View Full Details of Mariners Park Care HomeMy mother's daily lived experience is of the utmost importance. During the month of August, my mother enjoyed all of the activities on offer to the residents of the care home. My mother's health is naturally a worry due to her age. Her dignity was paramount to the staff when Mum had an episode of not reaching the toilet. Mum called to the staff to help her and two members came immediately, her dignity was upheld, and no expectations of Mum to feel embarrassed, her bathroom routine was to wash her, help her change, her clothes swiftly taken to the wash and within 15 minutes Mum was all good to carry on with her afternoon. Two members of staff supported my mum, the nurse came to ask if mum was okay after the episode and provide reassurance this happens from time to time. The kindness of words and the reassurance was beyond exceptional. My mother's daily lived experience in the care home is excellent and her care is outstanding. Her quality of life has improved even if we cannot stop the ageing process.
My mother has been in the Atlantic wing at Mariners Park Care Home for a year now and I can not praise the management and care staff highly enough. The staff are friendly and efficient and always have time for a chat. Any concerns are dealt with promptly and efficiently. My mother adores the activities, particularly singing, music and movement. She enjoys having her nails painted and her hair done. The social interaction has had a real positive impact on her general demeanour compared to when she was living at home. We enjoy going to the Trinity House hub with my mum on our visits, for a cup of tea and a teacake (and a full English for my husband!) where we enjoy the spectacular views across the Mersey. So happy and relieved we managed to find this gem of a place for my lovely Mum.
I visit the care home usually on a weekly basis to visit my friend. My first contact is reception, very friendly and helpful each time I visit answering any questions I may have. Walking down the corridor also greeted by various members of staff always with a smile. Passing the hair salon, a great atmosphere for service users and friendly staff again. The care home has recently been redecorated and looks great always clean and tidy. The dining area is a lovely place to catch up for a coffee with other service users outside of their rooms and the catering staff do everything possible to accommodate users staff and visitors. Overall no complaints a great place to be.
I think I'm very lucky that Mum was able to get a place at Mariners Park two and a half years ago. I guess no one wants to be in a care home, least of all my mum, but all the staff - administrative, caring, household and nursing - are consistently kind, accommodating, understanding and generous, and they made her feel at home right from the start. I've visited a lot of care homes in recent years in relation to my parents, other relatives and friends, and very very few bear comparison with Mariners Park.
All members of the staff at Mariners Park are always kind, thoughtful and understanding, to use just 3 words. My wife has been at Mariners for nearly 5 years with dementia and has been slowly declining. The staff have cared for her at the appropriate level throughout, and as her needs have changed with time so staff members have adjusted the care being provided. I am enormously grateful to them all for looking after my wife so well. I am kept advised of the situation and am given updates when the need arises. The rooms, the lounge and the dining area are always clean and bright which makes life so pleasant for everyone.
Friendly and dedicated staff who not only look after my Mother very well but who are always supportive of me. Good passage of information. The activity program is now very good. I have full confidence in the care home and in the way in which they care for my mother.
Mum is very well cared for and evidently loved by the staff. The home is always clean, bright and welcoming. Meals appear to be good quality & variety including lovely snacks. All staff are very friendly and spend time to talk to mum & us whenever needed. As we live a distance away it is a big relief to know that we don't have to worry about the care that Mum receives. There appears to be an ethos of continuous improvement & a proactive approach to treating Mum's condition. We have also felt cared for by the staff.
My aunt has been a resident since December 2018. In this time the staff have strived to ensure that she is content and comfortable. Their communication is very good and I feel secure that my aunt is well looked after.
My mum has been in care for approximately 15 months. The care my mum receives is excellent, Mum is happy in the care home and her needs are met. I'm lucky enough to be able to chat with my mum about what's important to her so I believe I have absolute confidence in knowing that she is being well looked after, cared for and kept safe. Staff (upper floor) go out of their way to cater for Mum's needs with dignity, respect, humour, patience and compassion. I know that I can approach any team member and senior management with any concerns I might have and I am listened to and supported. Importantly I love to see the interaction between the staff and my mum, Mum's face just lights up. It's truly heartwarming to see her cheeky smile. My observations conclude that the staff are led by examples of good practice and leadership, which in turn has created a healthy workplace environment. All together absolutely beneficial to the ongoing care my mother receives. Thank you.
