View Full Details of Pembroke LodgeThe staff at Pembroke Lodge are awesome and so caring. My mum has been bed-bound since she arrived almost a whole year ago, often a carer or nurse will pop into her room to keep her company for a spell in between tending to their other duties, for which I will always be grateful. When I've had a particularly bad visit with my mum, you lovely carers and nurse (this is usually the night-shift teams by I've come out of mum's room) will help me to calm myself before I drive an hour back home, just to make sure I am safe to drive! Every single member of the day-shift teams and night-shift teams is compassionate and goes above and beyond so often. Working carefully to ensure all those under their care are safe, without encroaching upon the individual's independence (as much as that person's mental capacity can allow). I have seen how your staff treat each and every resident here with dignity and as individuals requiring their own different levels of care.
The care and attention given to our father was excellent. The way he responded to the care staff with a twinkle in his eye and a ready smile demonstrated that he was very relaxed and comfortable (unless he was unwell of course!) We were especially heartened to know that he was in very good hands during the restrictions of 2020 and 2021 when we couldn't visit. The carers were very much his family and looked after him wonderfully until his death. The fact that more than half the staff we met when Dad arrived in 2016 are still working there in 2022 says much about the organisation of the home and the friendly atmosphere.
Managing Director has been dedicated to the care of Dementia sufferers for over 30 years. He is an award winning expert in Dementia care. He is modest, extremely professional and treats both families and residents with consideration, patience and empathy. Many thanks to staff at Pembroke Lodge for your support at a difficult time of life for us all.
The staff have a good understanding of dementia and the needs of the residents. The residents are treated with dignity, patience and kindness. Relations and visitors are made welcome and the staff are always friendly and helpful.
Lovely family atmosphere. Dedicated staff. Good food. Dad always looks clean and tidy.
Very caring and staff are excellent to all the residents. Food is very good.
My husband has been a resident here since July 2013, until his death in August of this year. He has received excellent care throughout his progression with dementia. All the staff are caring and compassionate, dedicated people. My husband was always clean and as happy as such a condition would allow. When he died, I was given a cushion made from one of his cardigans - such a lovely caring gesture. My "safety blanket" during this difficult time. A friend remarked that such a gesture put the "care" into "care home".
Dad has been a resident of Pembroke Lodge for a few months now and I couldn't be happier with the care and attention he receives. The carers actively tried to find his likes and dislikes to make his stay more pleasant. Whenever we visit the staff are always welcoming and Dad always looks well groomed and happy. The home always smells fresh and clean and the food I have seen looks appetising and well prepared.
The care mum receives is second to none. The Lodge is well staffed which means residents receive prompt, courteous and frequent attention. Staff are kind and patient. Residents are kept clean, comfortable and their nourishment and hydration is well catered for. On a personal note, knowing mum is well cared for has meant I feel much less stress. Highly recommended.
Pembroke Lodge is a wonderful homely place. The management and staff are always helpful and knowledgeable. The staff are experienced in the care of dementia with most having level 3 and four staff doing level 5. The staff feel like my family.
