View Full Details of Oakcroft House Care HomeI'm very well cared for and looked after at Oakcroft.
I have been very happy during my time here. The staff have always been kind and helpful. My room is comfortable and is kept clean. My personal care is seen to everyday and I have choices each day for my meals.
Staff are really lovely, kind and trying to help all the time. Only problem sometimes is he is late getting up.
Mum seems happy. She particularly enjoys all the activities. Bingo & choir are her favourites. She's really looking forward to getting out into the garden when the weather improves as she loves gardening. Another firm favourite is the times she gets to cuddle and pet the animals that come in on a regular basis - especially the rabbits, kittens & puppies. She always enjoys mealtimes with her friends in the dining room.
The care my mother received while in the home was excellent. Although she was unable to enjoy all the activities, it was clear that the resident's care and entertainment were very good. It was very clear that all the staff and management made my mother stay as comfortable as possible. I could not have asked for better.
Our mother has been in Oakcroft for a year. The staff are terrific, thoughtful, friendly, and attentive. The activity schedule, food and facilities are all impressive. Our mother has had some incidents of paranoia when she can be abusive and attempt to attack staff. They have been gentle and professional with her, documenting incidents and seeking GP help.
I was kept informed about any changing conditions of my husband. They noted changes that had to be made. Checked in on him, monitored him and noted his condition had changed, and called an ambulance. I was comforted that their prompt action gave my husband the best chance of survival. Sadly his illness had won.
Since my great uncle has moved into this care home I felt reassured knowing he is in good hands. The staff were always kind and patient with him even when his health declined. They kept me updated on his condition and any changes, which meant a lot. I was supervised with a variety of activities and programs although my uncle did take advantage of them. It was clean and they put a lot of effort into keeping residents engaged and happy. The home was clean and tidy.
My dad went into Oakcroft House in June 2024. As a family, we were apprehensive about sending him to a nursing home but he needed more care and was palliative. The welcome we were given from all the staff was amazing and they all put us at ease, nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The staff took their time to get to know both Dad and Mum, the care was very person-centred. The food was restaurant quality and even thou he didn't eat much he enjoyed what he had. Dad peacefully passed away this week the staff were so respectful and supportive. He was there less than 3 weeks but what a lovely end-of-life experience Oakcroft House made it for him and us.
Stayed at Oakcroft for post-operative care and it was a much better experience than trying to cope at home, even with help. Professional caring staff, lovely meals, nothing too much trouble for them and cups of tea on tap.
It was one of the most difficult things we had to do to put my father-in-law into care. I am delighted to say that the quality of care exceeded our expectations and the attentiveness of all the staff has been exceptional. There is a lovely atmosphere at Oakcroft. The activities provided are so good and varied - something for everybody. Sadly he passed away last week but we have nothing but praise for the way in which his passing was handled by all the staff and their sympathetic interaction with the family. We will be eternally grateful.
Mum is very settled and happy at Oakcroft. She receives excellent care, support and encouragement from the whole team who are kind, friendly, dedicated, and professional and have an instinctive understanding of their residents' needs and wishes. Mum thoroughly enjoys the social lunches - the menu choices are really good and the many varied entertainment events she now attends as part of the Oakcroft community. My heartfelt thanks.
My dad lived at Oakcroft from September 2022 until he died in January 2024. He was only expected to live a few weeks when he arrived but it was a testament to the excellent care provided that he celebrated his 90th birthday. All the staff provided amazing care and the kindness shown to both him and us as his family was incredible. This was especially evident in the last few days of his life. I will never forget how well all the staff looked after dad, thank you so much.
The team have provided the most dignified support to Mum during her residency at Oakcroft House. Their service has been nothing less than exemplary along with the most wonderful love, support and compassion to all the residents. I can't speak highly enough.
Such a welcoming home. All staff were so friendly and helpful, and the premises were very well maintained. The gardens and conservatory were delightful. We were offered free coffee, and the food menu looked excellent.
Overall, our experience has been up and down, but good now. We have ironed out any problems by talking to staff involved with Mothers' care. Cannot judge the manager as he is in his office or left when I go to see Mum. I understand most of the staff like him, so happy with that. The care staff are good to Mum, you always get the ones that are not so nice, but we deal with that if it happens. The staff are run off their feet most of the time and cannot speak much. But they work very hard, and staff you want to keep.
Fantastic service! Covid is a test of everything, and we passed with flying colours. Staff are dedicated, kind and courteous. I have the utmost respect for the work that they do. There are always activities, and have managed to get to know some of Mum's friends. Thank you for making my mum's days pleasurable.
Good (particularly two or three carers, plus reception staff). Need an ensuite shower.
I recently visited Oakcroft Care Home a few weeks ago to see my friend, who is a resident there. The home had a lovely, warm ambience, and there were lots of activities that the residents were enjoying. From the moment I arrived, the staff were so kind and helpful and very attentive to my friend and me during my visit. My friend's room was lovely, and I can see why she is so happy there.
A pleasant experience, warm and cosy. The lunch smelled wonderful.
