View Full Details of Norwood House Nursing HomeThe thing that sets Norwood House apart is the incredible staff. The carers and nurses have been very consistent and from my experience of visiting over the past few years, there doesn't seem to be a high turnover of staff which is great - the home has a family feel. The staff know each resident well and know exactly what to do to help residents feel calm, happy and comfortable. Myself and my family are always greeted warmly by the carers when we visit and they always have smiles on their faces. My mum is always washed, dressed and comfortable and enjoys the social activities and games. Activities and events for residents and their families are varied and thoughtful. We are pleased with the recent return of the care home manager and the appointment of the team leader who has been very supportive.
Always plenty of staff. Staff always considerate to visitors. When needed, the staff members are always patient and never rushing the resident. Staff have time for visitors and listen to what we have to say. Very attentive to the residents needs. In the time my brother was at Norwood House I felt I could trust him into their care. Thank you so much.
I am very happy with the care my husband is receiving at Norwood. The staff are all friendly and kind, the food is good with varied choices. I would have no hesitation recommending Norwood to anyone.
We have generally been really happy with Norwood. The staff are lovely and respectful. Activities are frequent and as inclusive as possible. The care is good and is adjusted for Mum's needs as they change. We are delighted in the recent return of the original manager whose oversight definitely takes standards to another level.
I would recommend Norwood House to anyone looking for a place to take great care of their loved ones.
Feeling very happy with the care given to my dad. Family always receives a warm welcome one big happy family here at Norwood House brilliant activities to keep residents active and involved in their daily lives.
We are so pleased to have found Norwood House having experienced a care home that was not suitable. The staff, owners and manager are really friendly and welcoming. Mum is spending time with others rather than on her own. The activities are many and varied and staff feedback when she has had a good day and been happy which makes a massive difference as we often miss these moments. Mum is clean and well cared for so while the progression of her Alzheimer's is still grim and upsetting, we now know we have done the best we can.
My mum is very happy here, she thinks the world of the staff who work here. The care and support they give to her is second to none. Staff treat her how they would want a member of their own family to be treated; with respect and dignity. Nothing is too much trouble, a truly wonderful happy environment. I feel she is well supported and cared for which means I don't have to worry. The decoration is not the best and could do with an update, but I'm not too worried about this as I'd rather funding be put into staffing and day to day care. Keep up the good work, I really do appreciate what you do for my mum.
I didn’t think I would ever see my my mum so happy and settled. The continual level of care is exceptional and the care home is filled with love and laughter. Staff go the extra mile routinely and residents are treated with respect. We all feel very lucky to be part of this lovely community.
Difficult to sum up, on arrival my mum settled very quickly - me I took a little longer. The staff, during my transition, were attentive and supportive but most importantly did not dismiss my concerns. Within a short space of time, I was dancing with my mum to different music. My mum was no t only allowed to be herself, but actively encouraged. I soon began to enjoy visiting and looked forward. Norwood House gave my mum the last 7 months of her life with family.
Norwood worked wonders with my husband when he arrived from the hospital. He was unable to walk, but they soon had him walking and joining in with fantastic activities. He settled quickly into his new surroundings. The staff were fantastic, and the love, care and devotion they give to the residents are truly off the scale. The food was excellent, all fresh fruit and vegetables every day, cooked breakfast, same at tea the super - fantastic. In his eaten weeks, the amount of care he needed was never any trouble to any of the management and carers. No words are enough; the dignity and respect for him were there to the end. Amazing nursing home with dedicated staff. Thank you.
My husband has been quite poorly over this last month, and the staff have been amazing. They care for his needs without delay; they have respect, politeness and dignity throughout. The management keeps me up to date on a regular basis, and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would certainly recommend Norwood House to anyone looking for a nursery home.
On first arriving at Norwood House after reviewing several other nursing homes we felt comfortable with the owner and management. They were very helpful in making arrangements for our relative to be registered. The day-by-day activities were very good i.e entertainment, trips out etc. As dementia continued to get worse the care and well-being was superb, right through to the end-of-life care. We were always kept informed constantly which gives you a great peace of mind. It's so important to have places like this. A big thank you goes out to everyone at Norwood House for making the last years of our relative positive and comfortable.
My father went to Norwood House in February 2022 with frontal temporal dementia, he was in the latter stages of this illness. He settled immediately, the meals that are served are fresh local produce all cooked on site, he had a lovely upstairs shared room which he enjoyed. He was brought downstairs each day to sit in the conservatory or one of the lounges so he could interact with other residents and join in the daily activities on offer. The atmosphere at Norwood is that of one big happy family, I cannot speak highly enough of each and every member of staff and management. Nothing is too much trouble for them. Unfortunately, dad passed away yesterday, 08/12/2022 but I can honestly say that during his final ten months, he has received nothing less than 5* care and compassion whilst being at Norwood House. I would, and have, recommended Norwood House to anyone looking for excellent care for their relative.
My father was looked after with great care by all the staff at the home and we were always welcome to visit at whatever time of day. I was happy for him to stay here for his last weeks because they were able to give him a much higher standard of care and relief from pain than I could manage at home.
I cannot fault Norwood House Nursing Home. It's like home from home one big family. All staff from cleaners to management very friendly, helpful and caring. Keeping me well informed on how my husband was doing. He settled in really well here. I would definitely recommend Norwood house nursing home to anyone. Excellent.
My brother had been at Norwood House Nursing Home for over two years and was very happy and well cared for. The manager and all his staff were all so efficient and caring nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I wish to thank everyone for being there for him and all his family.
Overall I am very satisfied with the care of my husband. Over time as we have become accustomed to the ways he has become settled and a respected resident. He is given individual attention for his own specific interests. The food is excellent, plentiful and nutritious and he loves every morsel. The community at the home is best like his new caring family.
My mum has been in Norwood House for seven years. The care from all the staff has been extremely good, the manager, in particular, has been very informative about everything happening to my mum. I'm very happy knowing that she is cared for in Norwood.
Mum has Alzheimer’s and due to a bout of delirium, she was in hospital and then in Norwood House for another month. Even though the actual rooms are a bit outdated and slightly down at heel, I gave it a 5* rating as the aesthetics were not import to us or mum. The care was good and cheerful, the communication, mainly from the office and the manager was excellent,. The food was very good, they managed to get a couple of kilos onto mum whilst she was there which was needed. They facilitated visits efficiently, no mean feat in Covid times. We were lucky, mum recovered to her pre-delirium state and she was able to come home with the support of family and carers. The handover to the community was excellent, the social worker said it was ‘the best she’d ever had. So very satisfied.
