View Full Details of Ashurst Park Care HomeI cannot give enough praise and many thanks for the way my mother was cared for by all the staff. Myself and the manager had an excellent rapport when we had our conversations. The senior nurses, especially and all their staff could not have given any more. My mother passed away on 6/1/2025, without their care she would have passed much sooner. A great big thank you to you all.
My partner moved into Ashurst Park in early September 2024, it was a difficult time for me and my partner, for me apprehension about what to expect after her previous care home and for my partner heightened anxiety and fear due to her Alzheimer's and mental health issues. Straight away I noticed a more professional approach to person-centred care and the engaging and friendly nature of all the staff, this continues to this day. What I appreciated most was a willingness to listen to my concerns about decisions for my partner who lacks capacity and awareness of her needs. The manager and the mental health nurse and all the other staff took note of what I had to say to facilitate a better understanding and approach to my partner's care was in stark contrast to my previous experience at the first care home and has resulted over the last three months to a position where my partner is less agitated, anxious and fearful and has happily settled into the home.
I arrived at Ashurst Park on the 27th of December after other homes were not for me. I had been bedridden for a year. With the help, care and kindness of all of the carers, management and the whole of the staff I left today after 9 months fully fit and healthy. I can't thank this place and its wonderful staff enough. The food is great, the entertainment is great and the care is exceptional. I wouldn't have believed there could be so many loving genuine caring people in one building, but there is and I saw it for myself. If you are looking for a home for yourself or a relative look no further you won't beat this place. Without this place and people, I would still be lying there, instead, I am sitting at home watching television with my wife. I would like to thank one person in particular but I can't put his name, but he and the management know who he is. Thanks my man and thanks to everyone at Ashurst Park Care Home.
Wow! Just what an amazing place. The Manager, care staff, and nurses are on another level, unbelievably caring, attentive, and loving. My son was evicted from the last care home because they couldn't cope with his seizures, but not only has the number of seizures dropped drastically since being here, his whole demeanour has changed. He is happy, far more alert, and always beautifully dressed. He thoroughly enjoys all the fresh cooked food and snacks. He also loves being out in the garden. The manager is extremely knowledgeable on so many levels as well as caring and supportive. It was heartbreaking to make the move but now I just wish we'd done it sooner. Thank you.
Exceptional care and caring from all levels of staff. Always greeted by smiling faces. My husband is more settled than ever since he entered the care system at a previous home in May 2023. This is due to the hard work and level of care he now receives since being at Ashurst Park. Thank you all.
Dad has been here for a couple of months now having been evicted from his previous care home in as they could not cope with his advanced dementia and behaviour despite advertising as such a home. After a meeting with the Manager at Ashurst Park, both my Mum and I were reassured that Ashurst Park was the right place for Dad to be re-homed. Since he came here under less than ideal circumstances as previously mentioned, Dad has dramatically changed for the better. The care is outstanding as are all of the staff. He is cleaner, better behaved and is thriving. The staff actually can manage complex dementia needs. The home does not just advertise its dementia services. It delivers. It is such a weight of Mum's and all of the family's minds that Dad is receiving the excellent care and support that he is currently getting. I cannot praise everyone concerned with Dad's care highly enough. Thank you all.
Mum came to Ashurst Park for respite care in April 2024 when her mobility suddenly deteriorated and we were struggling to look after her. The manager and her wonderful team were there for us and have provided Mum with the additional care and support that she needs. Mum has now made the transition to becoming a full-time resident and every time we visit she is content, comfortable and well cared for with her nails painted! The staff are extremely friendly and every time we visit the residents are together taking part in the daily activities which is lovely to see. When we visited Mum last week we were lucky enough to hear the guitarist performing some great renditions of one of Mum's favourite bands. He was brilliant! Mum is also enjoying the food. We are so fortunate to have found this fabulous care home for Mum and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Every time I visit, Mum always seems happy and is full of stories of what has happened since I last visited. Staff are always polite, helpful and friendly and Mum likes one staff member in particular. I feel at ease when I am not with her knowing her care needs are being met and she is safe! Thank you.
Mum has been resident since October 2022 and has been very happy and well cared for. The manager is a strong leader with high standards and she ensures the very best conditions and care for her residents. The manager and her team have responded sensitively to the changes in Mum's needs, the staff are so gentle and kind with her. The home is clean and bright and the food certainly looks and smells good. When she was able, Mum often said how lovely and comfortable she feels there, so I would have no hesitation in recommending Ashurst Park.
