View Full Details of Cheney HouseMy mother-in-law has been a resident at Cheney House for 10 months. The staff are amazing. The care given is so specific to my mum's needs. We are always made welcome when visiting. My own mother was in a care home in Banbury, and I can honestly say the overall care at Cheney House is much better.
Cheney House is a small and caring home which provides a safe and loving environment where residents are treated with respect and are cared for as part of a wider family and as an individuals in their own right. We, as a family, have high praise and regard for all the staff at Cheney House, which as a family, over the three and a half years our father was a resident, has consistently improved under the management of the current manager and staff.
My father has been at Cheney House for five years now. They have always provided excellent support and care for my father and have always found the manager and other staff very helpful. They have just had to call the local doctor because of an issue with his health and they have contacted me, several times, as soon as they know anything and therefore keep me very informed. I am very happy with their service and care, and I know my father is being very well looked after.
Today was a very emotional day, it was my first wedding anniversary since my husband went into full-time care. When I arrived I was greeted so warmly and I couldn't believe the effort the staff went to, decorating his room to celebrate our special day. From day one my family and I have been in one of the kindness and help given to my husband and the family. Thank you so much for helping me get through today you are all wonderful.
Cheney House has provided exceptional service to my parents since they moved into the home in December 2023. The staff are the true making of this small residential care establishment. The management is excellent. It is evident that, from the top down, the staff are motivated and happy in their work. They are consistently cheerful, warm, caring, and attentive - and my parents love them! My brothers and I are extremely grateful for the superb care our parents are receiving.
My mother has been at Cheney House for almost two years now. She is happy, settled, and loves it there. She enjoys the activities, and probably most of all the companionship. The management and staff are superb. We are always kept informed of how she is doing and if there are any concerns, and visiting is extremely flexible. All in all, and most importantly, Mum is really happy there.
Very impressed with my friend's progress, so much brighter and talks more than she has in ages, looks so much herself, not so withdrawn. This care home has been good for her and the staff are super, keep up the good work and care for your people here. I'm sure the man upstairs looking down on you would approve as I do.
The care my mum receives is second to none. All of the staff are friendly, and caring and always strive to keep the residents happy and comfortable. I am always kept informed of what is happening with my mum and she is very happy. She is always telling me how lovely everyone is. I couldn't wish for a better setting for her.
My mum has been a resident at Cheney House since June 2023. Her care has been exemplary throughout this period. The team truly care about mums wellbeing. I can speak to any of the team and they tell me how she’s been, what activities she’s done and how she’s eaten. When you don’t live locally, it’s a huge relief knowing she’s really being cared for and looked after every minute of the day. Mum raves about how good the food is which is amazing given how picky she is about food. The team offer a wide range of activities all residents can get involved in if they wish which really stimulates the mind and I love seeing the photo wall of what activities they’ve been up to. The rooms are large and inviting providing a real sense of home from home and you’re encouraged to bring pictures and ornaments. The care home is really clean and well-maintained and the great thing is you can visit at any time of day. We honestly couldn’t have chosen a better place for Mum to stay.
My mother stayed at Cheney House for her last six months. The home manager and the team were fantastic throughout, making her feel really welcome and part of the community there. The team are attentive and practical, bringing an expert approach in a friendly and considerate way. They really make the difference. It was a pleasure to visit, both for the atmosphere and the setting, and all in all provided the ideal move for both my mum and our family.
My sister, who has dementia, is being looked after very well with lots of love and care. I live 100 miles away and cannot visit as often as I would wish but I have peace of mind because of the level of care I witness every time I visit; this extends to the resident's family too. Thank you the manager and all your staff at Cheney House Care Home.
Staff are always very helpful and friendly with myself, as a visitor, and my mother raves at how nice they all are. Appointment times are flexible and Mother is all ready for my visit.
Mum has been at Cheney House Care Home for about three months. Have found everyone to be very supportive and totally transparent in their dealing with everyone. Always made to feel welcome, thank you.
Very pleased indeed. Mum is always well turned out and happy; she particularly enjoys the food - compliments to the chef! We feel that mum is very well cared for and enjoys her time in the home, thank you all for the hard work you do.
Mum is always dressed well and hair done well. Has been in hospital and GP put her on end of life care but staff looked after her really well and she has really improved. Staff always welcome your visits and are easy to talk to. Home always really clean and tidy.
My sister and I feel that during a very difficult year our mother has been well looked after, in fact after a recent illness when the GP put Mum on end of life care the staff have got her back on her feet. Although we have not been allowed the normal access we have always been welcomed by friendly staff. We have also noticed that the home is spotlessly clean when we have been and most importantly Mum seems happy.
Can't rate the care and dedication of all the staff highly enough.
Cheney House may be in need of refurbishment but the care given by the manager and her team is second to none. They care for the physical and mental well-being of each resident with kindness and respect. Visitors are welcomed at all times and feel that you are visiting your loved one in their own home.
I'm very satisfied with the care my stepfather receives. He has settled into a great routine and now eats and sleeps properly. My only concern is the lack of stimulation for the residents which I noticed on my last visit. I am always impressed by the friendliness of the staff when I visit.
My partner has been a resident at the home for the past 15 months. At all times his standard of care and the understanding of the staff has been brilliant. Any concerns that I have had have been addressed immediately and I feel that he is in very safe hands. My only concern is the apparent lack of an activities coordinator some days. When there is not one present I feel that the residents should be doing more than sitting and listening to music - on my last visit there was nothing to keep them stimulated at all. Rather disappointing.