Both my mum (now sadly passed away last year), and dad have benefitted from the outstanding level of care from all of the staff at Mariners Park Care Home. They have become family to my dad and myself and go above and beyond for their Mariners family. I have absolute faith and trust that they care for my dad as I did. I am kept in touch and can ask any questions which are answered clearly and honestly. The home is a happy, caring environment with support available for myself and my brother who is based in New Zealand. I am so glad that my lovely dad got to go to Mariners Park.
Excellent standards of care, lovely staff, just so happy my Nan is there. It's so clean and bright and it's such a relief knowing she's well looked after and not just stuck in her room on her own all day. Her room is nice but it's nice that she can go to the lounge and onto the balcony outdoor area.
All staff are friendly and helpful. They care for my mum with respect and compassion and always seem happy to chat with mum and me no matter how busy they are. The home is welcoming and spotlessly clean.
My mother has received fantastic care since having moved to Mariners Park. Her residence has been within both the care home and sheltered accommodation. The ability to have been able to adapt her care between different facilities sets Mariners apart from most other nursing and care homes. The staff are wonderful. They are supportive of the whole family unit. The carers are supportive and compassionate. They treat my mother with respect and kindness. The admin and management staff are helpful and professional. The views are great too!
The staff and nurses here took such incredible care of my Dad, they’re compassionate and truly care about their patients and families. Not only is the staff great, the facility is clean and welcoming. We would visit my Dad several times a day and come and go at different times, and we were always greeted warmly. I can’t thank them enough for all they did for us, always went above and beyond for my Dad. Highly recommend this wonderful place.
Very caring home with lovely staff. My uncle seems happy and well looked after. It's lovely to see everyone knows his name and talks to him if he passes by and lovely activities are organised too.
I was just back in Wallasey for a week to see Mum so I was in and out of Mariners Park several times a day between 21/8 and 28/8. Mum had recently moved rooms and had made the transition very well. Mum has significant memory issues and the staff were marvellous and patient in their dealings with her. Mum sometimes gets frustrated towards the end of the day and the staff deal with it calmly and sympathetically and are able to calm her down and make her feel she is in the right spot. Which she is! The family and I are thrilled with the care Mum is getting and we know that she is safe and well looked after. Little things matter and mum had just had her nails done and was really enjoying the look and colour of her new nails. Mum loves being out in the sun and the staff know this and help her set up a chair on the deck whenever the weather allows. My father would be very pleased to know that his time in the Merchant Navy has enabled Mum to have such excellent care from the staff at Mariners Park Care Home. Thank you!
Mariners Park Care Home has an amazing layout with high-quality furnishings, beautiful balconies and a park I walk my brother in. You are local to the promenade for picnics on the beach and a stroll when the weather is nice. The nursing care is excellent and they are caring and in touch with you when any incidences occur. The overall care staff are really nice and friendly you cannot but help feel a part of a big family. There are little incidences like missing clothes and ornaments but these are more the symptoms of dementia in the patients and often we can have a laugh about it. So long as communication loops are open between everyone the smooth running of Mariners will maintain its excellent service and family environment. My brother is settled and happy and any requests to get him ready for a trip out are managed well. Special shout out to the dementia nurse and the team who care for my brother. They all go the extra mile when needed.
My nan has been in Mariners Park for about 20 years now, in different accommodations according to her needs at the particular time. She's 91 and in the care home now and I wouldn't have her in any other place. She's well looked after and being there so long she's comfortable with her surroundings. Hard not to be with a good standard of care and housing plus amazing views over the Mersey. I have no issues in recommending Mariners Park to those eligible.
Our mum has been in Mariners Park Care Home now since February 2020. Mum needed 24-hour care and we could not have asked for a better place, the staff are all amazing with Mum she has really settled. We feel we can sleep at night knowing Mum is in safe hands and looked after 24/7. The home is so lovely and clean and has amazing views over the river, it's so nice. Thank you to everyone here at Mariners, Mum is loving it here with you all.
The two weeks my dad spent here, were absolutely fantastic. It did both him and my mum the world of good. The staff were amazing with my dad, we couldn't have asked for more kind, caring people. They gave us such peace of mind. They made such a fuss of him while he was there. It was his birthday while he was there, they gave him a birthday present, and took the time to open his cards and go through them with him. He's looking forward to his next visit. Thank you for looking after my dad so well.
