View Full Details of Murrayfield House Care HomeMy husband spent 2 weeks in respite in October 2024 and seemed well cared for, it was good to note familiar staff faces on his 2nd visit.
My mother had the most wonderful respite stay at Murrayfield House in December. She reported to me that all the food was delicious and she had eaten every morsel! She enjoyed all the activities and there were carol singers who had visited too. Mum always says how much kindness is shown to her and how good the care is when she stays. It provides us, her family, with great comfort to know how well cared for she is and how happy her visits to Murrayfield House make her. Thank you to all the staff.
My father feels very much at home in Murrayfield. He has formed very good relationships with all the staff who are extremely attentive and friendly. Health issues have been handled promptly by nursing staff and GP. Many thanks yo all.
Attended a birthday party for a friend who is a care home resident. Impressed by the facilities and the caring and attentive staff who provided great food and ensured that a special lady enjoyed her special day. Happy Birthday to my friend.
My wife stayed for two weeks and had a great time, staff are not 100% but 200%, always have time to talk. Rooms spotless, always cheerful staff, when my wife was leaving all the staff said goodbye and gave her a hug, little things like that show you staff really do care. You feel assured your loved one will get the best of care, keep up the good work.
Mum had 2 weeks respite at Murrayfield. Start to finish was exceptional. Dealing with Head Office (Darlington) was superb, and prompt follow-up emails. Mum's arrival was straightforward, and she was settled late afternoon. Staff particularly attentive that first night. Mum was looked after so well. Nothing was a problem - staff were patient and caring: helped with her daily exercises, kept track of medication, called GP if any queries. Helped at night-time when she needed and mornings when showering/dressing. Everyone was so pleasant, kind and gracious enough to spend time talking to Mum when she wanted. Meals were amazing! Room a decent size, great outlook onto trees and greenery (close to a nearby house whose owner practised bagpipes in the garden!) Mum made friends and loved having her hair done. She would happily return for more respite care. It's quite a weight off our minds for the future, so we're very happy to have chosen Murrayfield. Thank you to all the staff.
I would like to express my sincere thanks to the staff, especially three particular ladies for their exceptional care of my parents, enabling them to live with dignity and providing them with exemplary care in their final years. As a family, you always made us welcome when we visited and you were excellent in communicating with us, especially with regard to their health issues. We know that it takes much hard work by all of your team to make Murrayfield House a happy and dignified home for the residents where their interests and preferences always come first. It is greatly appreciated.
I cannot fault the care provided to both of my parents, who were able to share a room. All staff take care of my parent's individual needs with kindness, compassion and dignity.
I just wanted to express my thanks to the staff who cared for my mum so well during her respite stay. Everyone was so kind to her and she felt well looked after. Her suitcase was expertly packed and ready to go when I came to collect her which was also appreciated. Please can you pass on my gratitude to the staff concerned. She is happy to return for a week in March and I’ve talked to the manager regarding this so it’s all arranged. Thanks.
Fantastic service and great attention to detail with beautiful decor and excellent dining and entertainment. The building and grounds are well-maintained. The pianos are a lovely lovely touch. The manager in particular is outstanding in care and communication. All staff are friendly and professional. Couldn’t recommend this nursing home highly enough. Well done team.
My cousin was a resident at Murrayfield House Care Home for almost the last seven years. From being in the older building for many years, living there throughout the Covid pandemic and over the last year or so residing in the more secure unit, she always received such exceptional care. All the staff, from the management right down to the domestic staff, absolutely everyone was always lovely and my aunt was always so well cared for with so much respect, care and compassion. It is always exceptionally clean and tidy and my aunt was always immaculate, something that I know was important to her, and to us. I would have no hesitation in recommending Murrayfield House and I would like to say a huge thank you for all the loving care shown to my cousin - thank you.
Have been very happy with Murrayfield Care Home. Overall, staff are helpful to visitors as well as residents. Would be sorry if any more long term experienced members of staff left, as seem to be more new staff recently and sometimes seems to be short of staff, especially at weekends. Continuity is very important. Very much missed the entertainment manager when she was off.
We chose Murrayfield House Care Home for my Mother based on the accessibility of location, lovely building and grounds and positive research results on the dementia-related care she required. From day one, we saw the 'value', with the welcome, prompt help in setting up her room and support received in what was a difficult transition for her. She was a resident for almost 4 years and her condition presented several challenges for staff, but all was dealt with professionally and with respect. Over the years (and through Covid restrictions!) I felt reassured that she was in the best place, with her care being monitored and managed appropriately. I was kept informed on a regular basis, and any queries or concerns I had were readily dealt with. Overall, I would recommend Murrayfield House and am most grateful to them for providing a comfortable and safe home for my mother in her final years.
My mother was a resident at Murrayfield House Care Home for just over two years. She received the most wonderful care which I cannot fault. All the staff treated her with the utmost dignity and respect. The nursing care was excellent and the dedication of the staff is to be commended. I received great support and care from the staff and I was always kept informed of Mum's health and needs.
Thank you to all the staff at Murrayfield Care Home for looking after my father so well. Our family has found all the staff we have met to be kind and caring. Everyone is extremely approachable, and nothing is too much trouble. If you have a query, it is easy to speak to a member of staff from the highest levels down. The home is immaculately clean, the environment is calm and homely, and the nursing care provided is amazing.
I found Murrayfield House Care Home a very interesting building where I had a fine and comfortable room. The staff were most friendly and helpful. I spent a good deal of time on my own but was lucky to have daily visits from my family. I did enjoy my time of two weeks there.
Good all round care taken with my Mother-in-law. Excellent service from all staff - from top to bottom.
My mother-in-law has been in Murrayfield House since August 2022 and I am very pleased with the care she receives. From the very first day, when they made her feel so welcome, it was clear how warm, caring and understanding the staff are. I am reluctant to name individuals in case I miss someone out, but thanks goes to the nursing staff who look after her needs and always keep us updated, the events staff who organise trips, entertainment and are generally just lovely to her, the care staff who always treat her with kindness and respect and the housekeeping staff who all play their part. It’s obvious from our visits how much the staff care for her and have taken time to get to know her on a personal level, even little touches like making sure her great-grandson’s cushion is in the right spot! We are also welcomed when we visit and made to feel like part of the community. It is a weight off our minds that she is safe and looked after in a supportive and caring environment.
My mum came into the home in August 2022 and has received excellent care from day one. All staff are extremely caring, attentive and friendly to her. Importantly, when we speak to them (all staff chat to us), it is clear that carers and housekeeping staff have taken time to get to know Mum. They understand what she likes and what she can and can’t do - helping answer her phone or position her great-grandson’s picture are tasks they are only too pleased to do! The events staff are great for all residents and Mum, in particular, really appreciates the efforts made to get her involved in a range of activities - there is a significant benefit in her being out of her room and interacting with other residents. Mum has some complex medical needs and the nursing staff are always available to discuss any issues, often proactively calling to update me. Overall, I would highly recommend Murrayfield House in terms of the accommodation, facilities and above all, the standard of care provided.
Our friend is well looked after and is happy in her environment. The carers do all they can to make her comfortable and secure, despite fewer staff being around.
