Our mother has been a resident now for nearly a year and whilst it was a very hard decision to move Mum from her home into care we knew that for her safety and our peace of mind it was the right thing to do. The manager and her team are always friendly and more than happy to talk to us at any time if we have any concerns. In the early days when it was difficult for us to accept Mum's decline they were so reassuring to us and helped Mum to settle into her 'new home' and for us to adjust to this new way of life for Mum. Mum is very happy and has made lots of new friends even to the point that she prefers to chat to them when we visit her. In a lovely way Mum has a new family and a new home at York Lodge. We as a family cannot praise the team at York Lodge highly enough for their dedicated care to our mum and for the fun and array of entertainment including Summer and Christmas parties which we as a family are invited to take part in. Sincere thanks to all the team at York Lodge.
My father was only at York Lodge for 12 days before he passed, but the compassion and kindness showed by the staff was incredible.
My Nan has been a resident here for over a year now and she is very happy and content here. She has a very large room on the top floor overlooking the very pretty rear garden. The manager is always friendly and willing to answer any questions we have to ask and is always very approachable at any time. The staff are very friendly and ask us if we would like a tea or coffee when we arrive as nothing is ever any hassle. Never had any problems. We as a family are very happy and content with how my nan is being cared for here at York Lodge.
My Dad has been a resident since early 2022 and has been incredibly well looked after from the start. The staff are all very friendly, accommodating and clearly know the different needs of each resident and their families in detail. They have been proactive in arranging everything Dad needs without even having to be asked like; COVID vaccine injections and boosters, eye tests, medication changes with the GP, haircuts, chiropody etc. etc. From the beginning, it was clear they all have a great deal of specialism in dealing with dementia patients, which for me makes it much easier as someone who for the first time is dealing with a relative diagnosed with dementia.
My father is not the easiest of people to care for but I have utmost faith in the staff and management of York Lodge to ensure that his health and wellbeing are being taken care of to a very high standard. There is always a friendly welcome and a family atmosphere. I have not been able to visit for a while because of my ill health but I know if there are any problems I will be informed immediately... giving me peace of mind. Thank you York Lodge!
We moved my father to York Lodge in the summer of 2024 and it was the best decision we made. The staff are all so lovely and the home has such a wonderful family feel. Dad took a few weeks to settle but everyone was so patient and understanding and kept me up to date regularly. Dad's move all happened very quickly and I was apprehensive but we couldn't be happier with York Lodge.
Do not have to pre-book visits, welcome any time at he home, always greeted with a friendly smile. The staff are very helpful and caring. My mother has been so well looked after. She was 97 in April and has been living at York Lodge Crowborough for two years. A great relief knowing she is being well cared for.
My 94-year-old father has been a resident in this care home since 2022. He had dementia. They have accommodated him in a downstairs room due to his lack of mobility - he is a vegetarian and has been catered for. His overall care has been good, and we are generally happy. The family are made very welcome to visit.
My mother went into care at York Lodge, Crowborough last December 2023. Happily, Mum settled very well. She has a beautiful room upstairs and is looked after very well. I do feel there could be more interaction with Mum in the day room downstairs - as this is so important to her.
Lovely welcoming staff. Very clean. Caring staff. Happy patients.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Leaving a loved one in the care of other people is never an easy choice. Our family are so pleased with the "home from home" feel at York Lodge and the care he is given there. Dad also is happy to be in their care, and he always seems calm and comfortable in York Lodge.
My partner has been in this home for more than two years. Before the pandemic, one was allowed to visit as often as one wished, and the residents were transported by the home's minibus on a regular basis. Naturally, lockdown changed this, but one was allowed visits outside behind plastic screens or directly (after LFT testing) depending on Covid conditions. I have nothing but praise for how my partner has been treated by a dedicated team under the supervision of a very competent manager.
My father was a resident at York Lodge for a couple of years. During this time he was cared for by all the staff with great love and respect. I was always told of any changes in his care or condition and as a family, we always felt supported. Sadly my father died in June. He was lovingly cared for and we are truly grateful to all at York Lodge.
My 90-year-old father has lived at York Lodge for two years. From the moment I first visited I knew I had made the right choice. The staff are professional, hard-working and above all clearly care for the residents. I am kept informed of what's going on and have always been made welcome. What matters most is my father is happy. During the Covid situation, the staff have coped well ensuring the residents remain protected. I feel reassured that he is being well looked after.
Mum has been a resident at York Lodge for over four years. It truly is a “Home from Home”. The dedicated staff and Management team are exceptional, they are friendly, approachable and loving. Hugs and kisses are abundant. They really do care about all aspects of mum's well being and from what I have seen, is applicable to all residents. My mum's behaviour has been challenging at times, this has been met with kindness, understanding and resolution. I have huge respect and appreciation for all of the amazing staff, even more so during the current pandemic. A lovely place to live.
My mum has been at York Lodge for a while now and all I can say is thank you for keeping her safe especially at the moment. More activities would be great to keep her stimulated; she loves singing. Thank you once again!
All good. Very happy.
A residential home of about 20 residents, the staff show patience and concern to all residents. Various group and individual activities are held to encompass the abilities of members. Using a minibus those that are able go on short outings and afternoon tea out. I am not around at mealtimes but the menu displayed is varied. Residents always look clean and tidy.
