View Full Details of Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care CentreFairways is the most wonderful, amazing place. Excellent care, the staff take time with Mum and nothing is too much trouble. I cannot find anything negative to say! Brilliant!
Mum got ill in the summer and needed urgent care and we were lucky enough to phone Fairways Newydd. We were immediately offered advice and support and a bed was made available for a respite stay. The manager gave us so much time despite mum not being a permanent resident. She is wonderful, kind, warm, funny and knowledgeable. I immediately felt relaxed and knew mum was in safe hands. Her leadership skills clearly filter down as all the staff are amazing. They are so patient and caring and good at their jobs. Everyone went above and beyond to make mums stay pleasurable. The rooms are excellent and the food is delicious. I cannot fault Fairways Newydd and would be happy for her to become a permanent resident. Wonderful experience.
My mum and us as a family have been made to feel so welcome and comfortable from our initial visit until today at Fairways Newydd. The staff are very friendly and caring and the manager runs this place very well. Mum has been very poorly recently and the nurses and care practitioners have looked after her needs extremely well. Thank you all at Fairways Newydd
My mother came to the home with Lewy Body dementia ad after breaking her hip in an alternative home. From arrival, she was treated with dignity and compassion. Staff used all means available to care for her every need. Even though she was asleep constantly she was kept changed and clean and comfortable all the time, This was a very upsetting time for us but we took comfort in knowing everything that could be done for Mum's care was being done. The home is exemplary from the first arrival to the nursing/care staff and cleaners who kept it fresh and clean.
Fairways Newydd is a very kind and caring nursing home. The staff do everything they can to provide a welcoming and homely atmosphere for residents and their families. The food is very good, which our mother really enjoys. The standards of cleanliness are very high, with cleaners seen daily. Communication is excellent, with any issues, medical or otherwise dealt with quickly and professionally. Our mother greatly appreciates the care and kindness she receives. A big thank you to all the staff at Fairways for their excellent care and hard work.
Cannot thank staff enough for the excellent care my mum receives. My mum was very poorly when admitted to Fairways after a lengthy stay at hospital. When she arrived she would not eat or drink. Would not converse with people and had lost a considerable amount of weight. The outcome was poor, but with the excellent care, support and patience she received from staff, she has made an amazing recovery. She is now eating and drinking well and loves the banter with staff. Her recovery is so remarkable that she is now well enough to come home. We are thrilled as this would have been impossible months ago.
This is a well-equipped nursing home, where they do their best to provide a caring and homely atmosphere. Any issues we have raised have been dealt with quickly and courteously. The food is very good and is enjoyed by our relative. There is always cleaning going on when we visit and everywhere looks well-maintained and safe. The only ongoing issue is with the lifts not working which is inconvenient for our relative and disabled visitors. Would recommend.
Very happy with Fairways. My mother improved a lot, care is very good. Staff are very good.
Date of visit: 1st September 2023 - found Mum settled in the lounge and comfortable. I am aware she has suffered recently from an infection and received an update from the staff (nurses station). I was reassured that she had recovered and all well, much was good news. As per previous visits - her room was clean and tidy and Mum was clean and tidy too! All in all, very reassured with the level of care my mum continues to receive.
My mother-in-law was admitted here earlier this year with onset dementia. The care that she has received has been outstanding, nothing is too much trouble and everyone goes above and beyond to be helpful. All the staff, care staff, nurses, doctors and receptionists, are really caring and will always be there for you during your relative's stay. Not only are they here for the residents but also for the families, it's really appreciated at such a hard time.
Overall a positive experience. The care staff are always friendly, helpful and caring. My father is always treated kindly and with dignity. The unit is kept clean and tidy and the meals are appropriate for my father's changing needs. He loves the food here! Unfortunately, the nursing staff are generally invisible and I usually feel they're too busy to discuss my father's needs. I worry that this poor communication may affect his care quality and hope inter-team talks take place. Even email requests for information remain unanswered (wheelchair assessment update request). Management easier to talk to.
The home is very welcoming and understanding. My mother struggled to settle and this was taken into consideration. Well done Fairways Newydd Nursing and Dementia Care Centre!
Very welcoming atmosphere as soon as you walk in by reception, that instantly makes you feel welcome. All the care staff are absolutely amazing and friendly, always ready to have a nice chat and if we have any worries they do an absolutely amazing job.
I consider I am very lucky. My wife is being loved and looked after.
Fantastic care home with wonderful staff. No restrictions on visiting means I can pop in whenever I want to see my mum. She's been here since January 2023, and the staff are absolutely brilliant. Lots of events for the residents and great care. Thanks to everyone there.
I want to send a huge thank you to Fairways, Newyd. My husband was cared for in a wonderful way. He was so great as we are as his family. You supported him and us in an amazing way. They all went beyond the expected level of care. You were all our friends. You and your fantastic team of carers never failed to see to his needs and treated him with love and dignity. This level of care extended to the cleaners who keep Fairways spotless in such a cheerful way. The kitchen staff tried to create food to tempt and please him. We will not hesitate to recommend Fairways.
My mother has just become a resident at Fairways Newydd Care Center, and we as a family, could not be happier with the excellent accommodation and facilities there. The staff do an amazing job and are always ready to help in any way they can. We could not have found a better care home for our loved ones. Definitely the best one in our area by far. We would not hesitate to recommend it to other families who find themselves in need of a placement for their loved ones. Five stars are not enough.
My father was admitted to Fairways end of October 22 after a three-and-a-half-month stay in the hospital. From the onset, Fairways provided excellent care for my father. The manager was very professional and extremely easy to talk to and deal with. She showed compassion and cared for my father in such a caring manner, as did all of the staff in Fairways. The home was very clean, the food was excellent, and the home itself had a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. We, as a family, were all so delighted.
Having looked after my wife suffering from dementia for 5 years, I was very worried when the time came that I couldn't cope anymore and had to go into care. But I didn't need to because in the few months that she has been in Fairways Newydd she has settled down a lot and become much happier and it is all down to the caring nurses and staff. I cannot thank them enough.
If you’re reading this then you’re either inquisitive or your life has just changed forever. Has a loved one been given a terminal diagnosis like our Dad? Or maybe a Dementia sufferer like our Mum. No one tells you where to look. Maybe social worker at hospital or at Council? Or a neighbour's aunt went somewhere years ago? Our parents were obviously going to a) live forever with no ailments b) die peacefully in their sleep at allotted time c) no flipping idea. Fairways Newydd accepted our Mum as a patient with barely any notice, she was being mistreated at another care home and we needed Fairways Family to come to our rescue again. Fairways Newydd was better suited for Mum's needs with Vascular Dementia. She’d been traumatised deeply by what she’d experienced in the preceding 7 months at another elderly residential home. Thank you Fairways Newydd for truly outstanding care, above and beyond kindness and always professional.
