View Full Details of Lakeside Nursing & Residential HomeMy mother-in-law was a resident of Lakeside Care Home for 7 months. During this time, she received outstanding care, love and support from every member of staff. No words can express how much this was appreciated by her and also us as a family.
The carers in Lakeside were excellent and treated the residents with love and respect, understanding individual concerns and needs. They worked together as a team, ready to help each other when double help was needed with hoists, rearranging (patients) residents and keeping them comfortable and responsive to everyday activities.
Lakeside Nursing Home is a well run home. The team go above and beyond and show unwavering commitment to the residents and the genuine care they show in every interaction. The residents look really happy, they do some kind of activity throughout the week, also they take the residents out i.e.: meals, theatre etc. I would like to give a big thank you for everything you do. P.S.: spotless clean, food hygiene 5*, a very homely fell and always welcoming.
My mum has been in Lakeside for 6 months, as a family we never thought our Mum would end up in a care home. Lakeside is my 2nd home, I love spending time there with Mum and love going to see all the other lovely residents, Lakeside is 1 big happy family. All the Staff are lovely from the admin staff, manager who goes out of her way and all the carers who are all amazing and look after all the residents and show love to each and everyone of them, not to forget the handyman. Thank you so much to all of you for what you do. When I leave Lakeside I know my mum is being looked after and I know the staff love her and she is in good caring hands. Thank you so much to you all for everything you do.
Lakeside has literally picked up the pieces of a previous bad experience in another care setting. It is like she has come home and my faith in the care sector restored. This is how it should be from day 1! I feel as if I have been involved and listened to and the staff is eager to understand how my mum's needs are to be met. A beautiful setting, lovely room and bedding that is bright, ironed and changed regularly. Dietary requirements have been met and patient and understanding carers take the time to assist with feeding. For the first time in months, I can see my mother pain-free, comfortable, clean and content.
Following a fall and breaking her hip at her own home, my 91-year-old mum had an operation and, after three months of discharge, could no longer walk or stand. She wasn’t eating and was very confused. We needed a nursing home and viewed six before we found Lakeside. Straight away, we felt happy, and our first impression was of a clean, welcoming and caring home for Mum. Moved in November 2023. She was still refusing to eat, but the chef prepared special meals, the staff fed her, and I’m happy to say she is now eating. She will not leave her bed, but we are so pleased with how well the staff care for her. She is still a little confused but was able to tell us how kind the staff are, that they help her to eat, the food is good, and she seems happier and more content than she was at home. The management (including Jimmy the dog) and admin staff are really helpful and friendly and care for both residents and family. Looking forward to the opening of The Bistro in January 2024. I would recommend this care home.
Like many families, searching for a care home for my mum was a daunting experience as, until a fall in early October, Mum was living in her own home supported by carers and family, and this was not a path that she would have chosen to take. On discharge from the hospital, it was apparent that Mum required full-time care, and I looked at several homes in the local area. Lakeside stood out as the care home of choice, and Mum moved in on the 11th of December. All of the staff, without exception and regardless of role, show genuine care and compassion. My brothers and I are completely satisfied that Mum is being well looked after, as Lakeside has a homely feel, the food is excellent, and Mum’s nursing needs are fully met.
Excellent standard of care offered. Home is comfortable, and feels like Mum is part of a family there. All the staff are friendly and caring. Placing Mum in a care home was such a sad and difficult time, we visited lots of homes before Lakeside, but as soon as we set foot inside Lakeside we knew that we had found the one. The manager and assistant are so approachable and proactive. We are delighted with the activities and visits that the staff organise for the residents, which I doubt happens at all care homes. I would and have recommended Lakeside 100% if you are considering a care home for a family member.
Before I took up residence in Lakeside, I gained opinions from past users and my family visited, and only ever received excellent reviews. This contributed to my choice of care home, and I have found the praise for Lakeside fully justified.
The manager has a team of wonderful, caring, professional nurses and carers. They are all cheerful, friendly and have a wonderful rapport with the residents. Resident care is an absolute priority. I can't thank them enough for looking after my wife for eight weeks.
Mum was very lucky to stay here for her end-of-life care. She called it home. All the staff made her feel welcome and comfortable, and nothing was too much trouble. She became one of the family. We would not hesitate to recommend Lakeside to anyone looking for a care home.
The manager and staff are very caring and helpful. Mum enjoys living at Lakeside Residential Home, the meals are always good, the staff pleasant and her room spotless. There is some construction work on the grounds of the home at the moment, I am sure that it will be better once these are completed.
My mother was very ill at this time and the home was quite concerned for her. However, she has come through this thanks to the care and comfort given to her at this time and at all times. Nothing was too much to ask and we are very grateful.
I cannot fault the quality of care my dad receives from the wonderful staff at Lakeside. My mum, who was a previous resident, sadly passed away in December 2022, and as a consequence, my dad moved in in January. The wonderful staff have become like an extension of our family, and my brothers and I are so grateful for the love and respect that is consistently demonstrated by all of them. The manager runs an amazing home-from-home facility and is always available to listen to our concerns, the food is 5-star quality, and the entertainment and outings offered are amazing. I genuinely think Lakeside is easily the best around.
We moved my grandfather into Lakeside after a short period of ill health had undermined his ability to maintain his independence. It is fair to say he was reluctant to leave home but, several months later, he and his family are all so pleased with how things have turned out. My grandfather is entirely at home in a wonderful, caring environment. He is entertained and challenged by the daily activities, is eating well and is enjoying life to a far greater degree than he was previously. All of the staff seem to go above and beyond in providing care and friendship.
The care, dedication and commitment of all the staff are truly amazing. They are all very special people who go above and beyond to ensure all the residents receive a wonderful experience every single day. Mum thoroughly enjoyed her recent holiday and we will never be able to thank you enough for giving her this amazing opportunity. The home is managed in an extremely professional manner and the activities manager and her team are quite extraordinary, just brilliant! Thank you so much to the team for everything you all do for my mum. Without doubt or hesitation, we highly recommend Lakeside.
The Manager leads a good team - they provide very good care for my mother and are very considerate to me and other family members. It is sad that my mother is no longer able to take advantage of the wide range of interesting activities which are frequently provided.
Lovely caring staff who do everything in their power to ensure that residents' needs are catered for, thanks to the Activities Coordinator for all the events she organises and for the 1to1's tailored to individual interests. Lovely weather for today's Easter fair and great to get into the beautiful grounds with views over Worthington Lake. Thanks again to the Manager, Activities Coordinator, Administrators and all the team, must mention all the kitchen staff too, our dad really enjoys all his meals at the home.
My partner has joined the residents after suffering a stroke in November 2021. Despite a good recovery at the age of almost 89 he can be unsteady and had lost confidence and become isolated through not leaving the house. Since joining the Lakeside community he has been encouraged to be as independent as possible, made new friends and even been out and about to places like the local library again. The staff are lovely and caring and it is the ideal environment to live to the full once one has to face a degree of fragility.
Very pleased with the high standards which the home achieves. It was particularly nice to see how committed the staff were to ensure residents enjoyed Christmas festivities and my mum's birthday. Activities continue to be great as they are very inventive and imaginative during the restrictions.
