View Full Details of Hollins ParkThis care home has a genuine warmth and amazing staff at every level. I can see that Mum is receiving exceptional nursing care and I believe this has helped her to get the most that she can out of life, despite the challenges of her condition. Just as importantly, I can see that she is being treated as the unique person that she is and, that she is valued and respected by her nurses and carers. As a relative I have felt supported at every stage of Mum's journey and have really valued the transparency and expertise of the team as I have had to navigate areas that are new to me (from health decisions to funding) and nothing has been too much trouble for any of them. My family and I have felt welcome every time we have walked through the door and my young child in particular, looks forward to seeing 'her friends' (the carers) as well as Nana, when she visits. Although of course we wish Mum didn't need a care home at all, we count ourselves extremely lucky to have found this one.
My husband moved into Hollins Park in April 2024 after 3 months in hospital. He has settled in brilliantly. The care and attention he is receiving shows how at home he feels. The transition in his personality and general wellbeing has been amazing. This has definitely been down to the management and staff and that includes EVERYONE. I spend a lot of time at the home and I see how ALL the staff interact with the residents. There is a genuine feel of care and love and nothing is too much trouble. The home has a very homely relaxed family aura about it. All the staff are very approachable and are happy to answer any queries or problems. Best decision I have ever made!!!
Very happy with the care my dad receives. Nothing too much trouble. Very helpful staff. I live a distance away but I know that my dad will be in capable hands. I couldn't ask for a better home or better care.
Writing this review is a challenge, as I wish to show the deeper significance of Hollins Park. It represents something profoundly meaningful to my family and me. When my mum arrived at Hollins Park as a complex case we were filled with anxiety about her moving into a care home. However, we were gently guided through the process, which eased our fears. As my mum nears the end of her journey, I can confidently say that Hollins Park will forever hold a special place in our hearts. What sets Hollins Park apart is an indescribable quality - care, consideration and a personalised touch that permeate every aspect of the home. Staff expertly balance professionalism with a family-like atmosphere and nurturing environment. The sense of community at Hollins Park ensures that residents never feel isolated or alone, making it a truly supportive place. To me Hollins Park is not just a care home; it's a compassionate community that has made a lasting impact on our family at a challenging time.
My lovely Mum has been a resident for nearly 4 years and as a family, we have nothing but praise and gratitude for the outstanding care she has received at Hollins Park. On her admission, Mum was extremely reactive to her hallucinations and delusions meaning her behavioural response to this was extremely challenging for all involved. I still find it incredible that with their skilled nursing, the manager and team managed to prevent a hospital admission for her during Covid, which was where we as a family thought we were heading. As leaders, the managers are very hands-on and lead by example. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere in the home, the staff know the residents well, and when I have visited I have noted that Mum is always treated with kindness and dignity, as are other residents. As a family, we have an excellent dialogue with the team who are responsive to our needs or requests for information. This is dementia care as it should be. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Everybody cares and is very friendly and I feel that my wife is well looked after and cared for. The home manager is very approachable and nothing is too much trouble. It’s lovely to see my wife happy and settled. Thank you to all the staff.
After visiting with mum today, I met with the Manager to discuss the ‘thinking ahead’ documents. It was useful to be able to express our wishes and expectations for mum's future care openly and honestly, and I am happy and confident that mum is being treated with care, compassion and dignity and that this will continue into the future. Thank you for your guidance and support, and for all that you contribute to mum’s care.
I am delighted with the service care and support my Mum gets at Hollins Park. The care home is spotlessly clean and extremely well run by the management team. A certain 3 members of staff are absolute superstars! As I live a long distance away, it is great to know that my Mum is getting fabulous care. I really cannot speak highly enough of the care home and the team. Thank you so much for all you do – it is hugely appreciated.
Nothing but praise for Hollins Park. Mum moved in last May 2023 after being evicted from her previous home. Right from her moving in the staff have all been wonderful with her. Nothing is a problem for them. They look for solutions to solve any problems not like the previous home. The staff are so kind with Mum. We were afraid Mum might not settle however no need to worry at all. Best move Mum made. She is much calmer and relaxed all due to the staff and general running of Hollins Park. Nothing is too much trouble from the staff for any of the residents. Credit must also go to the management of Hollins Park for their professionalism, approach, compassion and team spirit. Hollins Park has a great team of wonderful staff. Mum being there has also changed our lives because we know she is well cared for. We are more relaxed knowing she is in the best home. Can't thank the Hollins Park team enough.
