View Full Details of Barchester Threshfield Court Care HomeA truly first class facility with the caring and professional staff team to ensure a throughly safe, secure and successful stay! Mum was resident for more than a year before passing away peacefully. I can not priase the staff highly eough. Care was brilliant, medial support first class and the food, support and personal care was exemplary! Even at times when the home was very busy staff made time for individual support and care and always made time for a cuppa and a chat. The individual attention was also much appreciated - the 'would you like a cuppa', popping in for a quick chat, 'how are you today' made all the difference and gave family the confidence and trust to know mum was in good hands. Staff are a genuine team! with clear support and care / concern for one another. This then feeds-thru to residents in that there is uniformity of care, standards are upheld and quality is foremost. Honest!
We sadly lost our mother in January and are really missing our regular visits. Mum was a resident at Threshfield for 3 years but, prior to this, had respite care on a number of occasions for up to 3 weeks duration. We have been impressed with all the staff, who always made us feel welcome, but in particular for the standard of care they gave mum. She was able to live her final years in lovely surroundings and with excellent nursing care. We loved seeing all the photos on the social media page, particularly when the animals visited. It kept us in the loop and gave us peace of mind that mum was involved in the many activities. We are also extremely grateful for the support the staff gave us in the last few days of mum's life. They carried out regular checks on mum but did so unobtrusively, giving us space to spend time alone with her. The staff also offered us food and drink and couldn't have been kinder when the end approached. We are so lucky to have found this wonderful care home.
My mother has been a resident in Threshfield Court Care Home for the last 6 years. During that time her care has been second to none. She was almost totally deaf and had sight issues as well as advanced dementia but EVERY member of the staff team treated her with respect and compassion. She had the happiest time living there.
Thank you all for the care you gave my sister on her recent visit, sorry I did not come indoors to collect her but had a bad cold and did not want to pass it on. She came home clean and happy. Thank you all again.
During the week, Mum is cared for very well and her room is kept clean. The activities coordinator tries her hardest to get Mum to join in activities and managed to get her out on Thursday to a creamery centre, which she enjoyed. I know Mum is hard to please but appreciate the efforts the staff make in her day-to-day living. Thank you to all the staff.
I live in the US and typically visit my mother every three to four months. During my recent visit in September, I witnessed several staff going the extra mile with my mother's care. As her dementia progresses, she can be quite be quite difficult to care for and rude to staff. Despite this, the staff continue to give their utmost care and attention to her.
My mother is a regular guest for respite. The care that she receives is fantastic. She enjoys the food and she is able to enjoy the views over the garden. The staff are, without exception, kind and caring.
We are really impressed with Barchester Threshfield Court Care Home and thankful to the whole team for their input. The living spaces are clean, tidy and homely. The ongoing health care is impressive. The social connections and activities are engaging. Our relative settled well and is enjoying life there. There is clearly a team behind the scenes as well as up-front and we would like to thank everyone for their care and commitment.
I recently returned home from a nine-day respite stay at Barchester Threshfield Court Care Home due to family commitments. I was unsure what to expect but pleasantly surprised after my stay. The staff /carers, apart from one male member, were caring and attentive. The food was excellent. All in all, my stay was comfortable.
Excellent all-round. Dedicated and hardworking staff. Thank you!
As soon as you enter the care home you are greeted by the friendly care home staff who always greet you with a smile. It's always clean and fresh and always a lovely homecooked smell coming from the kitchen - it must make the residents feel very comforted. The lovely staff and the activities coordinator go above and beyond to make the residents (my great-auntie) feel cared for and loved, for example, getting them well-thought-out presents or little outings to farms to see animals. Overall, a splendid care home with very caring staff.
Barchester Threshfield Court Care Home is conveniently located very near our daughter's house. My husband has stayed on two occasions. He has had a room overlooking the garden. Staff have helped with all aspects of his care in a friendly, professional, sensitive and caring manner. I have been able to join my husband for lunch in the restaurant or in the coffee area, whichever we preferred. Decor and communal areas are lovely.
I am delighted that my husband is able to reside at Threshfield Court. It has made an enormous difference with regards to his health and well-being. When first arriving he wanted to come home with me as he did not understand the situation. Thanks to the staff, who are first class, caring, kind, very friendly, professional, and patient, he now appears to have settled. The activities are another bonus and so interesting for the residents - alpacas, puppies, excursions to the surrounding areas in the mini bus, outside guests with all sorts of agendas to amuse. The grounds in which to saunter around, are very calming with the fauna and flora. Another surprise was a homemade birthday cake, with candles, presented to my husband - he was thrilled! Threshfield Court is an accolade to all who help make the residents and their families/friends feel at home. I can happily recommend Threshfield Court Care Home.
The staff have made every effort to make sure my mother is settled and content. As relatives, we always feel valued and welcome when visiting, and there is a relaxed, open atmosphere in the care home, with very approachable staff in all areas. One suggestion is to have a member of staff trained in the use of modern hearing aids - hearing is critical to mental health, and I think this could be greatly improved. Everything else is extremely good.
My husband appears settled and happy at Threshfield Court, and after an initial stay of 28 days, my family and I have decided to make his residency permanent. He enjoys the carried activities. The staff are very caring and courteous. Sometimes the unit appears very quiet, but that could coincide with my afternoon and weekend visits. The surroundings are lovely, and hopefully, outdoor activities will be possible as the weather improves.
The activities coordinator is really good at Barchester Threshfield Court Care Home. Always plenty of varied activities for the residents to join in, i.e. days out. She is a credit to this care home.
My father lived at Threshfield Court Care Home for 8 months and passed away on 19th January 2024. The care he received was kind, caring and thoughtful, he always sat in his own chair looking out of the large lounge windows at the bird table he loved and when he wanted to he joined in activities that were available. His end-of-life care was so caring and staff could not have done more for us as a family at what was a very sad time, they were genuinely sympathetic and anticipated all his and our needs during his last hours. We were so impressed with his care, it made his passing easier for us. Thank you.
Visited a new resident recently. From arriving at Barchester Threshfield Court Care Home to leaving, 3 hours later, the friendliness and professionalism of the staff were first-class. Genuinely interested in getting to know my friend to help her settle in. Every staff member we met introduced themselves and made a point of talking to residents. The home was immaculate and spotless with very comfortable lounges. Hospitality towards visitors was exceptional.
My husband at 97 is as happy as he can be in Threshfield Court Care Home. The staff are kind and he never smells even the bedridden. The home itself is clean and does not smell in any way. There is nothing worse than going into a home with bad odours. I would recommend this care home.
Excellent care and kindness.
