View Full Details of Steeton Court Nursing HomeRecently my mum suffered a stroke or similar. She has been a resident at Steeton Court for nine years. The nurse called me and clearly described Mum's situation. When I arrived, a carer was with Mum, holding her hand. I had been hiking and was very dirty, so they offered me use of a shower. The nurses & carers were so kind and supportive of both mum & me. Mum is much better, I can't praise their care enough.
In Dec 2024 I had 2 members of my family in Steeton Court nursing home. Sadly one member was put on end-of-life care and sadly passed away before xmas, my second other family member could not have asked for better care for my brother, Mum and I were looked after every step of the way, everything explained to us and what was going to happen. When he passed away we were given time alone with him to take it all in. Even on the funeral day everything was organised for mum to attend. Could not wish for a better home, thank you.
The cooks, cleaners, care staff, management and office staff right down to the caretaker/gardener, I've nothing but praise for every single one of them. My friend was very happy in her new home Steeton Court Nursing Home was never too much trouble for any of the staff. It's such a lovely friendly caring and warm place and a fantastic atmosphere. The care staff are Angels. Everyone works tirelessly to support clients' family members as well as each other. It's an amazing home and I would highly recommend it to anyone.
We were very pleased with the care and support given to my mother. Furthermore, we appreciated being kept informed regularly about my mother. We were also made to feel welcome whenever went. Thank you.
My mum went to Steeton Court for end-of-life care. All the staff were so kind, considerate and helpful. It made the last week we had so much easier to bear. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and were always available for any questions we had. I would recommend Steeton Court to anyone.
My aunty came to Steeton Court on end-of-life and she was looked after by the staff throughout her time in there. The home is so friendly and has a lovely warm environment. When the time came, they could not do enough for us and my Aunty was cared for with dignity. I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending Steeton Court.
Mum came to live in Steeton Court in December as she was not coping on her own at home. Since moving in we have found Mum to be more settled and happier, the staff are very attentive and look after all her needs with care and dignity.
My mum was only in Steeton Court for ten days for end-of-life care and could not have been treated with more love, kindness and dignity.
My journey at the nursing home for 2 weeks at the beginning of 01/2024. I had a good experience at Steeton Court Nursing Home, my rating was 8 out of 10. In the day shift, there were plenty of care workers. On the floor, I was resistant to 12 care workers for 31 users at the time. The service was great, on the usual 2 minutes of myself pressing the on-call button a care worker would attend my room helping in a few minutes if not busy. The night staff care workers were less therefore assisting was longer in time. The activities coordinator team has really helped and is good. The kitchen was good catering to my halal deities and the food was delicious. The home staff were great at keeping the nursing home clean and tidy. The management team would take on board any issues I had.
Dad was admitted for end-of-life care. The staff ensured he was comfortable at all times. They engaged with him and listened to his choices. They really tried to please him. He always looked well looked after with his hair brushed and clean bedding and clothes. When his time came they contacted us in good time so we were able to be with him when he went. They treat us all with kindness and dignity. The way the home is divided into sections really makes it feel like personal care.
My late wife was only a resident at Steeton Court for two days before she sadly passed away. I have to say that during the short space of time, I was well impressed with the care and support that was shown not only to my wife but also to myself and other of my family members.
My mum stopped in Steeton Court only a short time until she passed away. The level of care and compassion from all the staff whilst she was there was impressive and first class. I cannot thank them enough for all their hard work dealing with Mum during a difficult time.
Since Mum has been under the care at Steeton Court, she has had full professional and caring support from all staff. Great care and empathy has been shown at all times to Mum and visitors. We're always made welcome and all staff are approachable. I would love to think that all vulnerable ageing people receive the same care as my mum has had. Great work! Team work makes the dream work.
When it became clear that my friend needed full-time, skilled nursing care, we visited several local homes. Without doubt, Steeton Court was the best choice, from the friendly yet very professional first visit, right through to her final weeks, I felt she was in a safe, caring environment, which attended to details. As a friend who visited occasionally (not a member of the family) I cannot speak for the day to day or details of care and support. I was impressed by the way the home allowed my friend to hold our reading group meetings in a communal room, so that she could host and continue her usual routines. We were all made very welcome. I was also delighted by the way the staff put up my friend's many decorations for the Coronation around her room and helped her dress up for the day. They also made it possible for her to host her own birthday party, little things that make a big difference and helped make this care home into a real home.
A lovely clean room, marvellous staff during the day - night too. Everyone was so friendly to me. I could get about, I used to walk up and down the corridor as I was there for respite because I had been so ill in the hospital and struggled to walk.
My brother-in-law was very happy at Steeton Court. He saw it as his home. The staff were very caring and supportive and always made time for a chat!
My brother lived here for almost five years. He felt well cared for, happy and well-liked in the home. Steeton Court was his home! It is well managed now and staffed with people who cared about him. Many of the staff are long-standing. This is essential for continuity and consistency of care.
I called to ask if there were any spaces at Steeton Court, and two lovely ladies (staff) let me look around. I really liked the place - very helpful. Called again after the weekend and had a chat with another lady, yet again, very, very helpful. My mum moved in six weeks, and we have found everything, first class. What a lovely place, lovely staff and very helpful and made my mum's stay excellent, and a fantastic experience for her to get back to good health. Friends called and stopped for lunch - all good. Thank you!
My wife could not have had any better care. She had continued care all day and night, and we all knew she would not survive this illness, and the support, I was also supported throughout this time. Also, the food was first class.
After spending almost 7 years in a wonderful care home in North Yorks, an assessment deemed Dad needing nursing care. We took the opportunity to move him to a home in West Yorkshire where we can visit more often. This was a traumatic experience not only for Dad but for all the family. We wanted to find somewhere as nice as possible for him and after looking at a few other nursing homes we arrived at Steeton Court, where all our prayers were answered. It is a haven of peace and tranquillity, where we were met with courtesy and kindness by the manager. She sorted out all the details for us and completely put our minds at rest. Dad moved to Steeton Court in July and has settled in well due to all the care and compassion he is shown. Having dementia it is difficult to converse with him but the staff have unlimited patience and we can never thank them enough. His needs are all catered for with a smile and a gentle touch. Our sincere thanks to everyone.
