My mother was a resident of Old Hastings House for six years. I would find it hard to fault the standard of care and have no hesitation in recommending it for anyone considering moving into a care home or relatives making the choice for a family member. Mum loved living at the home, thought the food was outstanding, and not only like the staff but trusted them. The staff treated her with dignity but also were friendly and kind. There is a very low staff turnover, which speaks a lot about the management. There is a family atmosphere, which permeates from management through to care staff and all the associated support staff involved in cleaning, admin, catering and maintenance. Although Mum didn't take part in many activities, there were lots of things arranged for residents who chose to join in. Mum died during Covid after a very short illness. With the family all living far away, it wasn't possible for us to be there, but I was extremely touched by the care and support in her final hours.
