly etc., and will be kept informed of her progress if I am asked not to visit for a few days.
I have had nothing but help and care since I have lived at Barnes Court Care Centre. If I haven't been happy with something it is quickly resolved with new management.
My friend has settled in since early February 2024. Good positive atmosphere from the word go. All staff are helpful and I find them friendly and professional. My friend is adjusting to his situation in a fairly positive manner which is helped by all the staff he comes into contact with. Barnes Court has a welcoming atmosphere with good security and positive communication both face-to-face and over the telephone.
I'm not one who normally posts reviews, however, I feel I need to on this occasion. My father has complex needs and I was very worried about his needs being met and being treated with respect and dignity. I have to praise every single member of staff from the manager, nursing staff, caregivers, kitchen and laundry staff and last but not least, the cleaning staff. I find every single one friendly, open and honest, open to listening to any concerns. There's nothing too small that is not taken seriously and addressed. They show genuine empathy and make the home feel like a home for the residents and the families of the residents when visiting. I would highly recommend Barnes Court.
Since a new management team have taken over, the home has improved a great deal in a short space of time. Things seem to be getting done. Management are a lot more approachable now and involved more with the residents and their families/friends. I personally feel that the resident's rooms and the communal areas are in dire need of redecorating and modernising.
After two falls and a six-week stay in hospital, my 90-year-old mother was at the lowest she's ever been. She was stressed, suffering from 'sundowners' and unable to return to her own home. She has been in Barnes Court Care Centre since coming out of hospital and the change in her is dramatic, she is calmer, happy and comfortable. She has friends to talk to and is receiving exceptional care. The staff at Barnes are caring attentive and loving. I've quietly watched over the weeks she's been in there and couldn't be happier with the attention and care she's had. Both management and staff are extremely approachable and more than happy to help in any way they can. I would definitely recommend this friendly, family-like care home to anyone.
The staff are excellent. Mother is well cared for, and we have no concerns about her care, safety and well-being. The overall decor in the home could do with some updating, but this is not a priority for us, the level of care is, and that is excellent.
The manager and staff are excellent and thoughtful, always willing to help. Very happy with the level of care given to my mam and other residents.
I cannot speak too highly of Barnes Court Care Centre. The building itself is unremarkable and the rooms could perhaps do with an update but there, the negatives end. The staff are what makes the place tick and they are remarkable. Nothing is too much trouble for them from the cleaning staff right through to the floor managers. I have invariably found them pleasant and professional. They have worked hard to make the resident as comfortable as possible and the food is excellent too.
Friendly staff, feel safe and well cared for. I have everything I need. The staff are happy to do anything for me and they are always popping in to see me and check on me.
My father's condition came as a huge shock to the family but finding him a place at Barnes was an immense relief and comfort. The staff are amazing, they care for him as if he was their own family. Nothing is too much trouble and they are friendly, caring and supportive, not just to him but to his family. I always feel safe knowing they are caring for him. I have to say thank you, I could not wish for better care. he is always clean, smart and happy when I visit, he is a proud smart man. they treat him with dignity and love. I can't thank them enough.
The staff are attentive, personal and caring. Warm reception and patient update on arrival. Access to the garden area in the summer for visitors. Would be a nice place to sit and relax outside with patient during visits. Wifi signal is weak and sometimes prohibits usage could have limited contact further during lockdown. Always clean and tidy, friendly staff and resident is happy and all needs catered for. Thank you.
My son is liked very much and the staff are very good with him. My concern is he does not get out much and I think they could be taken out more.
My daughter was in Barnes Court for over 2 years from January 200 19 until July 2021 and was well looked after. She recently returned to Barnes Court after says in hospital. We found she was well looked after and treated with respect by both management and staff and we are glad to see her settled back in.
Although only able to visit once per week for 30 minutes I find the home clean, tidy, the staff are friendly and the management approachable. I'm not there for meals so I can't comment on these. The rooms are basic. At the moment the home does not have anyone full-time for activities and this is a big miss.
