View Full Details of Vyrnwy Nursing HomeMy nan come to Vyrnwy November 2023 after poor health led to myself and my mum not being able to provide her with the care she needed. It was a hard decision but the best for Nan, she has had the best care we could of possibly hoped for, she left on April 6th to be with the Angels and she was peaceful and all our wishes for her dignity was respected. She had the best nurses and carers you could ever need, personal care was excellent and always clean, tidy and dietary needs met. I am thankful to all that cared all the staff felt like family and the hugs she had when we couldn't be there helped us knowing she was in a good place with excellent people round her. Thank you so much for everything, ( I've joked to my parents they need a double room when it's time !!l) Recommend this home 100% to anybody looking for a nursing home.
I have always found staff and carers very friendly and my husband well cared for. He passed away in March, when I called to collect his possessions I could not have asked for more kindness and compassion, along with shared memories of my husband and his personality. Thank you to everyone.
We were very reluctant to take this step in our mothers c are, but it proved to be the best opportunity for her. She received loving and considerate care from the staff during her 3 month stay with them. Her dignity and respect were paramount to the staff who kept us fully informed to the end. The distance we had to travel to visit was not a deterrent for the quality of care mum received.
My uncle came into the care of Vyrnwy Nursing Home Feb 24. He was there until he passed away sadly in Jan 25. I visited him on numerous occasions and without exception the care, attention to detail was exemplary. He was popular with the staff even though he was in essence bed ridden. A great team who always helped him 100%.
Kind staff. Very good activity coordinator. Open door policy for communication food excellent.
Very good care from the staff. It is a very sociable home with many activities for the residents. The maintenance of the rooms is very good, perhaps the refurbishments could be more frequent. Overall it is a very good care home.
From the minute my Uncle entered Vyrnwy Nursing Home he was genuinely cared for! Everyone is so friendly, kind and thoughtful. It's so hard when your family lives all over the world - you just hope your loved one gets treated with kindness and dignity they deserve and Vrynwy has delivered exactly that. Every time I called it was no trouble for them to get my Uncle and they said often how much my Uncle enjoyed our chats. When I emailed photos they would print them to give to him straight away. He spoke happily about the lovely location of the Home, all the activities, outings and the garden which he had a great time tending! When he passed recently, I felt a particular staff member and all the team were genuinely saddened with the loss of him at the home - it's shows a great deal about the quality of the people employed throughout the home. As a family member I cannot not recommend Vyrnwy Nusing Home highly enough for the true care that you want for the people you love the most! Thank you all so much!
My sister spent 10 months in Vyrnwy Nursing Home. She was totally disabled and bed-bound. I found Vyrnwy very good with their care and the manger cared about the residents and is always accessible if you need her. The nursing care was very good and the staff looked after my sister until she died.
Very happy with the care you gave my husband. His room was very nice and kept very clean. The staff were very kind and friendly and very pleasant. He said the food was very nice. He came here looking very happy and contented. It was very noticeable he had been very well cared for. Thank you all so much for taking good care of him.
Thank you to all the staff at Vyrnwy Nursing Home. My mum spent the last few months of her life living at Vyrnwy. She was frail and needed constant care. I know I chose the right place for her, and feel comforted that she was looked after by such a warm caring community of people, whose professionalism met the highest standards. Thank you to everyone.
Wonderful care. My Uncle came to Vyrnwy in a very poor state of health. Since his arrival his mental state has improved, he is well-presented and is looked after wonderfully. He is happy, comfortable, talkative, mentally stimulated, and has put on weight. The staff recognise when he needs reassurance and this is always provided straight away. He is treated as an individual with dignity and respect. Communication between the staff and myself is excellent and I am kept updated. I am so relieved and happy that he is in such a lovely place. Thank you to all the Vyrnwy staff.
I am very pleased with the care my mother has received and is still ongoing. She is being looked after very well and all staff are friendly and chatty and always ready to help. Nothing is too much trouble for them and she always looks clean and comfortable. I'm so pleased she is staying at the Vyrnwy Nursing Home.
My mum was a resident for 18 months and very frail. Throughout her stay, the care was of the very highest standard, and I cannot speak too highly of all of the staff and thank them for their professionalism and attention at all times. Mum was always happy, and it was a pleasure to visit - thank you all!
I cannot recommend this home enough, after trying my dad in a few homes this was the one he settled into. The staff are very welcoming, they have a variety of activities throughout the week to keep the residents occupied should they wish to join in and several trips out during the year ranging from meals out to trips to surrounding areas i.e barge trips to a day at the beach. It's in a lovely location with a river view and garden for everyone to enjoy all year round.
My mum is a resident here since over three months following a tough month in hospital. She is in her late nineties and needed round the clock care when she first arrived with the intention of returning home to live alone, but with a 'package of care' arranged by social services. However, as the weeks have flown by, Mum has changed her mind, deciding to stay indefinitely because of the overwhelming love, care and attention she receives daily from the most fantastic, dedicated team of happy, jolly, extremely professional and genuinely caring professionals. Visiting hours are long and generous. Activities are plentiful and good fun, including bowls, dominoes, bingo, cards and cookery, to mention but a few. Enjoyable visits and days-out are so cleverly organised and supervised and I truly can't speak highly enough of this wonderful, amazing nursing home oozing warmth, love and friendliness. Mum is so very happy here and I feel so lucky and privileged that she is here.
Thank you to all the Staff looking after my dad. The staff are very supportive and looked after my dad so well. It was nice to see my dad joining in with some activity and how they brought the activity to his bedroom when he didn't feel well enough to join the others downstairs.
The home have been great with Nan. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are amazing, professional, friendly and warm. My nan had always been anxious of going into a care home. She’s enjoyed the Vyrnwy Nursing Home so much that she’s decided to stay (rather than try to continue to live independently with carers coming into her home). This says it all about the quality of care.
My Mum is at Vyrnwy Nursing Home and it's a straightforward easy review - 'we couldn't have got any better'. Not only the excellent professional care from all the staff (thank you) but it's the small things that Vyrnwy will do that add up even more; charging her phone, making sure she's ready for a family day out, going over to the shop for a few things for her, and just the good day to day chat.
In the short time my dad has been at the home, he is beginning to settle down. Everything appears fine.
Following a serious stroke and four months of hospitalisation Dad was confused, disorientated and unhappy with his loss of mobility. Dad has already had a stay in a care home but with the stroke, he was unable to go back. We therefore have a benchmark to rate Vyrnwy against and find them equally caring to dad and the family. Dad's condition has resulted in him being challenging and the staff have dealt with him with respect and care. His room is excellent, ensuite facilities requires cosmetic fix, hence the rating.
