View Full Details of Offington Park Rest HomeMy father was looked after at Offington Park Rest Home for nearly a year, sadly dad passed away in December. As a family we cannot express how well looked after he was there, especially the last few weeks. All the staff were so caring and they all felt like family to us which was so important to us as a family, nothing was ever to much trouble always making sure we were OK normally with tea and cake which was always appreciated thank you to all the staff for your hard work.
Dad joined Offington Park just before the first lockdown, from hospital. It was imperative a home was found quickly and we had the very good fortune to find Offington. Dad's care at Offington was exemplary and we know he was very happy there as he was always telling us! He had a lovely rapport with the staff who showed care and compassion towards him. Indeed this care, compassion and love was shown to both us and Dad on his passing. We can't thank every one of the staff enough!
My mum needed to be transferred from having a live in carer at home to becoming a resident in a care home. Although my mum has only been in Offington Park Rest Home for a few days we found the whole process seamless. The care home manager and their team have been brilliant. The prepared my mum's room in a lovely way and it looks so 'homely'. All the carers seem lovely and very engaging with Mum. Although it is still early days we couldn't be happier for Mum and the care she's getting at Offington Park.
My nan has been a resident at Offington for over four years now and she was always reluctant to go into a care home but being at Offington she has been very happy, enjoys the food and has a great rapport with all the staff. Nan always speaks highly of the home and as a family, we couldn't ask for a better place for my Nan.
My dad has Alzheimer’s and sadly was no longer able to live safely at home alone, therefore, last September, we took the difficult decision to place him in a care home. We were able to visit Offington Park Rest Home beforehand, both just my husband and I and then with Dad too. Whilst he wasn’t really sure about staying there (and still doesn’t recognise it as ‘home’, but didn’t recognise his bungalow of the last 36 years as home either), he is safe, and the staff have been nothing but kind and caring to Dad, and always helpful and kind to myself and my family when visiting, and keeping us informed of anything we need to know.
I would thoroughly recommend Offington Park Rest Home. The staff are very considerate and take time to pay attention to detail. I am always made very welcome whenever I visit. Knowing that my husband is so well looked after gives me great peace of mind. The home meets all resident's needs and even makes the family dog welcome. The entertainment involves all the residents and is second to none.
We can’t thank the care team enough for the care they gave to our mum, who had Alzheimer’s. From the very beginning to the very sad few days and hours of our beloved mum. The communication was excellent between us, and we were always made to feel very welcome. We stayed a couple of nights towards the precious hours and were supplied with welcome cups of tea and biscuits. Every step along the way was kindly considered for our Mum to make her comfortable, and we knew that Mum was in good hands at all times when we couldn’t be there. We will be forever thankful for the whole team’s commitment. Much love and forever thanks to the whole team.
The staff pulled all the stops out for Aunty's special birthday this last weekend - nothing was too much trouble. She enjoys sitting in the garden in the summer but, mostly, seems to prefer her own room as her sight and mobility are failing now.
All the staff at Offington Park are very friendly and caring. I know that mum is happy there. Mum has been there for a couple of years and has been cared for well. It is a big comfort to know that we can be confident in her care.
My mum is really happy since moving into Offington Park, she is very well looked after and settled in really quickly. The staff are really friendly and welcoming, and nothing is too much trouble. Thank you.
Mum has been at Offington Park for four and a half years and I have never been less than 100% satisfied with how she has been cared for throughout that time. Despite her slight confusion (she will be 94 this year) she always appears happy when we visit; well fed and entertained, and of course, her personal care is superb. When she has had medical issues we have always been quickly informed, and the matter resolved with the GP and/or paramedics. The staff are so friendly, not only to mum but also to us when we visit, and our grandchildren (Mum's great-grandchildren) when we take them in to see her. Hopefully, she will be with us for a number of years, and I am hopeful and happy that she will spend as much of that time as possible at Offington Park.
Offington Park is a lovely care home with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. All the staff seem to really enjoy working there and are wonderful and caring and go the extra mile to make residents feel special and at home; personalising their care to suit the individual. It’s efficiently run and nothing is too much trouble. The food is great and the rooms are bright and airy. It’s also nice to have the option of sitting in the conservatory and the lovely gardens when visiting. My mum has advanced Alzheimer’s and had never been away from my Dad, so we were worried about how she’d take to living somewhere without him. When we dropped her off on her first day, back in November, she felt so at home by the time we left, that she was dancing down the hallway with one of the carers; so I think that said it all and we left feeling very relieved and couldn’t be more grateful to know that she is being well looked after. I highly recommend this lovely home.
My Mother moved into Offington Park late last year. I cannot believe how happy she is now. The staff are fantastic and supportive. She rings me every day and always comments about how wonderful the food is. My family and I are delighted to have found such a wonderful place for my Mum to live.
The care given by all the staff is excellent which is so important. The home is inviting and nicely decorated giving a lovely warm atmosphere with lots of activities making the environment as near to home from home as you can get. The food is also excellent and well balanced. The staff go out of their way to make the residents feel happy and settled and I am so thankful to have found Offington Park Care Home.
My mum was in need of respite after an operation on her legs. After initially booking 2 weeks she was able to increase her time to one month. I found the staff to be extremely helpful and caring especially the first day when I was rather panicked after what initially was meant to be an op on one leg turned into both legs. My mother was unable to walk but the staff made the whole experience so calm and easy and were organised for our arrival with a wheelchair and help to get her from the car into the home with tea and biscuits at the ready. The manager sorted out the community nurse to visit, it couldn’t have been made easier at a stressful and worrying time. My mum loved her room, the food and care that she received all making it possible for her to recover quickly and return home able to cope.
This was my first experience in a care home and the management and hardworking staff did everything possible to hasten my recovery from operations on my legs. I was very impressed with the way the staff integrated with the residents and encouraged everyone to join in the activities. The choice of food was good and excellent home cooking - what more could I as for?
A group of us wanted to visit our friend for a charity meeting. The staff were very helpful, not only reserving the conservatory for us (evening use) but also giving us refreshments and cakes. Many thanks. I can only comment on the aspects I saw that evening.
Very welcoming friendly and happy environment. All the staff are wonderful and extremely helpful. Would never contemplate my mum being anywhere else. This care home and the staff an the way it is managed and run is brilliant.
Excellent run care home with all staff including domestic, cook, carers and management always working with a smile on their face polite and nothing too much trouble. All approachable and any concerns are dealt with immediately and followed if necessary. The staff are friendly caring and respectful to their residents. My mother always tells me that I could not have chosen a nicer home, she says the staff are always cheerful, friendly and caring there is lots of laughter and kindness.
I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Offington Park. My grandmother was treated extremely well - she was treated with respect and a huge level of kindness. She was encouraged to participate in the activities of the house, but this was done with compassion and thoughtfulness. Her stay there was wonderful from start to finish - the place is excellently maintained and clean, and the residents are looked after like family. She thought she was at home - and it felt like it too. It is never easy to lose a loved one, but Offington Park is a credit to the care profession.
