View Full Details of Glenfairn House Care HomeI have always found all members of staff to be friendly and helpful. Any requests are dealt with promptly and nothing ever seems too much trouble. Mum is happy in Glenfairn House and I am pleased to have secured a place there for her.
My experience is with my wife working in the care community and residential homes. Visiting on social events and seeing the different environments and interactions between staff and clients. It is with this in mind, the support and care of the residents in Glenfairn House that is very impressive.
Has good care and all the staff are great. Also, the room is great.
My mum has been in Glenfairn House for almost a year, she has settled brilliantly. The staff are all amazing and take excellent care of my mum. The home has been upgraded and had lots of amazing improvements. We as a family are delighted with every aspect of my mum's care.
In my experience, my mother has been looked after with love and kindness. She enjoys the activities, the company and the food. She is comfortable and relaxed and most importantly she is safe.
My mum has settled in well. The staff are all friendly and helpful. The activities team is first-class and Mum enjoys being part of the activities/days out. Management has done a great job with lots of improvements happening, going to be a lovely home. A nice and comfy room opens out to the garden. The home is always clean and the food looks lovely. Always kept informed of everything from Mum's care to what's going on. Feels like family.
All staff have been respectful, understanding and caring since my mum moved into Glenfairn nine months ago. There seems to be significant, positive changes being made that will definitely improve the quality of the care home. Recently, the communication and interaction with relatives/loved ones have increased which has been great.
My partner is now dressed and in a dayroom a lot more and there has been a big improvement with her. She is more alert and eating and drinking well. Very happy, hope this continues.
My mum was transferred from another care home to Glenfairn House Care Home for a few weeks due to work being carried out. On my first visit to Glenfairn House Care Home, I was welcomed by smiling carers in the nicest possible way. Mum's room on the first floor was clean, tidy and very spacious and comfortable. Everything about this wonderful care home was 10/10. For me and my family, top marks all-round to staff, managers, cleaners and chefs, I cannot fault this beautiful place and will be a bit sad when Mum returns to her care home.
I feel my mum receives good care from staff. She is treated with dignity and all staff make an effort to interact with us when we visit. She seems settled and readily smiles for some staff members. I am happy with the care my mum receives at Glenfairn.
My mum enjoys activity time and always looks forward to it. Her favorite is singing and reminiscing about the stars and her life. She enjoys going to get her hair and nails done in the salon and interacting with staff especially the activities team. Her eating has improved since being here, eating a wider variety of foods.
I feel my family member settled in well after me being uptight. The activities staff are amazing; they are so good with the residents and very organised. There are always activities going on. The bedroom is very cosy with a lovely door that opens onto a nice garden. The management seems really nice; we got a nice welcome phone call. The menus on the tables are great - lots of people see what they are having. The interior is good too.
Staffing levels are poor - need more than three nursing assistants on the floor. Existing staff are very good and committed but overworked given the level of assistance needed by many residents. Basic things like bathing and mouth care are not attended to as a result. Residents are left in bed due to staffing. Health care assistant care is very good but there needs to be more. Very pleased the agency is not used as much - their practice was poor/risky.
The caring is excellent. The food is lovely. The decor is lovely. I love enjoying the activities with my brother. Just everything is lovely. Overall, excellent.
Very happy with my brother's care and he is happy being here. Staff are approachable and courteous at all times.
Mum came in a year ago at the height of Covid restrictions. Been difficult to visit from time to time. Mum seems happy and has never complained about anything. Staff are very friendly and take good care of Mum.
My wife's communication improved once visiting opened up; I only hope that the threat of the Omicron variant does not lead to severe restrictions on visiting. The staff are invariably pleasant, cheerful and helpful. I cannot comment too much on activities but what I hear suggests they are as good as Covid restrictions allow. The menus for food and drink appear to be very good and she certainly seems to be thriving on it. I am content that, taking account of her difficulties, she is much better cared for than any at-home arrangement would allow. As far as I can judge, she is well cared for by kind, good-natured staff and is reasonably happy and content.
Good care home, friendly staff that Mum engages well with and the food looks good. I feel she is safe and well, but could do with more updates from nurses on well-being and still waiting on details for the WhatsApp group.
Management and nursing staff always helpful and giving any information concerning my mum. She has a lovely bright bedroom with patio doors looking out onto part of the garden. The care and emotional support from the nursing staff has been excellent. Thank you all.
Management and staff are always friendly and helpful, providing excellent care to the residents.
