View Full Details of Moyness Care HomeFollowing a lengthy hospital admission my mother was assessed for 24/7 care. On visiting the care home (Moyness). We both felt very welcome and immediately felt the home had a "lovely feel". My mother was transferred shortly later - since her move to Moyness she has settled in so well, her room is very homely with all her own belongings / bedding. All the staff have been very caring and attentive - a credit to
My brother resided at Moyness in August this year. We was only there for a month before he passed away. All the staff at Moyness were so friendly and compassionate. My brother had learning difficulties and we were concerned about how he would settle in his new surroundings but he settled really well and engaged with the staff. Unfortunately because of his learning difficulties, he was not able to participate in any of the wonderful activities that the home puts on. They have a lovely garden area where residents can sit out as well. We could not have picked a better home for my brother. We are so pleased and thankful to all the staff at Moyness for the care and attention they gave my brother over the short period he was there for.
An excellent care home providing a high standard of care. Residents are treated with dignity and respect, cleanliness is excellent and the staff and management team are very welcoming. Nana is very happy there which is good to see.
Balhousie Moyness, is a wonderful care home. The staff are superb and do their very best to care for my dad who has dementia. There are always activities and events for him to attend and this is part of everyday life, not just the odd occasion. The catering and menus are of an extremely high standard. My dad's room is always clean and tidy to a very high standard. Five stars all round.
We have been very impressed with the care our dad has received since being at Moyness. The staff have taken time with him to help him settle in and always keeping us informed of his progress. We have seen a vast improvement in his health and general wellbeing. It is a joy to visit Dad and hear about all the activities and "his gossip" that he enjoys.
The care home had a relatives meeting. Plenty of information going to give residents outings and do many things in the months to come. The entertainment coordinator is excellent and prepares many activities for the residents. My wife is very happy and contented.
My mother has been a resident in Balhousie Moyness Care Home for almost two years. In that time I feel she has been very well looked after. The staff are always on hand to help. My sister and myself are always kept well informed and have never had cause to work. I feel she is being extremely well cared for. The property is light and airy and very well maintained. I am very happy with the standard of care my mother is receiving.
The staff are very helpful. Always smiling and help you with everything you ask.
Putting my dear wife into Moyness was the hardest decision I have ever had to make but the management team and staff made this slightly easier by their caring attitude, showing both myself and family compassion. They were and have been highly professional at all times. The standards are set high and my wife has settled in very well and the staff care for my wife's wellbeing and health to a high standard.
Balhousie Moyness is an excellent home, run by an excellent management team and staff, which includes carers, housekeeping, cleaners and the catering department. The staff are very professional, caring and extremely hard working. They cared for my mother to a very high standard, and they genuinely care for the residents and our family. Throughout Covid, as a family, we found it very difficult, but the staff cared for my mother as if she was their own family.
My mother is well cared for, and the staff are very professional in their jobs.
Care staff are excellent in Moyness, deliver a family feel and understand my mother in law's needs. Sadly the way visiting is managed overall by Balhousie is not great at the present time. Thank you to Moyness staff.
As a family, we were very pleased with the care and attention given to my mother from Feb 2018 - April 2019. We found the staff to be very attentive to the residents. Moyness has a family atmosphere which is a credit to management and staff. I have and would recommend Moyness to others.
My husband suffered a stroke in January 2015. He spent a year in hospital and was transferred to Balhousie Moyness Care Home December 2015 and after 2 years of being nursed and cared for, he was able to return to the family home at the beginning of December 2017. The staff are excellent and there is a relaxed, friendly but efficient attitude in the home. While my husband was resident there, works were carried out to update the decoration and this was carried out so there was minimum disruption to the residents. The former mansion house has a wheelchair accessible garden with large trees which is lovely to see and sit in in good weather. We are grateful for all the help and support we received from the staff at Balhousie Moyness and have recently recommend this home to a friend for his elderly father.
The main thing is that mum is safe and well looked after by the staff. Moyness is well-managed and the staff make every effort to meet the often complex care needs of the residents.
My mother has been in this care home since March 2017. Staff are cheery and friendly and most importantly, you can see that the residents are their top priority. They have given me lots of support throughout this whole experience of which I am very grateful.
Our dad has been in Balhousie Moyness since June 2017. We cannot fault the care and attention he has been given since then. The managers, nursing staff and care staff, and catering staff are all fantastic.
My mother was very happy at Moyness. Throughout her stay there she was treated with kindness and dignity. Everyone in the home knew her and always addressed her using her name. Mum would take part in most of the activities arranged. There was a varied programme which catered for most people. There was also regular parties, birthdays, Easter, Christmas. There were also outings eg. to the local cinema. I was able to take my mother shopping. She enjoyed getting out. She liked getting out even when she was at home. Moyness has a lovely garden which residents were encouraged to use. I was always kept informed about everything concerning my mother. There were also regular meetings with the management team where families of residents were kept up to date with what was happening at Moyness. All visitors were made very welcome, including her great-grandson who loved playing in the garden when he came to visit. For mum Moyness was a happy and safe place.
Mother-in-law has been a resident for 18 months now. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday in the home. Throughout her stay, she and her family have been impressed with the overall care, physical, mental and social, that seems to come naturally to the staff. This in itself indicates good leadership from the top. Apart from regular meetings for relatives with management, any intervening questions are always listened to attentively and acted on if appropriate. The atmosphere in the home is not one of an institution but geared as much as possible to a family and homely ambience. The recent redecoration has added to this. Entertainment is provided on a regular basis and resident's celebratory events are always given special attention. Resident's culinary foibles are dealt with sympathetically and alternatives are usually made available. The family are glad that she chose Balhousie Moyness Care Home to be cared for.
My mother used this care home in 2017. We were very impressed with everything from the cleaners to the management and everybody in between. The care and attention given to residents is unequalled in any home I've been in and I've worked in a fair few over the years. It is homely, spotlessly clean, with excellent nutritious food, a good activity programme and beautiful gardens. The care is professional with attention to detail giving great respect to both resident plus family members and with plenty of humour thrown in for good measure. I could not recommend it highly enough. I have experienced 6 nursing homes in Dundee for different family members over many years. This was the best by a long shot.
