View Full Details of Saltwood Care CentreNobody warns you and nothing prepares you for the time you have to look after your elderly parents and we never realised how emotionally and mentally exhausting it would be, but thankfully we had Saltwood Care Centre and it's staff to support us, and care for them. They looked after my Father and Mother over the last two years. They have both now passed and as upsetting as it is losing them, it is nice to know that they spent their remaining time in a caring and comfortable environment. We can never thank the staff at Saltwood Care Centre enough. There's to many to mention but special thanks to the Management team, who's support and professionalism throughout the time our parents were with them, we will never forget and be forever grateful.
My husband has been in this care home for almost 2 years. He has always been very well looked after. The staff go above and beyond for the residents. The support for relatives is also excellent.
Today 20/01/2025 there was a general meeting it was great. So much thought for the residents social aspect discussed, thank you. My husband has been cared for so well that he is at an healthier place than I've seen him for over 2 years. I must thank everyone so for always making me feel part of Saltwood Care Centre too. Hoping I don't get in the way too much. Coming through the door to lovely smiling staff on the weekends. Thank you.
The care and support given to my Aunt is exemplary. The team are vigilant with her health issues to ensure she is comfortable and can live her best life. The managers and staff could not do more for her, they definitely treat her as one of their own family. I am always made feel welcome and supported when visiting and confident that I can raise any queries anytime. Most important to me is that my Aunt is happy, she enjoys living at Saltwood Care Centre and feels safe and loved.
I really like being here. The room is really nice for me to live in. The food is lovely, very varied and the staff are brilliant.
Saltwood Care Centre has some peculiarities with water bugs! In the water supply, in the bedding that we sleep in. In the laundry that is returned washed and ironed, clean and ready to wear. Need to sort out the bugs.
I have lived here since I came out of the hospital. Rooms have a nice view of the gardens. The meals are very good and plentiful. The home staff and management are providing a pretty for me and 18 of my relatives for my 80th birthday on 26/10/2024.
I came to Sandringham Ward (naked). You gave me food and drink (coffee) and you clothed me.
There have been occasional lapses in care. When I came I found that he had previously opened his bowels but his bottom had not been cleaned. He has complained to me that one or two carers have not treated him with respect and have been rude. Whether this is because they find it difficult to understand his speech and become impatient I don't know but generally the carers are kind, helpful, patient and understanding.
My Mum was originally booked in for Respite Care, as although nearly 102 and been totally independent all her life, she had suddenly lost her strength and needed care. I had a holiday booked with my grandchildren, so we agreed she would have her own holiday in Saltwood Care Centre. The Admin Team could not have been more helpful in coming to assess her needs and booking her in. It became clear that this was not going to be respite so she moved in 4 days earlier and received exceptionally good care. I was able to go away for 4 days, safe in the knowledge that she could not have been in better hands. Sadly on my second night, she passed away peacefully. I was kept informed of her sudden decline and then of her passing. Again, everything was seamless which helped me incredibly at a difficult time. I cannot praise Saltwood more and highly recommend their facilities and teams.
Staff are very helpful and friendly. Good knowledge and understanding of patients' needs. Excellent activities throughout the day.
My husband found staff pleasant and helpful. For him, the accommodation was adequate for his needs. My daughter, son and I also found staff kind when we visited. The only thing to criticise was the dirty-looking carpet.
Both of our parents received great care at Saltwood. The staff are all excellent.
Both my mother and my father spent their final years at Saltwood and I could not be more happy with the care they received both nursing and housekeeping. The staff are consistently friendly and helpful - they genuinely seem to like what they're doing and the people they're caring for. My mother was showing signs of dementia when she entered Saltwood. As her condition deteriorated, and she was eventually confined to bed, the Saltwood staff continued to take the greatest care of her, making sure she was as comfortable as her circumstances would allow. My father survived her by another two years, although with increasingly failing health. Again, the Saltwood staff took great care of him. They did what they could to help him maintain his mobility. When he was no longer able to move, they made sure he stayed clean and comfortable. On the very few occasions when we did need something done, we only had to ask and the management team took care of it.
I had my first break and I really enjoyed it. I didn't think I would like it here but I really enjoy being here.
My Uncle greatly enjoyed his staff of almost just over 2 years at Saltwood Care Centre. Ownership during this period has changed, improvements have been made and are underway in marked down. The staff have been wonderfully kind to us and my Uncle and we are very grateful to them. We have experienced other homes and consider Saltwood to be head and shoulders above the rest.
My brother has been in this home for a year having suffered a serious stroke nineteen years ago. He is not able to converse easily but the staff give him time to try and in fact, with their help, he is now able to say more words. Staff are friendly and caring, laugh and joke with him, this helps tremendously. They are encouraged to take part in activities which helps them to keep their brains going, this is important. I have no hesitation in recommending Saltwood Care Centre. Well done to them all.
My mum has been in Saltwood since August 2023. I cannot rate this care home enough. It's been the hardest time of my life putting Mum into a care home but there people are just absolutely amazing from the management, the carers/nurses, activities ladies, the cleaners, the cooks, also the receptionists always greet us with a smile. Mum looks so much healthier since being here and has a great relationship with all the staff. It's so laid back and you really feel welcome visiting. Thank you Saltwood for everything.
From cleaners to management you cannot ask for a more dedicated group of people. Mum was at the home for two and a half years and was looked after very well. The carers and nurses work so hard, but always had time for Mum (even when she was being nasty). Just wish she could have joined in with the activities which are run so well.
Saltwood Care Centre is a beautiful building, run by friendly, helpful and professional staff who care genuinely for their residents. My mum enjoys every aspect of her stay, from the homely environment and tasty food to the amusing and stimulating entertainment and activities. And so do we, her family, come eagerly to visit and are always welcome with a smile. Thank you all for the outstanding care.