We cannot praise Hollins Park enough. They are an amazing team of people, very well led by a strong management team. The staff are well trained and professional. They are always very caring of Mum, nothing is too much trouble for them. The management team are always available when we have anything we need to discuss about Mum’s care. Everyone was very supportive of us and Mum in helping her settle in. Mum moved to Hollins Park as her previous care home was unable to manage her advancing Alzheimer’s, she was very distressed, agitated, anxious and presented with very challenging behaviour. Since she has been at Hollins Park, we cannot believe the difference in her, Mum is a lot calmer, as they are able to support Mum when she is becoming distressed. Hollins Park is spotlessly clean, the food is excellent and has lovely gardens. There is an extensive programme of activities, which we think has helped to keep Mum calm. We would definitely give Hollins Park a five-star plus rating.
We moved Mum to Hollins Park as her last home couldn't support Mum with her developing needs. Mum has settled in very well and is now less anxious and doing very well. The team at Hollins are fantastic, everyone gives that little bit more and is very well practised at seeing Mum's condition change are quick to act and keep Mum on as even keel as possible. A well-run home with an exceptional leader, and great staff who are very welcoming and friendly, it's a real home from home. We can't thank Hollins Park enough.
The constant care my husband receives is excellent. This is provided in a friendly, compassionate manner whilst full vigilance is being kept at all times. The management is extremely helpful and informative. The accommodation is well planned. The reception rooms are bright with a cosy atmosphere. The home also benefits from mature garden areas.
Excellent staff throughout the home from management down. A very happy approachable efficient and knowledgeable well-trained team. I feel comfortable having my husband in their care, he is very happy and shows no sign of stress even though he has only been there for a month. I would recommend anyone looking for a pleasant and well-run home to have a good look at Hollins Park.
The Manager and all their team are simply exceptional. Our mum went psychotic with Lewy Body Dementia during covid lockdown leading to the most stressful period in our family's lives. After her care needs making it impossible to care for her at home they have provided the best care we could imagine As a healthcare professional myself I’m a great believer that the key factors in excellent healthcare are good leadership, training and having a team who genuinely cares. This looks to be true of all members of staff at Hollins Park and we would like to thank each and every one of you from the bottom of our hearts. Knowing that we don’t need to worry about what sort of care our mum is receiving is such a huge weight off our minds. Thank you again.
My husband has been a resident for the past six months. He has settled well and his care is exceptional. I visit most days and am always made welcome. Everyone from the manager and all the rest of the staff are available to sort out any problems which arise as my husband's condition changes. My husband really enjoyed spending time and helping in the lovely garden last summer. We certainly made the right choice when a place became available at Hollins Park.
My Partner has been a resident since May 2022. I cannot praise all of the staff too highly. They are professional in every way and look after him exceptionally well at all times. Nothing is too much trouble from the manager and her staff and are always available to answer any queries in a pleasant and professional way.
My father moved to Hollins Park due to Alzheimer's increasing care needs. All the team are professional, friendly and helpful always greeting you with a smile. Nothing is too much trouble. Dad needs constant care now as he is no longer able to communicate, the carer's expertise and knowledge provide him with reassurance, everyday activities and he is treated with kindness and respect. I receive regular updates on Dad's health and any changes without having to ask which is reassuring. I cannot praise the Hollins Park team enough and feel very fortunate knowing that my father is being cared for in a well managed, safe and comfortable environment.
I think Hollins Park is a wonderful home. I know my mum receives the best care possible. Having had her in another care home, we made the decision to move her and have never looked back. The home manager and her team strive for person-centred care and keep us as a family informed of any changes. They have so many residents with a high level of need and clearly excel in the care given with a high level of knowledge and expertise.
We all chose Hollins Park to look after our father when we read all the outstanding reviews on CQC and care home websites. We have not been disappointed! We feel Dad has an extended family in the staff and some of the residents he is now able to socialise with in the lounge. We feel happy and secure Dad is safe and as settled as he can be with his Lewy Body Dementia diagnosis. Every time we visit, we have contact and feedback from the nursing staff and management on any nursing needs or issues Dad may have. There is a very calm, happy atmosphere at Hollins Park. We feel Dad's care is 100%.
Since we moved Mum to Hollins Park in February 2022, and even with all the current Covid restrictions that are still in place, Mum has settled very quickly. All the staff are very friendly and take the time when I visit to make me feel welcome and to discuss Mum with me. From the short time that Mum has been a resident, I feel she is getting the care/support that she requires.
