View Full Details of Mapleford Nursing HomeI am now very happy with the care and well-being of my brother. He has resided there for about two years. The standards of care and cleanliness of the residents and building have vastly improved during this time. The staff are most helpful and caring.
The home has come on leaps and bounds in recent months since new management has taken over. My dad is putting weight on, always looking clean and tidy and alot happier. He is enjoying regular activities that the staff are really putting their time, effort and thought into delivering to the residents. He has built up some really strong relationships with some of the lovely members of staff! Onwards and upwards for Mapleford!
Both my parents moved into Mapleford Nursing Home at the beginnning of the year, and have received wonderful care. My dad passed away in Mapleford after three months and during his short time there he really enjoyed his wee chats with the staff who would pop in regularly. During the last few days of Dad's life we as a family were made very welcome and comfortable and nothing seemed too much trouble for the staff. Dad died peacefully knowing Mum was in good hands. Having spent so much time ourselves in the care home, we can see how comfortable Mum is with the staff and how well she responds to their calm care and endless patience. Mum was in a bad way when she was discharged from hospital to Mapleford, but during her time there she has gained weight, looks much better cared for and her pressure areas have healed. When visiting it is a pleasure to be made so welcome by the staff and they have always been willing to have a chat with us when needed.
My mum has been living in Mapleford since October last year. She was at first troubled and unhappy but thanks to the patience of the staff and the good care she has received she has now settled well and is happy and content. The environment within the home is improving with new furniture, decoration etc. The rooms are also being updated but this could do to be done more quickly. Mum particularly enjoys keeping busy and it would really help if the activities team was increased to allow more of activities which are tailored to the needs of the residents. She particularly enjoys crafts, pet therapy with the lovely Theo (a dog) and occasional visits out. We particularly enjoy the Facebook posts which allow us to see what mum is up to between our visits and it is comforting to know that she is happy when we are not there. When we visit we always receive a warm welcome from the staff - plus coffee and biscuits! At these times Mum is always clean and well dressed and looks well cared for.
This care home has been taken over by new management and it a truly lovely place now. My mother is very happy here and I do not have the worry about her. The food is great and healthy and the activities are fun and stimulating so my mum is very happy.
