View Full Details of Mahon Hall Care HomeMy aunt has been resident at Mahon Hall for over 5 years. During this time she has been given excellent care by all of the staff. The home is spotlessly clean and my aunt is encouraged to take part in the many activities. We always find her well dressed and cheery.
I am very satisfied with the care my husband receives in the Mahon Hall.
Staff pleasant and approachable. Nursing staff always helpful and take time with my aunt and family to explain medical needs and reassure family of any concerns. Nursing assistances offer my aunt reassurance and spend time chatting to her, help her feel at ease and show a great level of compassion. Nursing staff always are prompt in getting my aunt medical attention from doctors etc.
I find all the staff very friendly and willing to help when asked. The overall atmosphere is good and residents seem well looked after. My mother in law is very happy here.
My Mum has been staying here for about a year now and I have no complaints about the care home or its staff. She has settled in well and I would recommend Mahon Hall to anyone else.
My mother has been a resident from May 2017 and has been very settled and happy from day one. It is so assuring for the family to know just how happy she is and contented in the knowledge that she is secure and so well cared for.
My experience of Mahon Hall Care Home from my father's admission has been very positive. I am very assured that my father receives the care and attention he requires on a daily basis. The only complaint my father would have on some occasions, not all weeks, would be the standard of the food, but otherwise, I am very happy with the overall standard of care provided. Thank you.
Staff are very good and my mother has said she loves it.
Visited Mahon Hall Care Home on 18/12/18. I visited a friend and his wife, also found the staff to be very caring and friendly, going around doing all that they could possibly do for all the other residents between doing paperwork. Found this a very good home.
Staff and management will go out of their way to help. My mother is very happy and content with the care and attention she receives.
Overall care of my mother is excellent - life-saving in fact. Action of nurse on duty must be commended. There are two relatively small notes to be aware of. During the heavy snow, there was hardly any salt put down on the car park, even though there are two boxes in the car park. Whether or not there is a maintenance officer employed by the home is irrelevant. Residents and visitors go in and out of the home daily e.g. Hospital appointments etc. This is a health and safety issue. Also, the standard of food, particularly at tea time at weekends need to be improved. My mother does not eat chicken and mushrooms, and most of the staff are aware - raised this at care management meeting.
Good parking areas. Hanging baskets and plants in the grounds which could be viewed from some of the residents' rooms. The reception is tidy with chairs and a detailed signing book for visitors. On my first visit, I was accompanied by a very pleasant member of staff through the coded doors and into the lounge. The residents were all correctly dressed with hair brushed and seated in various sizes of chairs and in some cases with a large cushion to support those with back issues. At least one member of staff present at all times. A good atmosphere with the TV on in the background and also playing songs from the past. A big input from the 'Pal' employee who carries out a range of activities eg a quiz, baking pancakes etc and encouragement for the involvement of the residents thus reducing boredom. Staff are present in the dining room giving help to residents. A good choice of menu eg porridge/cereals, savoury mince and potatoes, sausages, vegetables and potatoes and extra portions as requested. Fruit and water or juices are available throughout the day. Recommendations for future planning:- 1. No shared rooms 2. Ensuite on each bedroom. Overall excellent staff, always pleasant and smiling and a good interest in the individual needs of the resident.
The experience that we have had at this care home is difficult to put into words. It has been wonderful from the beginning without exception. The care and dedication that my brother receives is second to none and we are fully informed about any health issues he has and how they will proceed. The door is always open, there is always a friendly face who knows me by name who can put my mind at ease or answer a question. I can honestly say, I have never experienced care like it.
