View Full Details of Comfort HouseAs a paid carer I can be quite critical of other paid carers. On my visits to Comfort House, I was overwhelmed by the caring, go-to attitude of the staff on duty. All went out of their way to ensure our requests were carried out. My only criticism is there were not enough staff were working above and beyond but sadly can't be split in two which is what appears to be expected. Please review staff to Adult ratios.
The staff have been very caring and professional. Comfort House is clean and very well-kept. The activities for the residents are fantastic, there is always something on for them. I would definitely recommend Comfort House above and beyond to look after the residents.
The staff at Comfort House are very friendly and always keep my family and I up to date with my mother's care. There are two members of staff in particular who are always very helpful and know my mother well having worked at Comfort House for some time.
My father stayed here for three weeks whilst I was away on holiday. He was well cared for and very comfortable during his stay and the staff were all friendly and welcoming. His room was well equipped, clean and comfortable and he was well fed. We were both happy with everything provided and he would be happy to stay here again.
My mother has been a resident at Comfort House for approximately 12 months. Our experience has been very good. Most/all residents have cognitive issues and mobility issues, but the staff are very patient and look after them very well. The home is always clean and warm and has a welcoming atmosphere. The staff are friendly, and the home runs many activities for residents.
We've come to visit a relative in Comfort House on several occasions and have always been impressed. The home is genuinely comfortable and feels as much like a personal home as possible. The room is nicely decoration and feels warm and inviting - our relative thinks that they are in a hotel, a very nice hotel - this has made the transition so much easier for them. The thing that stands out about Comfort House though is the staff, they are lovely, they all seem genuinely invested in the residents and are very kind and welcoming to everyone.
Good staff. Lots of interaction between staff and residents. Staff are helpful to visitors also. Residents are encouraged to be out of their rooms during the day which is good.
Sorry, can't comment on management as new. Mam's room could do with updating. Mam is happy and settled here. Thank you.
Kind, friendly staff, always willing to make time to talk to you. My auntie has received excellent care in the short time she has been here and has settled really well.
My husband has received the best of care at Comfort House. He has complex needs and has been treated with kindness and respect. As his needs have changed, the staff have adapted to them. I have also been treated with kindness and respect.
I would like to thank the staff and management at Comfort House, for the well-being of my father who has dementia, he's been getting good quality care from all the staff, he seems to have settled in and made some new friends, and he was very isolated when he was at home, I am not worrying as much now because he's getting the care he so deserves.
Pleasant home, always warm and welcoming when visiting. Carers are pleasant and helpful when asked questions and when providing care. Will always contact the family if any change in the condition of the resident or if any concerns.
My mam has been here for over 2 years, the staff are very caring and she is always dressed nice. The only problem is with her food but hopefully, this will be sorted out.
My Grandad was taken into Comfort House on New Year's Eve. This was one of the hardest things we as a family, have had to do. We were all emotional and upset. We were greeted at the entrance of the home by management staff, and after talking and sorting things out for 5 minutes, we felt at ease. The way they spoke and were talking about what happens, and what they do, was second to none and really professional. They gave us a sense of relief that they would take good care of my grandad and we left as happy as we could, considering the circumstances. I follow the account on Facebook and seeing all the activities and photos makes us all smile. The staff and management go above and beyond. When we FaceTime my grandad, he seems so happy and that he has taken to all the staff really well. I would highly recommend Comfort House to any family that has to make the hard decision and put a elderly relative into care. I can't thank the staff enough for making my grandad's time so enjoyable.
Can I start by saying a great big thank you to the Management and staff of Comfort House, our lives were totally turned upside down and we were left heartbroken by the fact my Father-in-law had to go into emergency care. We packed all his stuff up and made the hardest journey of our lives; myself, husband and 3 grown-up sons took him to the door of comfort house. We really were all in an emotional state we got to the front door and were met by the warmest friendliest welcome from two of the staff who assured us they would take care of my Father-in-law and meet his needs we left that front door laughing, crying and heartbroken but we also felt we had found a new family in such a short time (we are very big on family come first and the main thing in our lives). He has had ups and downs but the home has kept in contact every step of the way, if it had not been for the support of the Management and Staff we would never have got through this we can’t thank them enough, I tell everyone about them.
My mam was a resident for 5 years at Comfort House and had physical disabilities in addition to dementia. I can therefore comment on the care given to her by the manager and her staff over a long period. I can also comment about the level of care and support that she received right up to her death and how her needs changed during the time she lived there. This, at all times, was supportive and caring and she thought of the other residents and the staff as her extended family. The care home has very good links with local organisations. It is important that the residents are part of the local community as many residents have lived in the area before needing 24-hour care. I have recommended Comfort House to other people needing care for loved ones. During the lockdown the residents here have had regular social events to distract them from the fact that they have not been able to see family and friends. The photos must have reassured their families so much.
The staff do everything they can to look after their residents, very caring and always something going on. Due to the pandemic, there was mostly no visiting, but once it was allowed, they went out of their way to arrange their garden for safe visits. I am able to ring up to chat with my mam, and she loves that she can see me on the screen. They have taken her to dental appointments and called in the doctor when needed. I am always given excellent feedback on what is happening with her care. Sadly my dad passed away in November, and the staff told my mam the sad news and have since been caring for her emotional feelings, with great empathy. In December 2O20, I finally got in to see my mam, and it was amazing! They have been so careful about keeping the residents safe from Covid, and all of the staff I have spoken to or met have been very friendly, helpful and caring. My mam is always singing their praises. Well done, Comfort House!
My dad was taken in on New Year’s Eve. I've never been so heartbroken in all my life. The staff that welcomed us at the entrance were unbelievable, they had me convinced within minutes they would take good care of him and us. We are now into the 5th week and I can honestly say from the bottom of my heart I’ve seen an unbelievable change in my dad, he’s back to his old cheeky self when we FaceTime him or vice versa. He has the staff laughing at him and the staff are so genuinely caring towards him. I would personally like to thank the management team and their staff for all their hard work and effort and care they have shown my dad and my family as a whole, thank you very much Comfort House for everything.
Comfort House offers a home from home environment. Staff are very welcoming friendly and always go the extra mile to make sure needs are met. I would definitely recommend Comfort House to friends or family who require respite care or even long term.
My mam has been in Comfort House for over 4 years and during this time there have been some ups and downs but now I feel I must congratulate the staff for their care of my mam. Mam has had a difficult time over the last 12 months and the management arranged for one to one care for her which is great. She seems really happy now and, although I can’t see her as I used to, she is safe in their hands. During this difficult time of COVID 19, the staff have worked to keep things ticking over and had themed parties, etc putting themselves at risk probably. I really can’t imagine how they must have felt at the height of the pandemic, but managed to keep the home COVID free. Mam is 104 this month and even though we won’t be able to celebrate with her I know the staff will make it a special day for her. Keep up the good work.
