View Full Details of Sycamore Lodge Care HomeAs I am out of the country for a while does not mean have let my care of the resident go without. If anything is required by, I make sure the money is transferred to Sycamore Lodge Care Home. I make frequent phone calls not only to the resident but also to the caring staff at Sycamore Lodge. Staying in touch with everyone does help and I would recommend any families that have moved away, does not mean an end to being kind and considerate to those in care and those that look tend to their needs. The staff at Sycamore go above and beyond their care of duty, that has always been the case. This resident has always said happy to be there. Personal TV in the room and plays music with two friends who visit once a week. They are even arranging entertainment for the other residents. My recommendation for family members is stay in touch on a regular basis because at one time, these residents would have looked after you throughout your life.
My mother has been a resident since 2023, have never had any issues whatsoever. Recently they have introduced a sensory light to my mother's room which seems to have stimulated her from being asleep all the time. The staff and management are excellent, and show, to me anyway, how a care home should be run, showing an interest in all residents and visitors, and treat all residents with great respect and understanding.
My mum recently moved to Sycamore Lodge, and the move was a stressful, emotional time for her and the rest of the family. However, from our very first contact, we have been impressed with the service they provide, their friendly approach, the care they are providing and the professional way things seem to be organised. Mum has said she feels happy and is starting to feel settled. I have been happy, and sometimes amazed to see her progressing to take her meals with others in the dining room and beginning to take part in activities. I am so impressed with the link to her new GP practice and service offered by the Primary Care Network which was accessed by the Sycamore staff on behalf of my mum. As we all begin to get used to this 'new normal ' for our family, I am incredibly grateful to the Management team and staff who have made the transition so much easier for all of us than we ever thought it was going to be.
My nan currently resides in the care home and the care home is always welcoming to me and my children during visits as well as ensuring they provide updates when we can't visit. My nan seems to have settled in lovely and hasn't complained about anything, but how can you when you have cake and coffee on tap! Keep it up ladies and gents!
I am a daughter of resident here at Sycamore Lodge. I feel that Mum gets great care here, staff are very responsive and understanding. Mum seems very happy and settled here and calls it her home. I would recommend it to anyone searching for a care placement for their loved ones.
Sycamore Lodge was very accommodating and helpful when my mother-in-law needed 24/7 care after being ill. We have found them to be friendly, very knowledgeable and able to help and assist us through a challenging period. All staff are so caring and understanding of my mother-in-law's needs and are flexible to accommodate her. I feel comfortable and confident in leaving her in their care and know she will be happy and looked after well.
Helpful staff who go out of their way to make the stay of the people there safe, happy and cared for. The food is lovely and offers a varied choice at every mealtime. The whole place is clean and welcoming. Nice garden area, which is safe to enjoy.
The care given to my friend has been outstanding. All staff are kind, friendly and act with respect.
Communication very good. Staff very supportive and helpful. My dad always says the food is good. Home is always clean and rooms cleaned regularly.
My mother is 88-years-old and was in the hospital for three weeks and was very ill with multiple health problems. The family was unhappy with her previous care home, and so after looking at care home reviews (CQC website), we chose Sycamore Lodge Care Home, and we were very pleased with the standard of health care, especially that she was so unwell. The staff are warm, friendly and very approachable. Unfortunately, Mum passed away, and the end of life care was very good.
Due to the restrictions imposed because of the pandemic, I'm not able to give more accurate ratings. Whilst we're satisfied and happy that my parents were being cared for, it was obviously understandable that we had no access to the home other than the visitor's room hence the ratings. Otherwise, we're very happy with Sycamore Lodge.
Moving Dad to Sycamore Lodge has been the best decision we have made, he is so well looked after and is settled and contented. The recent pictures of V E day show just how much effort and hard work the staff put into to keeping the residents entertained and happy. A big thank you to all the staff for the excellent care they give.
My mother, who admitted following an operation for a fractured femur. Because of Covid regs, I was not able to go inside part from one visitor's room, so cannot comment on facilities or cleanliness. However, Mother was well cared for, and she was treated well. She thought the staff were lovely. She loved her full English in the morning. The staff were very supportive of me as her daughter and carer.
Generally, I have been happy with the care and facilities offered to my wife during her stay at Sycamore Lodge Care Home.
Transferred my mum to Sycamore Lodge after she was failed by her previous care home. Mum looks so much better here. She is so clean and well looked after it's like looking at a different person. Thank you to all the wonderful staff for all your care especially through this horrible pandemic. Our family feel 100% satisfied she is safe and well cared for, we can rest and feel peace now.
During this terrible time of COVID-19, we have been extremely impressed with how the home has kept its residents, including our mother, safe and their caring attitude when called to check on her, often taking the phone to her so we could talk to her. She has only been with them since January this year but we are so happy we moved her there. Thank you to all the staff, we are extremely grateful.
My sister is very well cared for at Sycamore Lodge. She has multiple medical issues which are all catered for in the home. She is very happy and contented. They have looked after her well since COVID-19 lockdown, and I am extremely happy with their standard of care which is excellent. I have not rated Food and Drink and Activities as she is not able to use them but I know they are excellent.
My mother had a weeks respite care in Sycamore Lodge in July 2020. She has some extremely complex stoma issues and this was a big worry for me. However, the staff coped with these issues more than adequately. Very satisfied with this home on the whole and a special mention for one Nurse; she was excellent in every aspect. Many thanks.
My mum was in Sycamore for over six years and in that time both my mum and myself had no complaints about the care she received.
The first impression I didn't know. Wasn't sure, but now my views are good. Care is very good. Nothing too much to ask and one to one is very good with the care needed.
