View Full Details of Glen Arun Nursing HomeFrom the moment my mum arrived at Glen Arun Nursing Home, I felt a sense of relief and calm. We were all welcomed so warmly and each and every member of staff who we came into contact with gave us the feeling that my mum would be not only well looked after but genuinely cared for. She was only, sadly at Glen Arun for a few days of end-of-life care before she passed away. During those few days though she was kept so comfortable, warm and safe and that meant so much to me after all the confusion and anonymity of the hospital environment. Thank you to Glen Arun for making my mum's last days so peaceful.
From the move from hospital to being in the care home my dad has been consistently cared for in the best way possible. The house, manager, care staff and all employees are wonderful, caring and kind. The house is spotlessly clean and my dad always looks very well. I cannot fault anything. Senior nurses are always available to talk over any medical concerns I may have.
The staff at Glen Arun were amazing so friendly and my father was very happy and well looked after the nursing home is undergoing a great deal of work but has been very well kept. I could not have wished for more.
I am delighted with the care my friend is receiving, and every time I visit, the staff are very welcoming and helpful. They always find the time to update me on matters, and the management team are very personable. The move to this home has stabilised my friend's health, and he is encouraged to keep his mind active. I am confident that my friend is in a safe and homely environment.
I visited my friend on 21st June, he had been transferred from East Surrey hospital to have palliative care at the home. I couldn't have been more impressed with the comfortable room that he had been given, or the caring, cheerful staff attending to him. A difficult time, but I'm confident that Alan couldn't be in a better place.
I cannot thank you enough for the excellent care you gave my husband, nothing was too much trouble. His privacy was respected. The kind staff were always positive, caring and encouraging. They were also chatty and fun when needed to be. The food was good with excellent choices and the chef was always happy to make spicy side dishes as requested. My husband enjoyed hearing about the staff's interests and families. I appreciated all the information given to both myself and my sons regarding my husband's care.
Throughout my father's time at Glen Arun Nursing Home, the management and all of the staff have looked after him so well. We cannot praise the management and staff enough.
My mother has been at Glen Arun Nursing Home for over a year now. The care she has received has been wonderful from all the staff; the care staff and support staff. Thank you!
Glen Arun Nursing Home is very caring. All the staff are exceptional in every way. Always time to care and chat with us as a friend of a resident. Always offers a cup of tea or coffee and a biscuit and make sure we have chairs to sit on. The home manager is one in a million - caring and always ready to see us and chat about our friend and is in constant touch with emails if we have any questions.
After a challenging start because of her dementia, the staff helped my mother settle in. They also tried to involve her in the various activities available but she chose not to. I was very satisfied with the way my mother was looked after during her year-long stay at Glen Arun Nursing Home. I found the staff to be attentive and caring and I was kept informed and made welcome on my visits. Throughout her stay, she was treated well which I found reassuring, especially in her final weeks. Thanks to all of the staff.
Mum loved it at Glen Arun. It's the people/staff that make the home what it is. They were so helpful and caring, nothing was too much trouble. Thank you all.
My mother came to Glen Arun Nursing Home for end-of-life care after six months in hospital. Glen Arun was amazing - spotlessly clean, brilliant carers and nothing was too much trouble. I would thoroughly recommend this home!
When the time comes to place a much loved person into a home it is a very hard and sad decision, unfortunately this time came with my Mum who broke her hip and was in the latter stages of Alzheimer's. The moment I met the manager and discussed my concerns and needs my worries were put to ease. I was anxious that she would be just left in her room like a previous home but this was never the case and they gaged it perfectly her requirements; hence why she looked so much happier. I have only high praise for everyone that works there, the fabulous manager, nurses, carers, chef, caterers and also the lovely laundry lady. Mum always looked immaculate which meant a lot to me as before Alzheimer's took a hold this was very important to her. I cannot think of any negatives - yes maybe the rooms look a little dated, however, they are spotlessly clean and there is nothing stopping you making it feel more homely. So not really a negative, just an observation. Thank you so very much.
My mum has been in Glen Arun since February 2022. We were very worried about her when she first came here but she has shown much improvement generally. The team are wonderful - they look after Mum very well and take the time to have a laugh and a joke with her which raises her spirits, as well as giving her excellent care and nursing. Decisions about Mum's care are discussed fully and we are always involved. They have also supported us as a family, taking the time to listen and showing empathy. The manager is excellent at liaising by phone, email and in-person, giving updates and information. I am so grateful that Mum is in Glen Arun, I would fully recommend it to anyone.
This is my mother's second year at Glen Arun Nursing Home. She is 97 and following a broken hip and a bout of Covid, she is now at Glen Arun and doubly incontinent and quite severely cognitively impaired. She needs constant help, even to eat and drink. The staff at Glen Arun are wonderful; very attentive, kind and patient; and very skilled at raising her spirits and making her laugh. She is never left alone in her room for long and her wishes and her dignity are always respected. As a family, it gives us great peace of mind to know that my mother is so well cared for.
My mother has been a resident at Glen Arun for many years and throughout her time there the care she has received has been extremely good. The staff are very caring and considerate and have often gone the extra mile to look after Mum. I have always been made welcome at the home whenever I visit although obviously there have been restrictions due to Covid. I considered myself lucky that Mum was at Glen Arun during the period when we were unable to visit as I felt reassured and confident that Mum would be looked after well even under difficult circumstances. The home is good at contacting and liaising with me if there are any problems or concerns with Mum. I cannot comment on the current activity programme but in the past, prior to Covid, it has been excellent. Mum’s room and en-suite facilities are always clean whenever I visit. I feel that Glen Arun is a warm, caring and welcoming home for Mum and I am pleased that I chose the home for her.
I always find the staff very friendly and helpful and they are lovely with my mum and nothing is too much trouble.
Very pleased and relieved to report that my sister has settled well and happily at Glen Arun and her general health and appearance have much improved. Her care seems to be excellent and the staff take a lot of trouble to be friendly and talk to her all the time. What we can see looks very clean and she loves the meals. Because of Covid restriction we have only seen the conservatory and bedroom. The staff we have encountered are very pleasant and helpful.
The staff were very welcoming and took the time to get to know my brother. The nursing team were extremely competent with his medical needs. The management wasn't above and beyond. Very caring and efficient with my brother's care and discharge home. I am so grateful for the support they also gave me.
Due to Covid restriction, I am unable to comment on some facilities. I am very pleased with Glen Arun Horsham. The staff are very pleasant and helpful with my sister-in-law who is very happy there. The food is varied and she loves it. The room is always clean and tidy as seen on rare visits. We have only been in the conservatory for our visits.