I have been very pleased with the care given to my friend since she has been at Ashurst Park. The atmosphere has always been like a busy "home". I'm happy to see so many residents up and dressed. Particularly impressed with the activity sessions. There are many staff members, so care is always available. All the staff are friendly and kind. The rooms are clean and bright. The only downside was the "smell" upstairs, which was disappointing.
Very welcoming staff, my friend is settled, safe and most importantly, happy. The home is very clean and professional while having a homely atmosphere.
My mum lived at Ashurst Park from August 2019 up until she passed away in May 2023. Ashurst has a lovely homely atmosphere with a spacious living room and dining areas and a friendly welcoming nature. The reason for my mum's care is that she had a stroke which left her completely paralysed down her left side. She also suffered a lot of pain from the stroke, but the staff always tried to be extra gentle with her and sensitive to her needs. She was mainly bed bound, but the staff still made sure she had regular visits to her room and they would chat to her and keep her company. I was always made to feel very welcome during my regular visits too. No home is perfect, so issues did occasionally crop up, but I would not mark the home down for this because the management team always responded to any issues and concerns very quickly and efficiently. Special mention must go to my mother's nurses, who were great to her the whole time she was there, she loved both of them.
I am living at Ashurst Park since February 2022. I rate the staff and the manager 99.9% with outstanding care and treatment. The remaining 0.1% is dealt with immediate acting by the manager as she thrives for 100% and nothing less to keep families and residents happy and informed. Even though I have complex health issues causing difficulties staff are compassionate to deal with the situation. I really enjoy my stay at Ashurst Park.
I always try to be honest about what I see. You cannot put a price on your family's health and care. I wrote a review last year, praising the young ladies who get proactive, and take time to get residents involved in activities. I went to visit my mother, for the first time on a Saturday, there were none of the regular staff present, a group of 4, or 5 were all together in what I believe was the kitchen. My mother told me that she had wet herself in the morning, as it had taken 25 minutes for staff to take her to the toilet. These people were mostly out of sight, it took nearly 15 minutes for someone to come and take my mother to the toilet, whilst I was there. It was a disappointment to learn that the one activities young lady, had now been deployed to do cleaning, rather than activities. My mother has become unhappy over the last few months, the home no longer has the staff to care for her, so it is time to move her elsewhere.
My partner moved to Ashurst Park just before Christmas 2022. He had been in a residential care home for the previous eighteen months. In the care home, he was bedridden with an array of problems, but since moving to Ashurst Park, his whole character has improved immensely. Even though his dementia, is slowly increasing, his physical being has much improved. He is still unable to walk, but with the wonderful help of all of the staff and management, he is much happier and fulfilled with his day-to-day routine. I cannot thank all that assist him, enough for their input. At last, I can relax in the knowledge, that he is being so well looked after.
Mum was placed here temporarily as she was no longer able to remain in her own home due to a deterioration in her health and mobility issues. She has since chosen to make this permanent. The care she has received has been superb, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. Mum is a completely different person now. She's happy, chatty, smiley and looks so well and looked after.
My sister has been cared for at Ashurst Park for the last few months, since undergoing surgery for a bleed on the brain. We are so grateful for the care they have taken, and they have been very supportive to the family while she is recovering from this operation and other problems. I would like to thank all the staff there for their continued support during difficult times for us all.
The manager has shown exemplary care and consideration for my sister, who has been placed temporarily at Ashurst. We, as a family, are most grateful, and it is our collective hope that our sister's wish to remain there is facilitated.
My mother became a resident in July 2020 a difficult time for everyone. The manager and her team were caring right from the start, mum was treated with respect and dignity by all the staff. When mum passed away everyone was so kind and said such lovely things about her even though I know she could be tricky at times. Thank you all.
My parents are both residents at Ashurst Park. The reason I selected Ashurst Park is that it has a reassuring feeling of professionalism combined with a caring family. I feel confident in how well they care for them. Both are healthy and content, enjoying interactions with other residents and the staff. Behind all of it the manageress drives the culture, she is passionate that the care should be what any of us would want to receive. I am happy with my choice and so are my parents.
