View Full Details of Heatherdene Nursing HomeMy family and I are very satisfied with the care my husband received. I visited him every day, could spend as much time as I wished with him and he seemed content. It is a good community with a range of activities each week which help to keep the residents minds alert, with quizzes, general knowledge, physical exercise, which visitors could join in. They always made an effort to get my husband up and into the day room and dining room. The food was excellent. When he died I was treated with care and compassion.
A friend of mine was admitted to Heatherdene last year. She was in very poor health and unable to swallow solid food. Since then the outstanding care and attention she has received have transformed her life. She now eats well, takes part in daily activities and every time I visit tells me how happy and comfortable she is at Heatherdene. This home is clearly well managed with professional, friendly, caring, staff. I am very confident about the care my friend receives.
Excellent nursing home where the staff are highly professional, caring, attentive to the wishes of the residents and their families. Beautiful building, nice rooms where residents can bring in personal items to make them feel more at 'home', immaculately clean. The meals are very good with a wide variety of dishes. The activities are wonderful - bingo, sing along, quizzes, films, etc., all run by such a dedicated person who brings such energy, compassion and happiness to these communal sessions. We could not have hoped for a better place for my Mum to be. We are truly grateful to the staff and the Management there.
Staff are pleasant, visiting my brother 3 times weekly. If I need care, this will be my first choice. This is the best home I have been to, his care needs are excellent, always clean and this is how a place for care should be.
My late mother was a resident at Heatherdene Nursing Home for ten months. The level of care she was given was outstanding. Heatherdene is an immaculate home with caring staff. There is a daily well thought out entertainment plan and the meals served are of the highest quality. I am grateful and comforted by the fact that my mother spent her final months at Heatherdene Nursing Home and cannot sing its praises enough.
My husband's aunt moved into Heatherdene about 3 months ago. We reside in Ireland and we recently travelled over to visit her. We were so happy to see how well she looked. The care she has received is exemplary. The care home is spotlessly clean and the staff are kind, welcoming and so professional. We cannot speak highly enough of them all. My husband's aunt is in good hands and we look forward to many more visits to see her.
The staff were fantastic, very caring and considerate. They could not have done more for my husband while he was in there. He was kept comfortable and very clean while he was there. They showed great compassion at all times.
Wasn't the easiest person to help after the bleed on the brain. But with their care and kindness, she settled down.
Everything excellent though a wider variety of appropriate activities would be welcomed. Staff are all wonderful, friendly and caring - cannot be faulted.
Heatherdene is a lovely nursing home. The staff are kind and patient and the rooms are spotless. It would be lovely if there were a greater variety of activities to keep the residents occupied.
My mother was a resident at Heatherdene for the past 2 years until she passed away, she suffered from a severe disability and mild dementia she was largely bed-bound and required full care. In every way, the home has been exemplary. The staff were always professional, welcoming with a warm smile and willing to have a quick chat if required, they looked after us almost as much as they looked after Mum. We were always informed of any changes in Mum's condition or management. My mum's room was always fresh, clean and tidy, as was my mum with her hair always clean and brushed, nails varnished. I could tell that Mum had been involved in many of the activities in the home - even bed-bound as she was. She was even given a small computer tablet to hear the bingo numbers when they played! I can not praise Heatherdene enough for everything they did for my mum.
My mother has been at Heatherdene since November 2023. She came to Heatherdene after a stay in hospital then at another nursing home. When she arrived at Heatherdene, she was withdrawn, hardly speaking or eating and needed to be hoisted. Every time I visit her it is such a joy to see how much she has improved. Despite her dementia, she is now chatty, smiling and joins in activities. Her appetite has improved enormously - the team started with small portions and tempting bites. Staff have been proactive in arranging physio support so she no longer needs the hoist and is able to use a standing aid for her transfers to a wheelchair. Staff are very friendly and welcoming; there is a lovely atmosphere in the home. Staff know all the residents and are very caring. Nothing is too much trouble. I'm so pleased and relieved we found Heatherdene.
The staff were all very experienced and a pleasure to talk to. Everything they carried out was clearly to the highest standard. The room was cleaned daily and any requests were attended to quickly. The service they gave 24/7 and at no time was it ever a problem. I would not hesitate to recommend Heatherdene Nursing Home.
From the first visit and meeting the team we loved Heatherdene. Having viewed many homes in the area and needing to find a place for both my mum and dad with very different needs, Heatherdene was the obvious choice. The home itself is welcoming, warm, clean and cosy (walking in feels homely and safe), the staff are experienced, qualified, and so helpful and friendly. My parents' rooms are lovely, the food options are great, there are daily activities and everyone goes the extra mile. Communication with the whole team is accessible and easy and after many sleepless nights whilst my mum was in temporary respite care in a different home, I now feel relaxed and confident that my parents are being well looked after and are safe and cared for with all the relevant nursing and personal care in place and visiting is a pleasure. I highly recommend Heatherdene and thanks again to all the team!
Excellent care and support from day one. I cannot fault Heatherdene Nursing Home in any way. Staff loving and friendly and not just to the residents but to family and friends too. Rooms are lovely and clean. Loads of activities and entertainment most days. Food fantastic... for any needs required. I highly recommend Heatherdene Nursing Home.
The manager and all the lovely caring staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble for them, always keeping regular updates and never too busy to talk, excellent care and facilities treated with utmost respect and dignity.
My stepfather has been a resident in Heatherdene Nursing Home for almost a year. We have been very impressed with everything. From the moment someone opens the door until you leave the friendliness and caring and the staff is very obvious. The standard of care and consideration given is very good. The surroundings and residents' rooms are always very clean. A delight to visit.
I would happily recommend Heatherdene Nursing Home as the staff are friendly, caring and considerate. The food is varied and they can accommodate personal preferences. Communication between the staff and family has been great and we have always felt welcomed. Excellent service all round. Thank you.
Staff and management very friendly and attentive.
Our dear friend was admitted to Heatherdene Nursing Home with a terminal illness. His care and well-being were exemplary, and nothing was too much for the staff. Who were always happy, friendly and patient. The rooms were spacious and clean. The food menu was nicely varied and wholesome, and very tasty according to our friend. We would not hesitate to recommend Heatherdene Nursing Home, first class.
