View Full Details of The Arkley Care HomeVery friendly staff and manager who have helped my mum settle into the home quickly. Good food, range of activities and always made to feel welcome when visiting.
I have been most impressed by the level of care being offered. The staff overall have presented a warm and caring attitude towards residents and visitors alike. What has impressed me the most however, is the impact the new manager appears to be having. As I do not live locally, I am dependent on email and telephone communications, should I have questions that need to be addressed or responded to. I greatly value the personal care and attention the manager has devoted to addressing questions I have asked. I definitely feel that my friend's care has been enhanced because of this service. A lovely building is one thing, but it becomes so much more of a caring home with the correct staff in place. My thanks to all for what they are doing for all the residents.
Mum came to The Arkley Care Home needing care, love and nourishment. I am very pleased to say the team at The Arkley delivered on each count. We were very pleased with the care Mum received whilst at The Arkley. There was always a welcome for all family members when visiting.
Basically, happy with all aspects of my wife's care in The Arkley. More so with the new manager.
The home provides a good standard of care. The catering staff provided an excellent Christmas lunch which was great! Communications between carers over treatment procedures could perhaps be improved to maintain consistency.
Overall I am satisfied with the care my mother is receiving in The Arkley Care Home. The only problem has been in the past is that the level of care and listening hasn't been consistent but since the new manager has started I can see a lot of improvement. I feel like the staff are more disciplined, even more ecaring and listening to our concerns when something arise. I thank aeveroyne at The Arkley for being so friendly - everyone always sats 'hello' which is nice.
I highly recommend this care home for its exceptional staff and outstanding quality of care. The carers are incredibly attentive, patient, and compassionate, showing remarkable understanding of my mum's complex needs. Their dedication to her well-being is evident in the way they handle even the most challenging situations with professionalism and empathy. The new manager has had a transformative impact on the home, responding to questions with efficiency and genuine care. She has built a culture of excellence and attentiveness that is felt throughout the team. There are truly special people working here who consistently go above and beyond to ensure residents feel valued and cared for. From the chefs, maintenance, nurses and carers. Their patience, kindness, and ability to adapt to individual needs are exemplary. I am incredibly grateful for the support they provide and the positive difference they make in my mum's life.
My mum was a resident here for the last few months and as we are over 300 miles away it was so reassuring to have her in a safe place with caring staff to look after her. Whenever we visited, every one of the staff we met was so friendly and there was always a nice feel to the place, I cannot thank them enough for all the care they showed her.
The process of admission for my friend has been really well handled by care home manager, she has been really fantastic at communicating and keeping us in the loop. The manager and the team have been very welcoming and friendly to my friend as she adjusts to the new environment. So far things are going really well and I like the feel and the look of the home in general. Thank you for making this an easy transition for my friend.
Mum is respected and treated with dignity. We are appreciative of Mum's care. She has been made to feel very settled.
My father went into The Arkley Care Home for end-of-life care. We were unsure about moving my dad into any care home, however, the team of dedicated staff put our minds at rest. We were very impressed by how quickly Dad's health needs were assessed by external officials working with the home. As a result, my dad passed away peacefully and with dignity and we were supported by a medical nurse at the end. Thank you to all the staff at The Arkley Care Home.
I volunteer at The Arkley with my pet therapy dog. I work in a hospital and started visiting after one of the patients I supported was placed there. This is a beautiful care home. When you enter the downstairs there is a huge indoor garden, amazing and so innovative. The residents are really cared for, in every sense of the word. You can see this in the interactions between them and the staff. The home manager is very caring and hands-on. In my professional life, I have visited many care homes over the years. The Arkley is one of the best.
From arriving at the care home last year we were made so welcome, the staff are very friendly, and the home is very welcoming. All care required by my friend was provided and was quality care. We have now left to go back home but will be returning for respite visits. Over 2 years we have been here, it is a home away from home. My family and I are eternally grateful.
Arkley Home is just the most lovely place, my aunt is so much happier here. Everyone is so friendly and the atmosphere is light and bright. We had a last minute booking for lunch which was very good, the home manager is fabulous. We are thrilled. Thank you!
My friend has been at The Arkley for a little over 2 years now. I visit each week and each time see how well cared for my friend is. Staff are friendly, the manager is approachable and always helpful. Thank you.
I feel that I can now submit a review of The Arkley, as it was a bit difficult before as we lost Mum in December 2023. Her time at the home, although fairly short, was amazing. She loved it and was so glad that she had finally made the decision to go. She involved herself in the activities every day and made friends with other residents. We wish that she could have been in the home for longer but at least while she was there she was living her best life. We received a lot of support from the staff who went out of their way to say that they loved looking after Mum and would miss her. It means so much to us to know she was so loved.
I find The Arkley Care Home very clean and comfortable the manager and staff are always on hand at all times for any questions. Staff are very caring and understanding they have a lot of patience and take their time to explain things and help to support the residents. The food is excellent and looks very appetising. Staff are on hand to help residents with their food when needed I find the layout in this care home very good and the security is excellent and the bedrooms are very nice with ensuite bathroom facilities. They also have lots of activities to occupy the residents, if they want to participate.
My father was hospitalised to The Arkley in February 2023 as the result of a fall when he fractured his knee. Once we realised that he would not be able to walk again we asked his local council whether he could move here permanently as he is so pleased with the care and attention that he receives. This has just been agreed. The nursing care in particular is exemplary - especially looking after bed sores and blisters on his heels. He recently had a bout of pneumonia and we were so thankful he was in the home with nurses around rather than at home. His room is very pleasant and he really enjoys the food. Our only criticism is that it feels like there aren’t always enough carers around. Sometimes it can take a while to get anyone to respond to calls, eg to be washed or lifted in and out of bed. However, in comparison to being home waiting on carers, this is insignificant. All in all, we are very pleased he ended up at The Arkley and are delighted that he can now stay here permanently.
Always very helpful. Really look after patient, friendly staff who really care. The staff make it easy to take my friend out and always give advice to make it a pleasant experience. The grounds in the care home are really nice for a lovely day to get fresh air. As I said before the staff are for me excellent.
They look after our good friend excellently. He's always clean and tidy and doesn't pong! The staff are friendly and approachable. Our good friend has no complaints at all. If you or your nearest and dearest are approaching crumblydom, I would recommend The Arkley Care Home.
