View Full Details of Hollymead HouseOur mum came to Hollymead House in June 2024 and passed away peacefully in March. Mum was always a very sociable person and the staff encouraged her to participate in the activities that took place in the lounge. She enjoyed every moment she spent in the lounge. She loved the food and she certainly didn't lose her appetite until the very end of her life. Her daily schedule centred around the meal times - even for visitors! For her 97th birthday in July the home reserved the conservatory for the exclusive use of the family and the staff even made her a lovely birthday cake and sang 'Happy Birthday' to her when they brought the cake in! At the end of Mum's life the staff went out of their way to make her last days as comfortable and pain free as possible. All the staff showed her the utmost respect and the level of care was exceptional. The family were kept fully informed at all times. We cannot thank the staff enough - they made our mums final days happy, contented and peaceful.
My mum came to Hollymead House in 2019 after a long stay in hospital. Throughout her stay, the staff have always gone the extra mile to ensure she was happy. When mum arrived she couldn't walk any distance but the staff got her mobile and she continued to be so until a few days before her death at 100! My mum was a very sociable person and Hollymead allowed her to continue to be so. She enjoyed sitting in the lounge and chatting with the staff and other residents. When it was Mum's 100th birthday the staff ensured that the family celebration went smoothly offering facilities and support thus making it a very special occasion. At the end of Mum's life, the staff were truly amazing not only looking after Mum with such care and respect but also ensuring the whole family were looked after. Their attention to detail was second to none. I cannot thank them enough for making her last days so peaceful and filled with care. It seems so strange not to visit Hollymead as we have for the last five years.
My mother was a resident for 16 months following a long stay in hospital and was unable to be cared for at home. The staff went above and beyond with the delivery of the care and support for my mother. This care and support wasn't simply to her but also to us as a family. The level of professionalism and significant level of expertise in caring for the elderly was just phenomenal and something that we as a family cannot thank them enough. The environment is calm, clean and a sense of family, something which was important when looking around for a care home. We cannot fault anything and would recommend this home to anyone. Thank you for everything.
Dad was not at the care home very long but the service he received, the care, the professionalism of the team and most important of all the smiles on everyone's face both staff and residents were just wonderful. Cannot praise them enough.
My mother stayed at the home following a long stay in hospital. All the staff showed the greatest of care and understanding as she had several health issues. The staff were very supportive to my family and went above and beyond on many occasions. I am very grateful to them for providing my mother with a friendly and homely environment and treating her with respect and dignity.
My late mother-in-law lived at Hollymead House for many years. The service, care and attention she received were excellent. The staff are friendly and knowledgeable and were most welcoming when I visited or phoned. Hollymead House has a beautiful garden which residents and visitors can enjoy with a conservatory leading out onto the garden. My mother-in-law enjoyed the high standard of varied meals and homemade cakes and the entertainment that was provided for residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Hollymead, and wish all the staff well for the future.
My mother, who sadly died very recently enjoyed four very happy years at Hollymead. My brother and I were very worried about how, at 90, she would cope with this significant change in her life - however, our concerns soon disappeared. Mum took on a new lease of life, socialising with members of staff and other residents and enjoying the very relaxed atmosphere and positive ethos. She enjoyed the freshly cooked food - her only complaint being that she couldn't eat it all! Her ensuite room was bright and well furnished and with ample space for her own possessions. She was able to decide how she spent her day - in one of the social spaces, outdoors on the well-kept grounds or joining in the activities and entertainment. When she became ill, she received first-class care and attention, with excellent liaison with external medical colleagues. She received round-the-clock attention and care to ensure that she was as comfortable as possible. I recommend Hollymead unreservedly.
The family were all worried when my 96-year-old mum needed extra care and could no longer live alone. We had to move her from Manchester to be closer to me. I spent weeks looking for a care home and as soon as I walked into Hollymead House, I was impressed by the clean, fresh appearance and friendly, helpful staff. Mum has settled really well and is very happy in her new home. The staff are warm, kind and caring and couldn't have been more welcoming. The food looks delicious and healthy and Mum has got her appetite back and has gained weight. Both the manager and owner are professional but always treat the residents with respect and dignity whilst maintaining a homely atmosphere. I cannot speak more highly of this wonderful care home.
