View Full Details of Sharston HouseMy husband was admitted to Sharston House in January 2025 having spent most of December in hospital. We abandoned our wish to take care of him at home, sadly and reluctantly after his diagnosis indicated that he required professional nursing care. Sharston House has more than answered the needs of my husband and ourselves, his family. Professional standard nursing, an attractive bed sitting room and most importantly, kind, empathic and tireless care has offered us as a family, a welcome reassurance. Thank you, Sharston House!
I have come to Sharston House for post operative care. I am pleased to be in a safe, caring environment, where I can rely on staff to help with my personal needs. The staff carry out their duties in a professional way and are always very obliging.
The care my nanna receives here is first class. Everyone cares so much for her and the environment is really loving and respectful. All my nan ever says is 'they're good to me here'. What more could you ever ask for.
My mum, family and friends enjoyed a delightful afternoon celebrating her 100th Birthday in the lovely cafe on the upper floor. We can't praise the staff enough for ensuring it was a day to remember. The chef and kitchen staff produced a wonderful array of tasty delights plus a beautiful birthday cake. The staff are always caring, kind and respectful to my mum and visitors are really welcomed. To us, the staff feel like our extended family.
Sharston House was a godsend for us finding a care home for my mum. I knew on first meeting the lovely staff and looking round that it would be perfect and I was right. The nurses and all the staff in the kitchen and laundry are so wonderful. Special mention must be given to 5 members of staff in particular for their beautiful, caring, detailed attentions and nursing expertise. When I heard Mum say 'I'm so lucky to be here', I was very glad. The atmosphere and the room are very nice and I can recommend the home fully.
My mum has been a resident of Sharston House since July 2024. She has significant nursing needs and it took time to find her a nursing home which could care for her effectively. It gives much comfort to know she is now receiving the care she needs in a place she now feels at home. The management and staff are extremely professional, caring, attentive and helpful, both inhouse and facilitating with hospital appointments. Communication is regular and timely. They go above and beyond.
An excellent nursing home with amazing, caring staff and management.
Friendly welcome when you enter Sharston House, no sooner have you sat down with your relative you are offered a drink. The building albeit quite an old house has been adapted very well to suit the needs of the residents. There is a pleasant aroma around the nursing home quite different from the majority. Food is excellent with a choice for the residents at most meal times. The bedrooms are bright and well equipped, residents are encouraged to bring in their own pictures, ornament etc. A wide variety of entertainment, particularity these past two week celebrating Christmas. All in all a pleasant environment to have a relative/friend living here. Would highly recommend Sharston House
Excellent care and professionalism from all staff. All are polite, friendly, and accommodating. Clean and well-maintained rooms, varied activities with a high standard of entertainment. Good food and drink. Would highly recommend it.
My Mother has been a resident of Sharston House in Knutsford, Cheshire for 4 months. This is the 4th Nursing Home she has been in and I visited 26 different ones this time, as I was determined that she would have somewhere that was right for her complex needs. She is perfectly sound of mind but has Parkinson's Disease which requires a complex medication regimen and attentive Caregivers who notice when she needs a top-up of her meds. I am so delighted with Sharston House. The manager and her team are nothing short of outstanding. They are managing her needs and are always willing to adapt to the changes the Consultant makes. She is checked on regularly throughout the day and night time too. She has her hair done weekly, assisted showers, and is joining in with the activities which she didn't have the confidence to do in her previous homes. She has been accompanied to the dentist and her medical appointments which I can no longer manage to do. And the food is really superb!
The management at Sharston House were very helpful and efficient. My mother lacked confidence and the pre assessment was very helpful to her and the family in coming to the decision to enter the home. All the staff we have met have been very obliging and cheerful.
The care staff at Sharston House are excellent. They greet visitors by name and are so welcoming. They are very patient when dealing with residents and take time to ensure their needs are looked after. They seem to work so well together as a team. Although the property is a Victorian house rather than a purpose-built building, I feel this makes it far more homely and has a better atmosphere than a modern building. This was a great help when settling in my mother-in-law when she first arrived and continues to be a benefit to this day.
My aunt has been in Sharston House since July and we only have praise for ger care and attention by the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and I know my aunt us very happy there and realised how well she is treated and looked after. Activities, my aunt doesn't participate but I know there is a varied programme enjoyed by the other residents.
My parents are both 98 years old, nearly 99 and have been married for 77 years. There was a period of difficulties for my parents settling into the new location. They live together in a large double bedroom, small lounge, and ensuite. My Father has an assisted bed and they both enjoy a bright, happy room with family pictures displayed on the walls. The care and support my parents receive is of the highest standard. This results in my family and myself being relaxed and happy knowing my parents are receiving the best possible care and support.
My sister has resided at Sharston House since January 2024. The staff are very caring, and extremely hardworking, carers, nurses, management, cleaners, chefs and kitchen staff, I cannot fault their dedication. The nurses and management are very diligent and always keep you informed of any changes etc.
My parents began their stay in a pleasant double room complete with an ensuite. We did request additional grab rails for safety in the bathroom which were fitted. My Mother died 5 weeks after admittance. My Father remained in the double room but moved to a single room as it was too expensive to maintain. Took my Father a few weeks to settle. Some issues which we have mentioned e.g. H&S of bathroom. We have other concerns that we will bring up at the next residential meeting on 25/09/24.
I have found Sharston House to be very kind and have the resident's needs to be utmost, in mind. The residents take part in lots of activities that the home is sure the people will enjoy. The staff are friendly and the food is good. They have good medical staff and with a visiting doctor, they are always well cared for. Bright, cheerful, and positive.
Very welcoming, a home from home with good activities. Could benefit from more care staff at times.
I was told that following a knee operation because I lived alone I would not be able to go home so needed somewhere to stay for two weeks. I had been in Sharston House before I did not hesitate to phone the manager and ask if she could fit me in for two weeks. I very much enjoyed my time at Sharston House, the staff were wonderful, without exception.
Just back from a trip out to a national trust sight with my mum and residents from Sharston House. All in aid of breast cancer on a sponsored 5k walk/wheelchair event which was achieved with the support of the staff and some of the support workers who actually came to help in their day off, so a huge thank you to them. Lunch was a picnic at the cafe/information centre in the grounds of this national trust sight. A lovely day out enjoyed by family and residents.
