View Full Details of Manor Barn Nursing HomeMy mum has been in Manor Barn nursing home since June 2022. The care she receives is second to none. I could not be happier that she is in a caring and safe environment. The nursing home is always clean and tidy. They do lots of activities that cater for mum's need. The staff are very friendly and very approachable nothing seems to much trouble for all the staff. The food is a very good selection and it's always nicely presented.
The carers have been absolutely wonderful, particularly the two who did my personal care. Two staff members brought me the most lovely meals and hot drinks, very thoughtful and took my preference into account. I've felt very safe and looked after, like a big family. reception and activities team are so warm and friendly. My needs have been listened to and treated respectfully.
The manager and staff at Manor Barn Nursing Home couldn't have been nicer. They were all very caring and knowledgeable and looked after my father so well in his month there. Sadly, he passed away whilst there but I couldn't have chosen a nicer place for him to be during the last few weeks of his life. Would highly recommend.
My husband was cared for whilst I had a week's break. I was confident he would be well looked after in this lovely home. A week is not long to judge somewhere but I was confident he would be looked after well and he was. The staff I met were very friendly and caring, and everywhere was very comfortable and clean. Very good choice of healthy food. The facilities are excellent. I had hoped he would take part in activities but he was confused and was not there long enough to get used to things. My rating as 'good' rather than excellent is purely because I only have a week on which to make a judgement.
Wonderful caring environment to spend his last few months. The staff are fabulous. The garden views are beautiful and the food was lovely. Very kind and considerate of family and resident in final hours. Did not sample the activities as too poorly and no idea for value for money as was funded. Two or three staff really went above and beyond and couldn't thank them more. My only request would be to ensure bed trays are cleaned a little more often used baby wipes to go over-otherwise very clean.
I have visited on a number of occasions and found nothing but excellent, caring and attentive staff. They are always welcoming and my stepfather is extremely well taken care of. As a qualified nurse of many years I am always on the look out for any concerns, yet no matter when I arrive I have always found excellent care. My stepfather has a poor appetite but the staff have tried their utmost to provide wonderful, nutritious food.
Entrance drive poorly maintained. Also shrubs have been neglected. Very few staff at weekend. Administrator and lifestyle coordinator were very kind and helpful. Staff take a long time to respond to call bell. Because of her lack of sight, her food needs to be cut into bite-size pieces. Pity the new greenhouse door isn't big enough to get a wheelchair in.
The manager came out to visit my mum to understand her likes/dislikes before she went into the home. All the staff were patient, caring, accommodating and helpful. The qualified nurses were particularly supportive to all the family and Mum received the care she needed. I recommend the home.
I am thrilled with the care my husband is receiving. Every request I have made has been delivered. Outstanding manager and management. All the staff do their very best. The domestic team ensure that the is cleaned to a high standard, the nice thing is they all talk to the residents every day. The catering staff are fanatical in feeding the clients with their required nutritional needs. The nursing staff watch and monitor everything to provide sensible and kind nursing. I know the best possible care is being given to my darling husband.
When Mum was taken into Manot Barn, I really felt at ease. The place was so fresh, clean and inviting. Such lovely surroundings. I could not fault any of her care from any of the staff who were cheerful, attentive and very caring. Mum was only there 6 days before she passed and I can honestly say the care was amazing. The dignity they showed to Mum and the compassion for me and my brother was out of this world. Highly recommend.
My mother, now 94 years old, has lived at Manor Barn for nearly 4 years, during which time her health has shown considerable improvement under the expert care of all the team. The COVID crisis was managed wonderfully well at Manor Barn, and my mother was kept safe - she could not have been in better hands. My mother enjoys the arts and crafts activities in Manor Barn and takes part in games and quizzes. Holidays and special events like the Coronation are celebrated and residents' participation is encouraged. The building and the gardens are peaceful and attractive, and while nobody really wants to leave their own home, if it turns out that you need to, then Manor Barn is a lovely place to be. For me, the quality of care and the improvements in my mother's health are what I value most of all. Having recently transferred to new ownership it will be interesting to see how Manor Barn and its residents will benefit from the additional investment this will bring.
My Aunt who is now nearly 101 has been in Manor Barn for some years. Manor Barn has a stable and caring staff team managed by two ladies. It is a warm and welcoming place and the needs of my Aunt have been very well met, both when she was more intellectually able and also now at a time when her capacity has declined. The communication I have had from staff has always been excellent.
From the first day my mother moved into Manor Barn (20 months ago) I have been reassured that she is well cared for, safe and comfortable. Family are always made very welcome when visiting, and I am kept up to date with any concerns. My father also spent his final few weeks here a couple of years ago. I cannot speak highly enough of the care he received, and the support I was given.
Caring management and staff in a clean attractive, well-tended environment with good food. It is a peaceful place with limited "entertainment" but if that is what you are seeking it is ideal. Parking is easy although roads can be busy at rush hour.
Excellent care and kindness always shown to my Aunt and to myself. Always very supportive. Very good at involving the Doctor and at contacting me about any concerns. Everyone at Manor Barn went out of their way to do all they could to make my Aunt’s last months as comfortable as possible. Thank you. I would not hesitate to recommend this Nursing Home.
Mum was only in your care for 5 short days, but I know as soon as she stepped into her sunny bright room she was very happy. Knowing she was comfortable, cared for and relaxed made it so much easier for us to leave her in capable hands. It was mums decision to go to Manor Barn as she had only heard good reports about the place and is just a shame that she was too poorly to make the most of everything the home has to offer. I cannot thank the caring supporting staff enough for mum and ourselves.
I am the husband of a resident. My wife is seriously ill with Motor Neurone Disease and is unable to speak or use her arms or legs. I try to understand her wishes by her eye movements. Most of the staff cope with her needs well. I and the carers also get help from the MND nurse.
Staff always greet you on entering the home, my friend is very happy in Manor Barn, which is a good sign. The only thing I would like to change is that residents are showered more than once a week. As someone that removed a loved one from a nursing home over this, I know it takes no longer to shower than getting a bowl of water, which goes cold and you can check skin the same time (you also won't be using dirty water by showering).
Some aspects of care do need addressing for example cleaning/washing of a service users hands before leaving food for them when in bed etc. Layout to get to common areas difficult to negotiate in wheelchairs for access.
My husband has been welcomed by all the staff and treated very well. He is confused at times, but everyone is very supportive to him and to me. The common rooms are pleasant, spacious and the garden is very restful. My husband's own room is pleasant and all areas are clean. The food is varied and well presented. All in all, a very pleasant experience.