Following a very professional and friendly home visit. I was fortunate to secure Mum a place in Hollymead for three weeks of respite. I cannot stress enough the attention Mum was given, and the inclusion and friendliness of all the staff. Hollymead was beautifully furnished and decorated, clean, warm and welcoming. The food was varied, cooked perfectly and well presented. Overall very good value for money and peace of mind.
Hollymead is the most wonderful residential home, truly a home. The manager and the owner promote high standards within a caring, person-centred environment. The lounges and dining room are spotless and my mother’s room was always beautiful clean and well-kept. I looked at many homes and I felt as soon as I visited Hollymead it was head and shoulders above other places and it has always delivered to my very high expectations. The food is scrumptious, cooked by the in-house team and locally sourced ingredients with homemade cakes in the afternoon. There is daily entertainment and residents can opt in or out. The care is person-centred and was flexibly arranged according to Mother's various needs. However, standards and care never slip. Mother regained full continence at Hollymead. The team also knew that Mother responded and worked with some members preferentially and they accommodated that with kindness and understanding. It has been a joy to have Mother at Hollymead, truly exceptional. Thank you.
My father spent the last 8 months of his life at Hollymead House. The care he experienced was second to none. The staff were efficient, respectful and above all very caring spending time with him and always with a smile. Everything he needed was taken care of and health concerns were dealt with immediately with family informed. There was also regular entertainment for all to enjoy. It was a place where family and friends were free to come and go and were always made to feel welcome. We could not have wished for a happier place for him to end his days.
My stepmother went into Hollymead House for 9 nights of respite. First time she has been in a care home. She cannot praise the manager and staff enough for all their care and kindness. The food was excellent along with cleanliness. The process and forms were all explained clearly to me and were easy to complete. Highly recommend Hollymead House and its staff. Thank you for making myself and my stepmother so welcome and comfortable.
Very good place to be. Food is good.
All the carers, management and staff made time to get to know Mum when she moved in. The care given was so kind, professional and patient. Mum felt safe and was able to socialise or stay in her own room as she chooses. Lots of effort is made to make this a happy "home from home". I will be forever grateful to all at Hollymead for their excellent care of Mum.
My mother has always felt safe and well cared for at Hollymead House. Her family have had confidence in the staff (day and night) and management. Communications with the home and between the home and medical services have been good. Above all the care and kindness of the staff cannot be faulted.
Mum came 8 years ago after her health deteriorated and could no longer look after herself. She loved it there and soon made friends. The care staff were wonderful, even though Mum's final days. They treated her with dignity and respect.
Hollymead House have been fantastic. The care, food, and home are outstanding. All staff members and owners were very friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Food is outstanding. Covid 19 struck the home two days after a resident moved in for respite so activities were cancelled but staff were very attentive and made sure the resident was okay. LFT and PCR tests were regularly done to keep all safe. An excellent home I would give 10/10.
My mother had a nasty fall and was hospitalised. On leaving hospital she went to Hollymead House for rest and recuperation. Almost immediately she was full of praise for the establishment. The care given was excellent. All of her needs were catered for and she loved the food! The liaison with the staff and myself was brilliant and I was kept informed of all developments throughout her stay. I would not hesitate to recommend it as it was just wonderful.
I came for a week of respite after emergency surgery. All the staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. There was a really happy atmosphere. The owners came to check that everything was ok which I found was a really nice touch. I feel so much better after my week's stay and would fully recommend this care home.
Four weeks spent in Hollymead House with the intention of building up strength before the return to usual routine and chemotherapy modules. The lovely firm mattress is sorely missed as it really helped with support and posture. I could have benefited from more focused exercises but did some exercises from my "sink" exercise sheet. The wonderful staff and management work closely together to ensure an integrated experience for residents.
