View Full Details of Seaway Nursing HomeWhen my husband moved into Seaway, the cook told me that all the staff were 'super lovely'. She was not exaggerating. The kindness and care both my husband and I received was, in my opinion, exceptional. Sadly my husband died after 6 short weeks, but in those weeks I grew to be very fond of these smiling, cheerful, kind and very hard-working people looking after my husband so well and hugging me when I visited. Seaway should be your first choice of a nursing home for anyone you love and want the best of care for. I shed tears when saying goodbye to these dear people.
Our lovely friend spent his last months at Seaway. It was the happiest months he had had in a long time. The staff treated him like family and took excellent care of him. His rights and choices were always honoured and respected. He was able to see his days out spending time in the lovely garden doing what he loved best without judgement. We were always welcomed as visitors no matter the time or the day. All the staff are kind and polite and he loved them all. Thank you for making his last months so happy.
My mother moved into Seaway Nursing May 2022. She sadly passed away on 2nd February 2024. The care she received was outstanding. She loved all the staff. As soon as I met the staff, I knew she was in good hands. Whatever she asked for, they provided. They kept me informed of any issues. I could call them at any time. All members of staff were important to her including the cleaner, handyman and all nursing and care staff. The care was exceptional.
Seaway Nursing Home is such a friendly, clean and welcoming environment, made so by its exceptional staff. The fed, nursed and cared for my dear mother in the last days of her life. She felt entirely at home, welcome and extremely well cared for.
Since moving in 18 months ago my Mother's health is better than anything pre-2020. The care and attention she has received from a wonderful group of staff has been exceptional. We have huge peace of mind knowing she is in a warm, clean and safe environment.
You can hear some horror stories when it comes to care homes. In my experience, I have found Seaway Nursing Home friendly, caring, kind and safe. Staff are approachable and professional, even when working under pressure. I am confident that my loved one receives the care she needs in a safe environment. You cannot put a price on peace of mind.
I was fortunate to be able to spend 2 weeks in Seaway recovering from major surgery. My partner had been admitted there in 2019 following a severe stroke, he was paralysed on his right side and had complex care needs. I was unable to continue visiting on a daily basis from home and so it was a great relief to be in Seaway and able to see him daily. The staff went out of their way to make my stay extremely comfortable and pleasant including decorating my room and arranging for my partner to participate in my 70th Birthday celebration which happened to coincide with my stay. My wound was checked and redressed skillfully and I was able to rest in a warm, friendly supportive environment which had a positive impact on my recuperation and overall recovery. It was a huge comfort to know my partner was in kind, knowledgable and safe hands and was treated with dignity and compassion. His end of life care was exceptional and as a result, he died peacefully. A great blessing.
My wife was a resident for 15-days before she died. The service we received, on the whole, was excellent from the start. The care she received from the nursing staff was excellent and person-centred. We both felt very cared for. On occasion, the home manager was inappropriate with her words and language, and being given this form as I was loading my dead wife's belongings into the car was insensitive and ruined a good experience.
So grateful to the wonderful, caring staff at Seaway. They all made sure my mum was cared for and loved.
Seaway Nursing Home was able to accept my mum at short notice after she was released by the hospital after a fall. She was no longer able to walk and felt confused due to her dementia. The staff did everything they could to make her feel welcome and talk to her. They kept us informed of any changes in her health and went above and beyond in her final days. We are grateful that our Mum was able to pass peacefully at Seaway...
Friendly, helpful and efficient. Qualified and caring nursing staff and carers. They looked after my mum beautifully for the last two weeks of her life. Access for visitors could be improved as there is no car parking outside - only residents parking permits required. It would be great if Seaway could obtain permits for visitors.
Seaway had a good atmosphere; its location on a residential street made it feel more homelike than other more institutional facilities. All the staff were friendly and caring and were always welcoming to my siblings and I when we visited our mother. Our mother had declined considerably by the time she was transferred to Seaway, and they catered to her increased needs admirably. After our mother passed, the staff were sympathetic and sensitive to our feelings, and we are very grateful that they packed away her belongings for us.
Seaways is a small and very friendly, warm home. My mum was very well looked after. She was always clean, neat and helped to join in the activities, which she really enjoyed, as she was a sociable person. The staff are very caring and friendly and kept us informed of changes. The food looked delicious, and refreshments were always provided when requested. This was very much a home from home with amazing care and support.
My sister was as happy as possible, considering her circumstances. The staff related to her personality in an excellent way and went out of their way to help. In the difficult time of Covid lockdown, they facilitated FaceTime sessions with our family and from time to time, they would cook a special meal - something most welcome to my sister.
My mother came to the home from hospital for palliative care in July. She recovered quite a bit and had a very happy summer with you. As we all thought she only had a short time, the family and friends visited quite regularly. We were all treated well and enjoyed the activities and interaction with staff. Thanks to all the staff.
Management is very good, providing the best to the residents. Staff: nurses, carers, cleaners and cook are polite, give support and are helpful.
Seaway Nursing Home looks after my sister's needs well at her age. All staff try their best to make her comfortable and happy. Her rooms are usually clean and her bedding also. If she needs assistance, she usually gets it. As a regular visitor to the home, I feel welcomed at all times.

My late husband was a very happy and well cared for resident of Seaway Nursing Home for 5 years and 6 months. Even though he was seriously ill he was never miserable living there, he loved his room and the staff were like family to him too. I was always kept informed of any changes to his health and called on the phone whenever there was any medical emergency. I would have liked his final hours of life to be in his own room and bed but sadly that wasn't to be and he died in August 2018 in the hospital after battling a long illness very bravely.
