View Full Details of Waterloo HouseMy dad moved into Waterloo Care Home in January 2025. The staff treat my dad as part of their family, the kindness and respect he is shown is just so lovely. The food is fab and as my dad's weight had been worrying he's putting weight on weekly. His mental health is improving and he is settling into his new home so well. I am so pleased my dad is a resident there, I feel like his daughter again not his carer. Outstanding care and I would highly recommend this home.
My Mam was discharged from hospital to Waterloo House in May this year, I had met the manager on a ward just days earlier and was immediately impressed. The choice was Mams, as she had a dog and wanted to go into a home where pets were allowed. Sadly the dog wouldn't settle, but Mam did, and she loved the environs, the camaraderie, genuine carers, the food, activities, trips, she actually got a 'new-lease-of-life.' Sadly she became increasingly confused and progressively unwell, and her needs were fully met by the staff/home/District Nurses, I cannot fault the care, respect, and affection she was shown during the past few months. Mam had a stroke and the home were quick to react, and she responded well to treatment, and we were planning her return home to Waterloo House when she deteriorated and sadly died last month. The Home were very accommodating even after her passing, and we are holding the wake at the home, her last home, next week. Thank you Waterloo House.
My uncle had been a resident in Waterloo House since April 2017. Although it was an upheaval for him at the age of 89 he was welcomed by all the staff who made the transition as easy as possible; listening to his wishes and tailoring his care accordingly. It became a "home from home" with my uncle clearly enjoying the attention he was receiving and as his health became worse and he was under an "end of life" plan his care could not have been better and the genuine affection shown for him by the staff was exceptional, as though they were caring for one of their own family members. The support provided to my uncle and to us, his family, was fantastic and I could not thank them enough for making this very difficult time, bearable.
