View Full Details of St Oswald's HouseMy mother went into St Oswald's House on 22nd December until her passing on 18th January 2025. We are both so pleased with the great care and dignity she was shown. All the staff are a credit.
I would like to let everyone know what a wonderful care and fantastic service my Mum received in her last few months at St Oswald's. These people go way above and beyond in their levels of care and professionalism and gave my mum some much-needed joy in her last few months. Thank you to all the team you are amazing, ven coming to her funeral to pay your respects. We as a family really want to put on record our gratitude and thanks.
I have lived here for the past 6 months and was welcomed here by all the staff. I am very settled and happy in my new home. I love the food and food choices and enjoy joining in the activities. Love going into the garden when it's a sunny day. The staff are marvellous. I have made some lovely friends in here, including the staff and residents. St Oswalds has changed my life for the better.
My mum went into this home for respite for 2 weeks, they really looked after her, she was taken out of her room by the care staff to go to the lounge to play bingo and dominoes, and she also had some lovely meals. They showered her and kept her clean throughout her stay. I will definitely be putting her in this care home again for respite care.
Mother-in-law moved into St Oswald's in December 2023. In the 6 months she has lived here, she has changed into a happy, contented lady from the depressed person she had become living alone at home with her carer. She enjoys living here and joining in the daily activities. She loves the quizzes, dominos and bingo especially when she wins. She enjoys the wide range of food on offer, always complimenting the chef. She loves all the office staff and carers and her words I can't fault anything, I love it here.
The staff and service was exemplary. So friendly, professional and yet like a home from home. The room was stunning and comfortable. I highly recommend St Oswald's House, and suggest you go and see for yourself. My mum went in for respite after my father passed in August 2023. Thank you Home Manager and all staff... amazing!
I have enjoyed being in St Oswald's House for the last week. Everyone was very helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The meals were nice.
On visiting my friend, I was so pleased to find tight security people - cannot just enter. No unpleasant smell, as I have experienced in other homes. So easy to walk around the beautifully decorated building and outside space. Even though my friend is in a motorised wheelchair. All the staff, including the maintenance man, was helpful and very friendly.
From the moment we came in, I was highly impressed with the home. The staff have been phenomenal with both Mum and myself. The home is very clean, well-staffed and well-equipped. Thank you so much.
I cannot recommend St Oswald's enough. Since my family member has stayed here, they have always been looked after to a very high standard, the staff are always friendly and helpful, there are lots of activities on offer, the food is great, and the overall home itself is lovely! Couldn’t be happier with our experience here; the quality of care is amazing.
My mum was admitted to St Oswald's Care Home nearly two years ago straight from the hospital; she, unfortunately, is now bedridden. Since her admittance to St Oswald's, my mum has become stable; she is well looked after by the care and nursing staff, which had not been achieved in the hospital environment. Mum does not get involved in activities in the home, but she does like to use the hairdresser; she also likes the visits to her room by staff, which are constant, sometimes to talk or just to have her nails done. There are many activities organised for the residents, eg, visits from local colleges and schools, gospel singers and more, and relatives are also included if they so wish. St Oswald's Care home also has lovely, well-maintained gardens. Again I would like to say that all the staff, from the carers, the kitchen staff, the nursing staff, caretakers, admin staff and the manager, are all very caring staff and make the home and its environment what it is, excellent.
The staff at St Oswald's provided amazing care to my grandad. They were always friendly and welcoming to everyone. I felt like they went above and beyond to ensure my grandad was well looked after and comfortable. The home was clean and tidy throughout. I thoroughly recommend this care home.
Always made welcome when we call. Mum is comfortable in her room. At present, she doesn't like to join in activities. The room is looking a little shabby, si an upgrade would be welcome. The food sometimes doesn't suit Mum, but in general, is ok, and changes are starting to be addressed. The carpet needs refreshing.
I am happy that my mum is receiving the appropriate care and is being well looked after. She always seems content when I visit. I am very happy with the activities and social gatherings offered. The staff really make an effort to get everyone involved who wants to be, which is really nice to see.
St Oswald's has taken amazing care of my nana since she moved here. All the staff are so friendly and smiley. As a family, it is great to see the wide variety of activities the residents get up to. The care home is always clean and tidy too. It is comforting knowing how happy and safe my nana is in St Oswald's care.
My mother has been in St Oswald's House for just nearly two weeks. She seems to be improving slowly. I am hoping that physio is going to help her improve further. My hope is that she can get, hopefully, get better so that in the future she can come home, but with time and care, this is the aim and her health improve to the best it can.
I have nothing else to describe this facility as excellent. My father is in, without any doubt, one of the best homes he could be in. He is happy, and the staff have always been hospitable and friendly to me, also a lovely place to visit!
Amazing care home from top to bottom, all care given is amazing. Organised with a lot of activities on offer. Set within beautiful grounds, even with a few bunny rabbits hopping around. Calm and peaceful.
We had an unexpected event, and Mum was taken to see St Oswald's, and she wanted to stay immediately. Mum, 86, was accommodated four days later. She wanted to join in activities immediately and has adjusted to this full-time accommodation, and likes it to being in a hotel. I am so pleased, and all requested food, hairdress etc, all done.
My mum was in St Oswalds for two weeks respite care. I felt the experience on my behalf, was organised and informative in the run-up to her stay. I felt she was left in a safe and secure environment on my departure. The staff, with who I had dealings with, were friendly and reassuring. Mum has said she enjoyed her stay, the food was lovely, and the staff were friendly too. Covid safety protocol was followed on each of the visits made to my mum.
